I had such a great time exploring the Spanish cities of Cordoba and Cadiz in the Andalusia region. The history of the region is fascinating not least because it was ruled by Muslims for some 500 years!! The Muslim legacy is still visible in the architecture, food and even language. Did you know about Spain’s Muslim history? Don’t forget to leave a comment, like and subscribe for more videos! 🇪🇸🇪🇸

I really loved the vibe of this episode with you interacting a lot with the locals. Also seemed like you really enjoyed yourself. I would too. Andalucia is my favorite place in the world. Any chance of visiting further down south in Costa del Sol? Málaga is amazing.

Very nice to watch Angelica show us the stunning places of Andalusia. Very well documented. I bet Angelica loves this place very much, and I can see she looks like a bonita Andalusian as well !
Hello, I advise you to read the old history books that prove the existence of Muslim Arabs and Berber Amazigh Muslims in Andalusia and they had scientific, literary and even musical contributions in Andalusia and developed agriculture and made machines to transport water and developed methods of irrigation of agricultural crops and excelled in medicine, astronomy, mathematics and trade, and even they protected the Jews from the massacres of the Spanish Inquisition. Only the liar and falsifier of history will deny the virtue of Muslims over Andalusia and its development.
Malini youre storytelling skills are incredible, thank you for showing this incredible city. I was in Cordoba last year and you can really feel how special Andalusia is, it has something very few places have
Last year I watched your video on Granada and made the decision to go. I spent one week in Granada and Madrid last month and had an amazing time. After this I'll have to add Andalucía for next year's trip xD

Your ethnicity reveal is one most tempting reasons I have ever heard to support a RUclips channel. I know 2 clues - your Spanish has a very good Castilian accent, and you also speak pretty good Italian. I guess I could flip a coin.
"La bella de Cádiz tiene ojos de terciopelo". An old french song singing by Louis Mariano "la Belle de Cadix à des yeux de velours, la belle de Cadix vous invites à l'amour ..." Thank you Angelica 🙏🤓 AN HISTORICAL OVERVIEW OF ANDALUCIA, SPAIN THE PREHISTORIC BEGINNINGS Neanderthal man is known to have lived on the Rock of Gibraltar, 50,000 years ago. In about 8,000 BC an influx of North African tribes established farming settlements throughout the region, and these people are known today as the Iberians. Andalucia's seaboard was extensively settled by the Phoenicians, who established a chain of trading posts, founding the sea port of Cadiz in 1100BC - which makes its Europe's oldest city - and strongly influencing the way of life of the native Iberians. The Phoenicians were followed by the Celts, who in 800 BC moved south across Europe and into Andalucia. By 700 BC the Tartessus Kingdom was flourishing in Andalucia, and a century later Greek sailors founded trading ports along its shore. By the year 500 BC, the Carthaginians had colonised southern Spain.

“The Dogs of God,” is an excellent read which chronicles the intersection of Moors, Christians and Judaism over 1,000 years leading to the commission of Columbus by Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand to replenish their coffers from the centuries long efforts to drive the Moors out of Europe. Every thing mentioned in this clip is fully articulated in the book. I’ve read it five times, that’s how great it is. Lastly, the title is what Catholic priest were called during that period and “the Moors slayer,” represented Saint James.

Andalusia has cultural influences from its long and varied history which is why it’s such a fascinating region of Spain to explore, I really love it ❤❤ thank you for watching!
Spain 🇪🇸 is definitely one of my favourite countries 🫶🏽. This country has a lot more to offer than Barcelona & Madrid ( and don’t get me wrong I love these cities 🙈 ).
Breaking points of Spanish history: Celts, Hannibal, Pompei, Fall of Rome, Ummayyad Al-Andalus, Reconquista, Spanish-Ottoman War over Mediterrane, Discovery of Americas, Hayreddin Barbarossa vs. Andrea Doria, English-Spanish war, fall of Spahisn Habsburgs, Bourbonian Dynasty, Franco, Golden Generation of La Massia, Malini shooting this video about Spain
Before the moors conquered most of the country from the Vlll to XV century, it was ruled by the visigod, tribes coming from the north and west central Europe.
If the term “Moor” seems familiar but confusing, there’s a reason. Though the term can be found throughout literature, art, and history books, it does not actually describe a specific ethnicity or race. Instead, the concept of Moors has been used to describe alternatively the reign of Muslims in Spain, Europeans of African descent, and others for centuries. Derived from the Latin word “Maurus,” the term was originally used to describe Berbers and ethnic groups from the ancient Roman province of Mauretania in what is now North Africa. Over time, it was increasingly applied to Muslims living in Europe. Beginning in the Renaissance, “Moor” and “blackamoor” were also used to describe any person with dark skin.
Thanks for the video, interesting to see the Catholic Church within the Mosque, maybe a bit prophetic, even though I thought we might see you milking a few cows in Andalusia!😃🐮👍

Andalusia was not populated by Arabs but had a Muslim culture. Many people confuse having culture with population.
It literally was conquered by the Umayyads, which was an Arab empire

Nice!!!
Thanks!
