Act 4 Scene I finds Antonio in the grip of Shylock. He is ready to cut his forfeiture from Antonio and perhaps Antonio is sure to die after his pound of flesh is scooped out. Will Antonio die?
Portia arrives as a lawyer named Balthazar. Will she be able to save Antonio? How will she do it? Let us read on.

1. What would Shylock have to give away if Antonio lost a drop of blood? Why? (1+1)
Due to the Law of Venice....
In detail you have to write. Well tried.
First part is that he has to give away all his property to the state coffers.
2nd part - because that is the law of Venice. In the bond it was written that he could take a pound of flesh but not blood. So if there is blood loss,he has to pay.

He is a Jew na. So he is identified as a foreigner. Actually Jewish people did not have their own country till Israel was formed. They lived in Venice and other places like foreigners. The Christians felt that they are the true inmates of Venice.
