    I tend to pronounce it "Will-ees", but if you find some old company commercials or trade show videos, they pronounce it "Will-is.'

      Mr Willys used to pronounce his name like th old commercials would "Will-is"
      But, like you, most people including myself, just say "Willees".

      You would think the inventor would know how to pronounce his own name. Will-iss like you said, that's how it was in the commercials.

    JEEP means Just Enough Essential Parts and it was cerated during the world war.

    In Brazil, it was known as RURAL WILLYS.

      I understand Ford bought them and produced different models in south america.
