You made my evening with a gelli plate video. It was the perfect video to relax me before bed. Your prints turned out amazing like always. Thanks for sharing.
Good evening dear Ceri, I love the colours, ooh love the finally abstract piece. When you added the stamps, Gorgeous. The last pull sheet is lovely. The cards turned out Beautiful. Thank you so much for all you share. Thank you for the conversation. Have a blessed evening dear man, hugs 🤗 ❤
Hi, Ceri. I really liked your color combos and the idea of just abstract so when you make a card it can be for either gender. You're such a great teacher. TFS!❤
Wow Ceri! Never seen this done even the cleanup makes beautiful art. Even though I love the end product. I also like the cream and rust color by itself. There is also beauty in simplicity ❤
Awesome color combination and the final cards were beautiful. I don't know how you do it, but your color combos work every time along with your doodles. Thanks for sharing 😊
It’s always helpful to see your various ways of cleaning up and using up leftovers, though I understand why you don’t always include it. It’s good inspiration.
Great cards! I need to do 2 thank you cards. My dog is good now. Yesterday, my 45 pound hound puppy opened the front door and left while I was in the shower. One neighbor had seen her in his yard and went in the house to get his leash. He was back out when I came out hysterically yelling my dog's name. Down the street a sweet lady, that I say hi to when we walk our dogs, was holding her by her collar and talking to her. Thank you cards and cookies or bread are in order.
I find when I gelli print I am more creative. I dont think I have ever heard who invented the gelli plate for momo printing. It would be nice to get a history of how it all started. I love to watch your process.
When I started making my own plates, I looked up patents for insight on best materials. I found one from October 2, 1900 (John A Just). The guy talks about “making the same”, which sounds like printing copies and uses mineral oil, casein, soap, water, and glycerin. Sounds a lot like our plates of today. Old patents can be a treasure trove:)
I recently discovered your channel, and I am binging all of the videos. I am enjoying a chance to submerge into creative world. You have a great style of teaching and topic presentation. Even with the creative play videos, you retain a subject structure throughout. I learned a lot and tried some 😁 Love your organization and the cleanup routine! ( some videos of other people are hard to watch due to mess and stains on everything...lol) Looking forward to your new exciting videos and possible swaps! 😊
I meant to say that the piece was dynamic, I actually meant that the piece has impact and movement. Sometimes I get a bit overly clever with my vocabulary and get it wrong. But I love words.
Wendy, I always suggest a 5”x7” GelPress, it’s large enough to have fun with and to get familiar with different techniques, I know some artists who have never gone larger than that. Gel plates are not cheap but if you look after them they’re for life. Make sure you watch lots of different artists working with the gel plates as there are so many things and styles you can do. Also be prepared to accept that not every print will be a winner but the more you do the more you’ll succeed.
QUESTION: hi there, Ceri! I hope you don’t mind me asking this here, but it is a question that I have been pondering for a while. I have been watching videos of some wonderful artists, such as yourself, making the most fantastic art journals. Now, however, I can’t help but ponder what it is that you do with them??? I understand journals that are meant to be a kind of chronicle or somewhere for sorting out ideas or practicing or note taking. I understand people creating art for themselves that isn’t meant to be displayed for others to view. I can’t quite get my head around, though, what one would do with a huge number of these journals … and, if someone was to be lucky enough to receive one as a gift, what would be the intended way of using it? A painting or drawing can be framed and put on display, a sculpture can be put on display, but an art journal needs to be handled and looked through in order to be properly appreciated … or am I completely missing the point???
Very good question and not the easiest to answer as I’m sure everyone would have a different answer. For me when I create pages in an art journal the end result is purely a by product of the process, taking the time to experiment, explore and create are what’s important to my well being not the finished piece of art. I will often flick through my art journals to remind myself of techniques, colour combinations, patterns, themes and styles. If I was gifted a completed art journal I would use it almost as a coffee table book, something to be thumbed through enjoying the visual journey through the pages. When I eventually pass away I hope friends will choose an art journal of mine as a keepsake of who I was. I hope that helps explain my personal view point of an art journal.
@@CeriGriffiths that answer was perfect, thank you! I had actually thought that maybe a coffee table book situation could be the best answer in the end, if one was lucky enough to receive one. I suppose you just might need to be a bit picky about the situations in which you had it out - for example, I imagine that I would be a bit upset if a toddler got strawberry jam-covered hands all over one that I had out for perusal …
Always enjoy watching your videos.
Ceri I just love watching u and listening to u explain things I want to thank u so much !!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Ceri, you do abstract so well! I love the plum purple color you created! It’s gorgeous!
Thank you so much Robin
These are so fun!
Hi Ceri. Excellent as always. TFS Hope you have a great day. 🌞
Thank you! You too Donna
Love the layering component of this vid as this technique is my creative nemesis 🙄
Great result thanks Ceri & cheers from Australia 🦘

Oooh well done love.... xxx
Ceri thank you so much. I am watching what I have missed. ❤
I love Eddie's stencil, this turned out beautifully. Oh when you pulled out that ruby red marker I about died but they turned out so great!
That was fascinating! I do appreciate no music in your videos, because to hear your thought process is part of the magic
Wonderful
Beautiful cards. So many layers it never ends. I don't have that kind of patience. But I like to watch your videos. TFS
I think making those backgrounds allows for so many ideas, eg, Zentangle doodles with fine liner pens!
❤❤❤
Beautiful ♥️
So pretty! I got lots of ideas watching you make these. ❤
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful cards😊
U have wonderful fast and style !!!!
Thank you so much 🙂 Carol
Ceri I really need more storage ideas please. I trust u and what u make ❤❤❤
I’m filming a studio tour soon so that may give you some ideas.

Tammy I think the more you look at art, the more you create art, the more your eye becomes attuned to colour and balance.
@@CeriGriffiths you have certainly become atuned to color.
I love how these turned out! The colors are gorgeous together!
❤Thanks for the link . How to.

The colors are so pretty together. It sure changes when you put a backing on them. Beautifully done ❤❤
Thanks so much 😊

Mastering the abstract Ceri❤, loving it

Love these. You referenced "diamondism" (sp?). What is that?
I meant to say that the piece was dynamic, I actually meant that the piece has impact and movement.

You piqued my interest: Dynamism - I had to look it up. Big word indeed 😊🇦🇺
😁
I’ve never worked with gel plates. Watching you makes it look fun. What would suggest for a beginner to purchase?

@@CeriGriffiths thank you!!
I’m new at this. Love the cards. What adhesive did you use to mount the art on the blank card?
I use double sided tape around the edges and glue stick in the centre.
