    I am someone who is striving to stay natural as long as possible. Mostly performing calisthenic exercises but I still love listening to these discussions from other backgrounds. The approach for switching things up when feeling a joint is beginning to be overused and fatigued is very sound advice.I appreciate the knowledge. Thank you.

    I'm so glad Matt said what he said about some programming that some coaches are putting out. I always found the volume for Sheiko with a straight bar to really beat up my body. There's such an overlap with movements that it's inevitable to accumulate wear and tear: bench/squat/press/deads all beat up your shoulders, upper and lower back.

    Matt is getting a lot of hate here and I don’t think it’s justified. He’s probably a bit tired of others in the industry who haven’t accomplished anything but feel they are an authority on training. Actually listen to what he is saying. He is giving some seriously useful training information.

You guys who don't like listening to him that's cool but to say he doesn't pass on information are wrong. Does he respond to everyone for free, no and but most of the questions are things he's answered in videos already. Not meat riding but alot of y'all show a significant lack of research capability.

    His nutritional knowledge is awful, absolutely terrible. He's currently suffering from some sort of kidney failure, which he seems to be blaming on acute blood pressure spikes from Valsalva maneuver/ intra-abdominal pressure from heavy lifting. While anything is possible, it's a zillion times more likely that his kidney failure renal artery dysfunction is from the truckload of red meat he has been pounding down his entire life. He speaks often about his love of red meat and beef protein.

    • @jonatanolsen37
      @jonatanolsen37 5 месяцев назад

      Yep, the science is clear on this one. Red meat increases chance of cardiovascular disease, and a very high protein intake over many years can affect your kidneys.

      Plenty of people eat a lot of beef and have healthy kidneys. Personally I think a lot of people are ignoring the elephant in the room of over 2 decades of heavy gear use. We all know it has negative health consequences if abused, but don't want to talk about it when it happens.

      @@stepheneldridge3637 Totally agree it must have had a part but Matt is very naive about gear abuse. I feel like he believes it doesn't give as much of an edge as it does. He's also one of the only people that believes Mike O'Hearn is natural.

    I've seen far more problems benching with shoulders than military presses. All types of strongman do overhead pressing, they have some the strongest and as far as know healthiest shoulders due to having strong and well built shoulders. Matt just talks about stuff he has little proof of other than his own anecdotal evidence. Matt's very much on repeat at this point. His talking points are the same every interview.

    • @mariusstrydom316

      @azulsimmons1040 День назад

      @@mariusstrydom316 No, they won't. Bench pressing has hurt more shoulders than overhead pressing as far as I've seen. Good technique overhead pressing makes for nice, strong, healthy shoulders compared to some unnatural lay on your back and push exercise. More ridiculous fear-mongering from the fitness crowd with no proof.
