    Some resin tape instead of the yellow masking can be pulled up after it’s fully cured. Wide silicone rubber bands also work very well for me. They’re durable, reusable and less pricey than resin tape. 😊

    I love this idea... I am curious to know why you didn't bring a layer or layers of epoxy all the way down to seal in the vinyl? Bring the bling up how far you wanted it then you wouldn't be limited to that ridge of the layers of epoxy. Just my curiosity. I've only blinged a few things and I wondered about the longevity of the vinyl with no epoxy seal to protect it from lifting with those rhinestones over it.

    • @FlynnSistersBoutique
      @FlynnSistersBoutique  Год назад +2

      I didn’t do that because it would be really hard to keep a straight line on the stone placement for this kind of pattern. This is permanent vinyl on prepped steel so it’s pretty secure and the glue around the stones will help keep it all tight

      1. To spare epoxy that wasnt needed. 2. The stones dont stick out much farther than the section of the cup thats epoxied. I like the look of that better. 3. With a honeycomb pattern, if any section of epoxy below stones is uneven or thicker in places, it would throw off the honeycomb pattern. Very little room for error when doing a honeycomb.

    I was always curious about the longevity of those cup ... like if you use pain instead of vinyl as the first coat too. I just feel the hitch to want to seal everything with epoxy but to see someone like you so well versed in this universe not doing it make me believe its safe 😂

    • @FlynnSistersBoutique

      You mean under rhinestones? You can use paint. The adhesive and stones will keep it protected. Just prep your tumbler first like any other tumbler project.

    Are there refill blades for the edge trimmer? Also, how do you know that your first row of rhinestones is going to end evenly? I do epoxy tumblers and I think this looks like a great way to learn how to add "bling" but my technical brain is going, errr, how do I measure so I know they are going to come out correctly. 😋 I have a number of 20oz skinnies that I'd like to use up but I'd love to add some "bling" for my blingy loving friends for Christmas this year.
    Gorgeous tumbler! Still loving your channel so much. Super talented and I love your tumblers! 🥰

    • @FlynnSistersBoutique
      @FlynnSistersBoutique  Год назад +1

      If you want to know the exact amount of rhinestone rows needed for a portion of the tumbler, you can do a swatch of rows with your stone size on a test surface and then measure each row and use the calculation to transfer to your tumbler.

    You don’t have to epoxy the rhinestones correct? Also how do you wash the cup

    • @FlynnSistersBoutique
      @FlynnSistersBoutique  Год назад

      You do not epoxy over rhinestones. That would actually ruin them. Using the proper prep and adhesive, the stones are permanent with hand washing.

    I can't figure out what size stones you use. There's mm and SS . What size do you use when you cover a cup

    • @FlynnSistersBoutique
      @FlynnSistersBoutique  Год назад +1

      I have the rhinestones used linked in the description box for you. The majority are size ss20. I ran out of space to fit ss20 on the last row, so I used ss16 to fit in that last space but preferably, you want to use the same size throughout when you honeycomb. Ss20 and ss16 are the most common size stones to honeycomb on a tumbler.
