The Adelphi Quartet plays beautifully, are in tune with each other, and we, the audience. feel their connection. I single out for special praise the Second Violinist, Esther Augusti, who LIVES to play, it seems, and gets great pleasure from playing. Keep it up, Guys, you are great. Thanks.
I believe this op.33 / 5 is also called: "How are you?" I hope you are all doing very well - Hope to see you again soon... Many Thanks for this wonderful interpretation ...
@@adelphiquartett Thank you for the answer... Excellent news, I am very happy to see you again and to enjoy your concert. Take care of yourself and see you soon ;-)
So the leader and the 'cellist (so presumably the inner parts as well) are reading from the score. This is quite normal for early rehearsal but its the first time I've seen it in performance. Perhaps this goes some way to explain their wonderful communication in their presentation of Haydn's fine work.
What with the tempo and the accentuation I'm getting just the first notes of phrases in the first violin. I'd rather hear Haydn than the people who're playing him.
Beautifully vivid performance of a work I've enjoyed many times but am now too old to play. The only part I disliked was the bit immediately after the first movement. I mean the passage that began, "If you have an enlarged prostate...." How I loathe and detest what RUclips has become, and the black hole of Google that sucks in everything it can. How tired I am of this tawdry world.
