Solo Winter Beach Fishing attempt to find big fish | Overnight in a POD

- Join Graeme on a solo winter beach fishing attempt on a uk beach fishing mark. He also stays overnight in a tiny pod. This is one of those films where you feel as though you are actually fishing alongside Graeme. First he tries his luck at a huge expanse of boulder-covered beach next to a Nuclear Power station, then he shows you where he crashed for a few hours overnight, a strange unit called a "POD". Plus he hits another beach fishing alone hoping his hunch that a big fish might come after darkness, coinciding with a high tide. It's all there...the sound of the surf, the fishing rigs and the fish. Finally, a decent beach session for Graeme as he does his best to bring you all a watchable and entertaining film. Almost an hour long, so get your feet up, and a drink sorted. Enjoy!

So relaxing to watch I’ve fished since I was 11 years old but havnt been for a few years as got a partner and kids now that take all my time up but yeah I want to get back in to fishing I love it and it’s peaceful 🙏🎣🐟❤️
@@TheMagpieReview take them with you 😏
Graeme whether you catch or not you put your heart and soul into entertaining us my friend that's why we follow you through thick and thin
It's notcalled catching, it's fishing
Thank you for your dedication Graeme! You're a legend, great session.
I’m watching as I am typing!!!! This is going to be a great video as always Graeme
Two rays, well done and thanks for keeping us entertained Graeme.
We all do it go from despondency to despair then all forgotten with a single fish. Good video
Only takes one decent fish to turn it around.
Thank you Graeme, inspiring me to get a line back in the water in the spring
Yes,deffo wait until it warms up...I'm not fishing in the biting cold winds any more.
I still fish the beach in our australian winter which probably isn't as cold as the UK, but I do end up with toes so cold tha I can't feel them and fingers so cold that I can barely bait a hook. I stillcatch fish though
an hour of graeme fishing with a few pints on a friday ,whats not to love
Another great video, I don't know how you do it but there's so much to enjoy whether it's your enthusiasm and humour, your incredible fishing insights or the sounds and sights of the sea. I really think these films would appeal to people who have never even picked up a rod in their life. You did look very cross about that lost fish too. 🤣🤣
I'm so pleased you had a successful trip. Great thornback rays and a huge dogfish too 👍
Made a change to get some bigger fish...I really did enjoy the whole expedition.
"The chances of catching nothing are pretty high" -said without a hint of care one way or the other .🤣 Love it!!
I've been watching TA fishing since 2011 and can honestly say it has been a honour and a privilege, please keep the vids coming, your great personality's! Tight lines lads!
More to come.
Great session Greame good to get a few fish and that’s why you go beach fishing
Love it when a plan comes together Graeme, good nights sport👍
That’s why your channel is one the best as it’s so varied.
I do try to mix it up..be a be bit boring just putting up the same old species...in fact I probably wouldn't even bother if I had to stick with just one species.
well done, after all the effort you have put into your shore fishing you were due a decant session, excellent.
I did enjoy it,even if it took until dark fell before I got some fish.
@@TAFishing I would say maybe a pattern to remember for the future, receding tide in the dark, hold the phone you already said that in your vid, anyway I think your right,
100% effort as always Graeme, well done.
Well done. 10/10 for perseverance and great result
You put so much effort into fishing its inspiring, i never get tired of your videos Graeme.
Fantastic once again nice rays great effort 👌 10/10
Thought Mike was out there in a canoe pulling on your lines when you had all 3 going at once! Fantastic film, great fish and a lovely whiting to finish the night.
Great trip and fishing Graeme.Your enthusiasm for catching fish be it fresh water or sea never wavers, never ever giving less than 100%.
A true legend fisherman with a hint of comedy genius rolled into one ...yes your that good.
Stay safe.
Awesome Graeme! I knew you would pull a rabbit or two out of the hat, so to speak! 👍👍🤘✌🏻😎
Always amazed by the different shorelines, that one looks so uncomfortable to walk on Graham. Give me a sandy beach anytime lol. Getting over it as the tide comes in takes some skill, so well done you. Appreciate all the time & effort you put in to keep us all entertained.👏
Just one more cast ! Man after my own heart . Love your enthusiasm Graham . Never stop putting a bait out . 🎣🎣🎣 👍
I live in New Zealand where, as you would know we have lots of volcanic activity. If I saw red rock with those types of holes here, I would assume it was scoria, or some form of volcanic rock.
