Thanks Brian. Yes, that is actually the problem I have now. Have a few filmed but no time to edit and post. Now that ammo and reloading components have become somewhat available again, I have been spending more time back at the range. I sort of stumbled on the salt guns when I couldn't get ammo for my boom sticks.
Thank you for your videos. I just ordered a 3.0 with the fiber optic sights. I also ordered a Crossman Vigilante and I'm excited about reloading the cartridges. Thank you for all the great information on reloading them.
Thanks for the feedback. Be patient for the first couple loads. It does get easier. I tried to show my progression so you don’t have to waste time figuring what works and doesn’t. And when you figure out something even better you can share it with all of us. 😁👍🏽 Thanks for watching.

Thanks Gerard. I am trying to get back into the routine, non RUclips life has been busy of late. A good thing as well. I do like this model. I would recommend this one for a first, especially if you can catch it at the introductory price right now which puts it $5 less than the standard model 3.0 Unless, the user plans on just tossing in the junk bin between uses, then I believe the standard sights would hold up better. Thanks for watching.👍🏽
Hello, I just wanna know if this gun is proper to kill scorpions, cockroaches, centipedes, spider.... or is only efficient for flies. Or for this situations I should get SHRED-ER bug gun version. Tnx so much.
Could you run a test and/or give your opinion on the Air Warriors Bug Hunter salt blaster? Is it effective at all? Are folks horning in on Bug-A-Salt? Is the competition heating up?
I'll have to look at that one. Thanks for telling me about that one. I'll probably get the major eye roll from the Mrs. if another salt gun shows up, but now I am curious. 👍🏽.
@@justanotheravgjoe1314 I can't find it sold anywhere else but Wal-Mart, and for under $20 at that, so I'm thinking it's significantly underpowered compared to the Bug-A-Salt, particularly the 3.0 and especially the Shred-er, but I'd be interested in knowing how it stacks up. I ended up buying one, because, even though the manual says it's for adults, I figure it's basically a salt-firing modification of a nerf-style dart gun and my older kids could use it if I can't. I actually fired it at my own hand and it was uncomfortable but not painful and left no mark at all. Still, it has one thing the Bug-a-Salt doesn't, something often requested: it's double-barreled, and the trigger is useable to fire each in turn, though if you only fire one barrel and release the trigger, you have to recock the other barrel. Salt discharges into the gun at each trigger pull, so if you didn't recock the barrel you fired, you'd just sprinkle salt on the ground from the unprimed part of the piece. All that being said, I don't have a Bug-A-Salt to test it against, so I can't really compare the two. One more piece of information: it accepts a Nerf scope my son let me borrow. This makes me wonder if the Bug-A-Salt mounting rail is Nerf compatible, or if Air Warriors (who generally sticks to making Nerf competetor dart blasters) literally made this by retooling a couple of the internals of one of their dart guns and left the nerf-style mounting rail because ... why bother taking it off the design?... Hope all of this is interesting, and I'm really hoping for a comparison video. Thanks for all you do for the hobbies of abug-hunting and air-gunning.
They say a stronger spring on the web site. Notice any power increase? The 3.0 is a chore to reload if your shooting 50+ times in one session. Any difference there?
Thanks Sammy. I am unsure if the Advanced Combat model has an even stronger spring than the other 3.0s. The updated feature list is on all of the 3.0 other than the sights. That being said, I did notice when shooting the other 3.0 side by side a slight difference in spring feel , but I had attributed that to the fact the older one had about 8 months of hard use. Reloading to me is the same. It is mainly a cosmetic update as far as I can tell. I like it though. Thanks for watching. 👍🏽😁
Can you make a video of the bug a salt using lemon pepper instead of salt . To see if it stronger than the salt. I've done the foil test I think it's a lot stronger.
I m waiting for the exact riffle to arrive in the mail. I red that you can do rapid fire for air born attaks. So how do you anitiate rapid fire?. Thanks
I am not sure of any actual rapid fire, I believe, (assuming it hasn't been changed since I purchased mine) is that it is the charging the rifle is easier with this model than previous models, so you are able to shoot faster, and maybe they are counting the sights for faster sight acquisition. Other than that I don't know what would make it rapid fire.
I believe what they mean by rapid fire applies to all the 3.0 models, in that the safety button is either on or off. In the previous model, the safety switch would turn on after each pump, so it was annoying having the flip the switch, and if you would forget, then you were a lot slower to get the next shot off. Thus, referring to being able to pull the trigger faster with this model as 'rapid fire'.
To me it seems all of the table salts seem to work pretty good. Coarse kosher hits hard but spread is poor. Finer salts give better spread but seem to do less damage, but for most flies you just need to hit them.
I don't believe it is any lighter than the other 3.0 models, but the 3.0s are definitely better than earlier versions, I don't recall how hard the the trigger pull was on the 2.0 as mine have all since gone to the great 🪰 hunting ground in the sky, (well actually just the one a few blocks away, I gave it to a friend.) but I remember how terribly stiff the original was. Each version seems to have improved on its predecessors. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching. 👍🏽
It seems like the only real downside with the advanced fiber optic version is that there isn’t an indicator to say that the gun has been cocked. Maybe there is and I just overlooked it?
You are totally correct. I had completely overlooked that fact when doing the video. I am not aware of any indicator on this version. I have gotten in the habit of attempting to pump when I pick it up, if the pump moves it is not charged, if it doesn't it is. Thanks 👍🏽
Garbage. You will be wasting your money. Doesn't kill anything. It's weak. I was hoping it was going to be cool but I assure you that it is junk. I am hoping that I can prevent at least one person from wasting their money
