    Another interesting video :-) Yep, first class does need a refurbish. The arm rest has seen better days but I'd be happy enough if I could be in first class :-) So part one is the appetizer and part two will be the meat and potatoes with the long haul. I am looking forward to this part of your flight :-)

      Hello Doug. Working on part 2 as we speak! Part 2 is essentially the Qantas Singapore Lounge, then supper on the plane, followed by the first class bed experience. Then there's a little surprise towards the end of the review :)

      @@eddiekhoo2046 Excellent - even better, I'm looking forward to that. I recently got an upgrade to business domestic with Qantas and enjoyed my first time ever in a Qantas lounge at Adelaide Airport which was nice (has nothing on Sydney lol). It was timely as it was a 6.05am flight so breakfast in the lounge and a comfortable snooze in a business class seat. :-)

    Unlike the majority of the RUclips aviation channels out there, this is one of the most pleasant and most straight-forward out there. Love how simple this is, and the subtitles and all that leading onward also!
    There aren’t a lot of channels out there that just deliver a good trip report like this, and Eddie is one of those guys! Majority of the others have become tiresome or straight out obnoxious!

    • @eddiekhoo2046
      @eddiekhoo2046  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you for the lengthy feedback. One day I'd like to narrate my reviews, but I really don't like the sound of my own voice. Perhaps I can hire someone to do the talking for me :p
      I don't have the time to watch many other vloggers on RUclips as there seem to be a million out there...but I hear from fans they are self-absorbed and more about them flying first class, rather than the product itself.
      Anyways, I just keep doing what I love doing :)

    • @fifthharmony339
      @fifthharmony339 5 лет назад

      Eddie Khoo waiting for your reviews are absolutely worth it honestly. I just prefer a simple, pleasant experience and you definitely deliver that in your trip reports. I’m sure if you did narrate them, it would be great as well! I just appreciate the humility you bring in going on these flights, excited and enthusiastic but yet still humbled and wanting to bring that journey along to your viewers. It makes waiting for your next videos super worth it, especially considering the time gap between one video and the next coming out!
      You are spot on about the majority of aviation channels on here. This translates even on economy reports I’ve seen from certain channels, just really bothers me if it’s considered to not be that big of a deal, but in their view it becomes such. I just find it extremely obnoxious if it’s literally not that big of a difference maker.

    Enjoyed your review so much that I am a new subscriber! Hopefully the refurbishing of the A380 will have private suites in First Class. I will not pay for First Class these days and not have a private suite. There are many airlines already that offer more privacy in their Business Class. Don't wish to sound like a snob but I have sleep apnea and just don't feel comfortable sleeping on a long haul flight unless I am in an enclosed area. If it's not available I tend to stay awake the entire time. I am sure this sounds ridiculous but I'm always afraid I'll start snoring and another passenger will throw water on me! LOL! Thanks for your comprehensive program Eddie, and Happy Travels!

    • @eddiekhoo2046
      @eddiekhoo2046  5 лет назад

      Hi John, hopefully you have a CPAP machine to keep your sleep apnoea under control!
      Sadly the refurbishment will not involve a private suite like on EK, SQ or EY. QF have hinted it will be a touch up of the current product (ie. new colour scheme, new seat fabric, more modern IFE system, etc). The first class product is a very nice business class plus product (much better than BA's), but needs to be priced accordingly.
      Take care!

    Those 10 year old seats are really showing their age. I'd expect a faster "refresh" schedule for the first class cabi n. To my eye they doesn't look a lot different to the business class suites on Qatar.

    • @eddiekhoo2046
      @eddiekhoo2046  5 лет назад +1

      The refresh is due to happen in Sept and should be complete by late 2020. QF haven't mentioned what this refresh will entail, but I think the changes will be fairly superficial.
      The big change will be in business class where they're finally replacing the last century Skybed Mk2s with the latest Business Suites. Finally direct aisle access for all in business class!!! :)

    An interesting fact about the "old school departures board" in the foyer of the First Class Lounge: it is actually the original departures board from the old Kingsford-Smith International, pre-1992. It was appropriately nicknamed the "rattle board", and is heritage listed!

QF used to have great amenities kits many years ago with l’Occitane “stuff”, even in J class.

      The catering was alright - Neil Perry has been with QF for over a decade, and many find his menus bit stale these days. The FC cabin is undergoing a refresh at the moment, and surprisingly QF have kept the exact some product (albeit with a cosmetic touchup). I guess they think this FC product should be able to keep going strong for the years to come...

    Just ok.I personally do not like the P class seats on QF and the food is not nearlly as good as other carriers like SQ or JL first class.Neil Perry's menu is out dated and a new young chef needs to re-excite the taste buds of passengers on QF in all classes.
    Personally I'd rather be pampered on SQ in First Class the Japanese Kyo seki menu is in my opinion the best in the sky.

      @@eddiekhoo2046 I get that Eddie and having flown First Class a few times, the overarching information is useful (exactly why I looked at your video in the first place) but the video could be 'snappier' ie: the points are laboured and the travelling between points eg: up escalators, down escalators, walking aerobridge, multiple welcomes on board etc don't add value to what the point of the review is - the on board service, with a quick overview of the lounge being used. You have a good number of subscribers but the best channels do have their reviews down to 15 maximum 20 mins and have subscribers in the hundreds of thousands.
      It really depends on what you think the point of your Reviews are:
      1. Are they for people wanting to know about a product and don't want the varnished version from the airlines (me and others that use First and Business)? or
      2. Are you trying to be a travel channel?
      If 1, then you need to edit much much more or 2. Well, then you have many hundreds or thousands of competitors doing exactly the same thing plus actual travel channels.
      Good luck

    At 1.48 the reception lady can hardly be bothered to even look at you. Your friendly “hi, good morning” is what you’d expect every good customer service to be saying but none of them seemed very interested. Poor service, let alone for a first class experience. I cringe each time I hear you greet them so politely, only to be met so often with an attitude of indifference.
