Tips And Comments:
Playing Technique:
Played betweenn pickups with low to middle strength. Just neck pickup activated
Gear Sound:
Added bass and cut a little treble, just to get out of major fret buzz and high end
About The Song:
Ok, so hard song, really. I wouldn't recommend it for begginer/medium players. I'll probably clarify in comments too, but there's a bar in the last part that's wrongly played by me and the last fast part had to be re recorded alone, just to get it better, it was a really tricky part. Transcribed from studio version. Positions made by me. I think it's a good and comfortable transcription
Need more tips? Just comment!
*All the tabs in this channel are created by me, if you have any advice in the transcription feel free to comment!

Hey guys, soo this was a real hard song to play. There's a bar in the last part that i kind of improvised and not followed the tab. Also the last fast part had to be recorded after the take to get a better sound. Tricky song but real fun.
Were you reading the tablature or did you have the song memorized?
Most of the time i'm reading. It would be hard to memorize all the songs considering the amount that i upload
+CoverSolutions I can't even play the fast part in schism - tool so compared to that You did a very good job
Omg omg. lol you are the best! you once again showed the world how it's done with your skills and open doors to other fans to be WOW by your skills and tabs. so sorry I choose that song lol. lately I've been going through a lot of depression over a love one who was admitted for mental help and watching this person getting deranged is even harder. I could tell you all about it and it would be way to much to explain. I'm 32yrs old and is god awful seeing someone you love slowly fading to a very early Alzheimer in the age of 28. enough that she forget my name. is painful, but this video was a shrine for my moment and I shall learn it religiously to face harsh reality yet to come. thank you CS.
Thanks for the support and words my friend. I wish you the best in your life and don't be discouraged by the strikes that often takes on us. Lucky there's things as music to help us get through. Much love
As a bass player, and a longtime fan of Cowboy Bebop, I am speechless
@@NicoRockatansky nah this one is better
I have no earthly idea how the bassist could ever commit the whole thing to memory. This tab is crazy.
no memory for sure, just knowing hot to play on each chord
Hahahahaha 😂
Nice comment OP
I use this songs to track my progress through bass - every now and then I’ll come back to it and be able to play a little bit cleaner each time :)
same
3:55 My favorite part, I love the way it sounds

Literly melting Mt ears 😭
A) I didn't know this song could be played by mortals. B) I didn't know this song could be played on a fretted bass. C) I believe this is the greatest bass line ever recorded. D) You are my hero and I am going back to the woodshed.
A) it can't...
David Scothern Well observed Sir.
@@Whammytap four years later... I can play most of it. There's a fast bit maybe 3/4 of the way through that I'm still not even going to try.
But - B) the original's played on a fretless? I think that may be even more awe-inspiring. It's challenging enough when you only have to land on the right frets!
@@davidscothern6900 My bass teacher thought it was played on a fretless, and I just assumed he was right for 10 years. You, OP, and some others seem to have no trouble reproducing it on a fretted bass, though. ;)
@@Whammytap I trust your bass teacher, to be honest. I'm doing a questionable reproduction of Coversolutions' fine effort and I suspect I don't sound that much like the original! But I have immense respect for anyone that can play fretless - one of the things I like about a fretted bass is that it plays the right note as long as your fingers are within the frets. Take that guardrail away and my accuracy would go over a cliff...
The line at 1:40 right before the chorus always gets me. I love it so much. I wish I owned a bass.
get one, man!
@@arcanehornet wish it was that easy man
@@silvasen1985why is not that easy? I am considering learning an instrument and i might go with bass instead of guitar
@@tyreseX-dd1kz i was talking money lol, learning an instrument depends all in you and you shouldn't let anyone else tell you otherwise, learning guitar is a gateway to learning bass and vice versa, it's your call and you can always choose again later
The bass in this song always stood out and I’ve been hesitant to learn it by ear because there are so many varied riffs throughout the piece. Great job man really and thanks!
this artist/song makes me cry, it makes me yearn for my long gone childhood.
you're gonna carry that bass
been watching your tutorials for years and I just stumbled on this just now.
I'm not even going to try this one for a while, -- just keep coming back to this cover and listen... Keep working on other stuff, and keep coming back to this, and eventually I'll give it a serious effort. That worked on The Real Me, -- hopefully that approach will work with The Real Folk Blues! Thanks!
The bass in the original song always gets me, how a subtle sound can really stand out is fascinating. Now I'm able to hear it clearly, it's outstanding! Keep up the good work!
this was the most detailed and on-point tab that i found of this song. thank you for all the hard work!
Oh wow the nostalgia hit like a wave.
Man, that fly... When I was playing together with the video I wasn't really sure if it was in the video or in my room, because I was focusing only on the tab.
I've been waiting for this song for god knows how long, and you pulled it off! I must say, fantastic work. I love your channel. Keep up the good work!

It is heavily inspired by Jamerson, isn't it? The whole bass part is kind of improvised and almost never repeats itself.
