- A shootout in an Oakland jewelry store was caught on video. It shows a worker open fire on two men trying to rob the business. KTVU spoke with the worker who fired at the intruders and scared them away.

I do agree with what you said, i think under such circumstances, the police dept needs to give out a rental in the meantime. Kinda like if your car is in the shop for damages, insurance will cover the rental. If cops have to take away the gun, then they should either provide another one, or have a cop stationed outside permanently until gun is returned.

Hospitals in California are required to notify law enforcement immediately whenever a person comes in with a gunshot wound. And yeah, police do respond to these.
