a slow mo shot of your hand at release would really help with seeing how the difference in hand position. seeing the difference down lane with the overlay was cool. I'm sure you could do the same thing in a freeze frame and the point of release off your hand.
@@BowlingScience Yes. I see your hand positions but I my biggest problem is how i exit the ball. I try to come out thumb first but it ends up coming out minutely quicker than my fingers which the result is little to no rotation forward, side or otherwise on the ball.
Dayummmm good breakdown of hand positions, I use all 3 that u reviewd, great breakdown, now I can forward this to some people I have discussed this with 🙏🏾
This is super useful. I’ve been struggling with the “correct” hand position and letting my thumb rotate up in the backswing. Pointing my index finger to target made it easy to fix a lot of things. I’m more consistent and get a good amount of spin. And I can make easy repeatable adjustments. I never thought of using the suitcase as a technique when needed. Great stuff. All your vids are great! A++
Thanks! This was well before we got better mics and learned how to better capture audio in the bowling center. Thanks for watching and enjoying the content.
Getting back into bowling since a work Xmas party at Main Event...(I never was able to throw a Hook or Curve)...I seemed to always release with my hand on top. Just recently took a video and notice I have no balance or follow threw...Mike, any directions would be helpful...I love your style and follow through...your game gets me to the lanes more often!!!
I love Bowling Science! Because....science!!! And you have great info on here 😁 How do I get a Bowling Science t-shirt? Tell Mo that I said thanks for the lessons at the seminar at ABC West Lanes and that I look forward to seeing him again.
Very Very interesting videos. The resin/ polished urethane method you use makes me want to get a Hybrid of some sort and make it a left handed layout. Keep it up!
All I saw was each release had the ball entering the pocket at the same angle. Suitcase it every time, it’s easier on the wrist and you won’t end up with arthritis in that wrist when you get old.
I throw classic suitcase and it doesn't look like yours! Also classic suitcase makes me a Vintage Full Roller, when you switch to suitcase do you become a Full Roller? I would have liked to have seen slo mo close ups of your hand at release though to better understand how the ball is coming off.
"classic suitcase" sounds like the way my dad taught me in '68. no rotation, they had hard rubber balls (hooks were only on tv with Carmen Salvino). It has just been they way I bowl. Only recently (10 years) did I start to get a clue on how the "hooking" balls work. i still like the "classic suitcase". the most comfortable and easiest to be consistent with. I would like to see more videos that explore it.
I appreciate the kind comments... I am 450 to 500 off my hand. Comes.from slow hooking conventional balls for 10 years before moving up to fingertip... that'll train your hand to get around the ball.
I’ve seen many videos about playing the inside part of the ball and keeping the elbow in. I have a nasty habit of breaking my wrist back, overturning the ball, not keeping my elbow in, all that stuff. I feel like I’m capable of fixing these habits but one concern I have about playing the inside part of the ball is wouldn’t that cause a more muscled swing, and your swing going behind your back? And also, I feel like that would just mess up my ball rotation, correct me if I’m wrong. But to me, placing my hand on the inside part of the ball is such an unnatural position
Hold on… you said Pinboys at the beach? Is that in Virginia Beach cus I’ve been there… that’s actually why I looked up this video cus the last time I was there I had no idea what I was doing… what are the odds I find a video with the same place I bowl in it
Adjust your wrist for your individual flexibility, but yes, the suitcase style hand position is my finishing hand position in the follow through, so when I start there as well, my hand stays in that position throughout delivery, however my wrist still rotates around the ball some...
I appreciate the positive feedback... I get what you are saying though, and will improve future videos. I work hard on my content, and will continue to do so.
You are a walking encyclopedia with all the knowledge you've accumulated over the years thank you for sharing it with us
I love the overlays in your videos. It really heals to visualize what you are teaching. Keep up the great work!

Great suggestion!

1st time watcher. Best, straight-forward video on how what happens with axis-tilt; and how to change axis-tilt; I've seen! I'm subscribing!

Hey thanks for explaining the subtleties, and illustrating them,
unlike other vids I've seen.
The breakdown is a 10, the live audio is a bit muddy, and the music totally owns lol- lovin it

Great Explanation and visual differences with each hand position. I learned a lot today!
This video was just what I needed to hear. Will try it out this week!

Awesome video! Watching the balls with different hand positions overlay is great
Great video. I like seeing how other bowlers create their style!
This is an amazing video! What did I just find?! 🤯
The final hand position that was demonstrated looked like the one that Mike Aulby and Joe Salvemini often used on TV.
Awesome video! Request: Can you explain which of these hand positions you use for your straight ball, I.e. 10 pin spare pickup? Thanks.
Love seeing the squatch hybrid shots. Mine just arrived two days ago!
Never knew Mo had a son! Definitely a cool dude and getting my sub! Keep killin it Mikey! 🤙
Hey Mike good info on hand positions will definitely practice it on the lanes...
i Used some of these tips today in practice!
Never considered using a suitcase release other than a two rev ten pin shot, I’ll have to give it a try
same
Great video. I'd love an updated two-handed version of this.
I love Bowling Science!
Because....science!!! And you have great info on here 😁

This video makes sense, thanks!
Great instructions.
Awesome video maybe some side shots so we can see the release point , thanks new subscriber
Check out episode 10! I just added some new angles... let me know what you think!

can the zing hybrid be used on dry/short oil?
Thank you as I struggle with this very thing...
What’s your rev rate? You got an insane release that is basically perfect.
I appreciate the kind comments... I am 450 to 500 off my hand. Comes.from slow hooking conventional balls for 10 years before moving up to fingertip... that'll train your hand to get around the ball.
Now just need to know about how you have your wrist in the beginning setup position
New subrsciber, that was very helpful thank you!

Yeah man! That’s the place!!! So glad you found the video!
Another great video!
Great tip
Nice job bro 👌🏿
It's Pure Science!
Who do you go to for coaching?
Mo Pinel has been my only coach for 27 years.
Suit case position seems uncomfortable, do you release at that position or hold it like that the whole time?
Adjust your wrist for your individual flexibility, but yes, the suitcase style hand position is my finishing hand position in the follow through, so when I start there as well, my hand stays in that position throughout delivery, however my wrist still rotates around the ball some...
dope thank u
What is your hand position to throw straight at spares?
I use a flat wrist with my hand under the ball, and follow through completely flat. The ball rolls purely end over end on my spare...
Bowling Science Thanks!
Fuck hand positions bro.
We need to talk about haircuts and hygiene!
😆
🤣🤣🤣
Your not rolling the ball your dependence on speed and oil.
your video makes you look like a bowling Shiva lol . #momudra
You need to improve the audio of your video
So...you want to show a tutorial on hand positions, but neglect to show your hand position in ANY of the shots?
Hmmm....great job there bud!
I appreciate the positive feedback... I get what you are saying though, and will improve future videos. I work hard on my content, and will continue to do so.
Check out episode 10! I corrected my error...
@@BowlingScience yeah...just delete the last video! The 2nd one is the only one we need to see! Great job.