Graeme I know beach fishing is frustrating but these are my favorite videos. I have no idea why since I live across the pond but keep it going.
Will do my best but it can be tough on the UK open beaches.
That coral piece of rock that you found Graeme with all all the holes in it is called Irish Woodworm 😎😎
Glad it turned round for you Graham, nice thornbacks
i fished a beach like that with the bolders in nz i found round smaller sinkers will hold in the rocks and come out allmost every time and are better to get up from the rocks, on the retreve.great result good vid.
Absolutely love watching these videos G man. Your channel inspired me to get out fishing.
Your excitement when getting bites and brining in the fish spills through the screen and I get just as excited. Nice one and thank you
Graeme. Don't go putting yourself at risk for us, if you don't go on a bolder beach again then we're happy with that.
Stay safe and warm. 😀👍
That rocky beach does not show any signs of life ...seaweed, crawly things, clams...I cannot imagine any fish wanting to dine in that area.
You are awesome.
That's some exciting fishing Mr P .... 😉
That was great Graeme, I love it when you wait and wait and then all the rods are going! I was shouting to let you know you had a bite! Looking forward to the next film and to see where you take us... 😃
Great video and the excitement and often frustrating aspect of beach fishing. 👍
Smashed it once again Mr pullen awesome watch
Thank goodness for Graeme, even when he's not catching he takes excellent shots of everything. The closest to fishing without doing it for yourself. Seriously thought you were going to blank then your rods went mad! The two rays were a just reward for the effort you put in and I don't think I've ever seen a bigger dogfish caught of the beach. Nicely filmed and as always interesting to watch. Thanks as always for posting.
Some nice scenery, good fish, nice bit of banter and, a bonus for me, the lights from the Land of My Fathers in the background! Another cracking video, "Uncle Graeme"!
Hi Greame, love watching your vids, been watching them for a long time now and never really commented so thought id say thanks. I've learnt a lot from you and your vids 🙂
Thanks for taking the time to comment.Pleased they might help.
Beach fishing my favourite 👍that’s got the juices flowing. Nice one GP🎣
Great video Graham. Love the beach fishing ones. Ha ha I knew you would catch. Lovely thornbacks Graham. Those who persevere will always do well. 😃🐬🐬
Cool video Graeme. My default sea fishing location is near enough the opposite side of the channel to where you are on this one. I live in Penarth and so fish the beach, and Lavernock point, on on to Sully, more than anywhere else as it's convenient/lazy. What I've got from this episode is that the shore landscape is like a mirror image to that of over here, with the muddy water colour to match. Also, fossils and lost tackle in abundance, both of which I end up lumbering home with, in the absence of a catch. Sometimes the fishing is good here, othertimes it's just fossils & leads! Hey ho. I just love being out by the sea (or river, or lake), night or day. It's my life. Thanks again. Raymondo
John, Love the narrative. As a lad my buddy who used his brother's dinghy would go fishing at tidewater ( a tributary of the lower Hudson River) when school was out in late June after the Striped Bass fishing was done. At low tide the water was very clear by the early summer 's light streamflow. We would gather all the lures we could find. Lots of fun.
Fantastic viewing Graeme, your passion is infectious. Keep them coming 👍
'I might fall and break my wallet!'....Not packed with that wad of white fivers you won't Graham! (Mr, 1st out the taxi, last to the bar)
Just found your channel and subscribed. Really enjoyed this video fantastic. Looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for posting it. Best regards
G'day Graeme, just catch'n up on the last few vids mate; pardon the pun, a couple of points If I may;
man that rock beach must be hard on the ankles, but a rock seat is always handy, or some fallen steps, lol. Those fossils are very cool too.
The ol' white tip rods sure come into their own, I've done a couple, and the rest are on the hit list.
Previously; top strategy to walk the dog and recon a potential location or two at the same time.
