terry martin new york does the same thing with their rearmount/normal ladders. Just better for the type of truck company work they do. They do have a hose piece designed to run up then ladder for master stream operations though.

I can't answer your question. They have a good amount of tower ladders and snorkels to cover. It's never been an issue.
