The audience are not letting the situation with Amy Seimetz go... Rightfully so. She was set up to fail, and the fact that she was replaced because she was "veering too much into a female centric perspective" is probably the most jargon filled misogynistic comment I've read this month. How do you make a show about a young female musician *without* making it from her perspective... Shouldn't her perspective matter the most?
I guess they have a problem with the character "Tedros" played by the Weeknd. He should have sat this one out and just directed it, it would have been different. Just imagine if Antonio Banderas or Ricky Martin played Teodros, the outcome would have been different. And I give him credit for jumping right in! He just needs a little experience.
My husband and I thought the same thing. There has been great actors and unlikable characters in hustle and flow that makes you actually like the character

Both artists could be LRD's grandparents. Abel Tesfey is close to her in age, and is therefore "less suspicious" from a narrative standpoint I guess.