Vinegar to tart up rusty hook;s, bloody 'ell why didn't I think of that, I'm sure we've all got plenty.
Nice furniture reno, understand the trend, though all those legs/skirts covered with paint breaks my heart, lol. Cheers Duke.
Thanks for the comment...stay safe down under.
Well I never expected it to end like that. From the scientific debate of, 4 legs is better than 2 on Lilstock boulders to skate till late 🤣 Look out Graeme, Hollywood calling. Tight lines and stay safe from the dreaded virus.
I'm absolutely knackered watching you running up and down that beach lol some nice fish! Keep up the impeccable work 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That was great!! So glad you got them rays. I loved watching you rods when you was getting them bites!!! Totally awesome!! Tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
Watch every episode! What I wouldn’t give to go fishing with Graham Totally Awesome 👏
Great when it all comes together Graeme.Excellent video.Well done.
Fantastic night time shots, the moon was so bright, fantastic fishing too!
Totally awseome Graeme, thanks for sharing.
Another great video Graham, only fellow anglers know the excitement/ anticipation when the rod tips start rattling away
Right on well deserved rays them. Great session on the beach at last. Really enjoyed this one.
Great Session Again,, Yeah You Right Totally Awesome
get those hooks sharpened Gray ;-) ... nice vid, thanks for sharing (y)
Stuart 🎣🎣
walkin on those boulders seems like the 9th level of Dante's happy place 😇 dear lord you must have the ankles of a gazelle
I actually cracked a bone in my foot there a few years back, went to the foot people,x-rays etc,so I try to be careful. In fact all ages should be careful. You don't have to be ancient to have a bad twist, break or sprain. Especially fishing alone.
This man is an absolute legend!
Loads of small codling showing now, looking good for next winter.
Brilliant fishing Graham …..big save on a blank and you could’ve had more fish !!!
Tu pesca es increíble, eres un pescador muy exitoso, todo un profesional, Felicidades!!! Dios los bendiga siempre y buena pesca!👍🎣🐟🇧🇷
you should let us hear you swear it is so funny i love you graeme you sir are a legend!
Great video, I love your shows dude😃 Nice thornback there at the end makes it all worthwhile, as you said earlier in the video when you were on the boulder beach " [sometimes] I don't know why I do this" or something along those lines! That second thornback is why! 😁
Great seeing you catch again off the beach. Not been since Christmas, but hoping to get back on the beach in the next couple of weeks. Well Done!
From Houston Texas. I absolutely love your videos sir! Best fishing show on RUclips
Hi Houston,thanks for the comment.
top stuff great to see ya back on the beach and getting a few .
I must say Graeme what a difference between the day session and night session! Them rods were certainly twitching away. It was a joy to see you land a few fish especially the thornback rays.. nice fish. As for the one that got away we will never know but whatever it was it was big!! I look forward as always to the next video. Keep up the excellent work. God bless you.
Made a change to catch some decent fish...its easy if you live by the sea,you just go down to the best spots in the best conditions..but driving a couple of hundred miles to take a chance on the fishing is not for everyone. I enjoy the challenge though. And doing it on your own makes it double sweet.
Another banging video Mr p
I'm even thinking about start sea fishing
Cheers Graeme
The baits were making my mouth water they looked that good, Graeme
I just wish the fish thought the same.
Dont hibernate Graham, these bad times make the good times GREAT...pity theres no pizza coming down the cliff this time tho!!! Keep up the good work, you are really appreciated!
Awesome job !
Hey, I'm Polish and have been living in the UK for 12 years!
I love fishing and I really enjoy watching you!
Great respect for your love to fish.
All the best!
Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoy the films.
Graeme would you mind putting the date (or week number) in the description of your films? Would really help me understand what time of year you’re filming and fishing for what
Thanks Graeme, I'm returning to sea fishing after a very long time. So great videos to wet my appetite... Would be good if you just mentioned the gear ( rods and reels ) you are using so us re-newbies understand more ...
I'm a member of your fishing club 70 plus and still loving it but I have to fish venues that are reasonably easy to get to and fish, great video as usual
Well done Graeme a proper result on them thornbacks, I recon rubber ankles required on them boulders lol
Wow that's a brilliant session, their's beaches on the isle of man where I live that hold good fish and I'm sure if I put some time in I could catch thorne backs or other flatfish species it just really difficult to get good bait for these beaches cuz ideally you need rag and or lungworm if you're gonna fish the slow shelving sand beaches that being said I've never night fished on a beach down the end of the island where I live. Even being a local their's still always more local knowledge that comes into play.
Anyway hopefully I'll get out and report back with some good news soon.
Really enjoyed the episode that's a dream session for me.
Respect!!!
Great session 2 Ray what a bonus
love seeing those take downs!!!
Nice video, those thornbacks are lovely. Will consider hitting Somerset this summer
I'm always saying to my missus who struggles on boulders and rocks don't step on the rocks unless you have to step in the gaps the rocks roll the gaps don't obviously don't use small gaps that could twist an ankle but aim for the lower spots not the rocks they are not stepping stones stay safe mate 👍👍👍
Well done Graham really appreciate and enjoyed your session bill speed
Nice to see you catching fish in sommerset again Graham that cod that got caught was 15lb just the other side of the jetty on hinkley point the place is called shurton reef a young lad caught it it was uploaded to RUclips fishing 🎣👊👏👏
Shurton reef ?? That sounds like it could be a Somerset yomp to hell....I did the corner of Kilve reef once...and it was only once..Great spot, but half a mile of ankle breaking reef loaded with tackle etc...I'll leave that one to the serious guys...I reckon someone should build a fishing pier 800 yards long ,I reckon it would be popular with us oldies.
@@TAFishing totally agree Grafham it about a mile to bridgwater docks where I fish and having to push my barrow there and back you no what that's like with all the gear on it but I love fishing so have to do it 🎣 mate see you on the next vid
Ive lost fish like that looking behind you trying to walk back up the beach and letting the line go slack its amazing how quick they can spit the hook
Those braided lines, make mole hills look like mountains!
"There's no justice in the fishing world" LOL Aint that the truth! One of the spots I fish, someone put the work in to build a reasonable facsimile of an arm chair out of the larger rip-rap. I bless them every time the water is right enough to use it.
5 fish in one session not bad well done. I’m going fishing tomorrow to my local lake! I hope I get a nice carp and some perch.
Good luck with the trip.
@@TAFishing thank you. I’ll follow your good tips. I now float fish with a fly rod much more easier because I can get it out further, I saw the video of you doing it. Thanks a lot Graham. I caught my first carp because of you ta tips
yes! go graeme!
Well done..
Hey Gresham you really need to get something like those snow shoe hoops to walk over all those rocks there so you have something stable to stand on without breaking your ankles, they look like giant ping pong paddles that you clip onto your boots & they pivot at your toes. It might look silly wearing them on the beach but at least you won't break your ankles. You could easily make up a couple of shoes from pallet wood planks that are mortared together to make the planks wider, a couple of hinges onto a shorter plank with notches & a couple of bicycle toe straps to hold your feet into so you can walk across the stones.
Hi Graeme,
Nice video. The sounds of the Sea are so relaxing.
I'm now working after a month of unemployment. 3 am start delivering Krispy Kreme to shops. Really busy job which is great as i will get fitter and stronger so hopefully health will improve a lot.
Cheers Graeme,
Steve in Fife.
Keep mobile Steve, and glad you are back enjoying a job, though I never heard of Krispy Kreme. Is it eaten ? ??or applied ???? One thing I won't be applying for is the 3am start ...leave that one to you...
@@TAFishing It's an American Doughnut Company Graeme.

another great video Graeme
Crazy mild weather for February, the seasons are shifting. Love the vid 🎣
All seems to be running a month later,we got through the traditional worst month of January with about 6 frosts, currently mild and windy, but I wonder if it will all come the end of Feb...It only takes one Siberian blocking high feeding Easterlies over us and its lighting the log burner in the mornings instead of afternoon..
@@TAFishing I agree. My log burner is at the ready too 🔥
Crackin video, you deserved those rays!
Totally awesome fishing at its finest could you pop down to sunny old Dorset soon and fish some marks around Poole please
