    Thank you for this. I'm just getting started and need all the help I can get. Can you please tell me where to find the large metal for stamping and obviously other uses, I bought one but it's small, 4x4. And the stand you're placing the mesh on for torching, I've seen several but yours appears taller thsn what I have found. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Live your tutorials always so informative.

      Hi Corine, I bought the tripod used in the videos years ago. I don't recall where it came from. But, it's about 10 inches tall. I generally purchase enameling supplies from Schlafer Emamels. They are an approved dealer of Thompson Enamels. They have an extensive catalog on-line. Good luck with your projects.

    So fantastic, thanks for this! I knew I needed to do a sample to attach to my enamels (like you have), but a color chart never occurred to me.
    Would you mind telling me more about your ventilation? I've read a lot about various options, and frankly, I find the whole thing a bit overwhelming. Any help you're able to offer would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!!!

      I'm so glad that you enjoyed the color chart video. Here is a link to our video on how to make a simple ventilation system: ruclips.net/video/lsdUeQ2ckS4/видео.html
      Be sure that you have fresh air coming into your work space as you vent bad air out.

    Thank you, it is a fantastic site but, how many colors do you think we should have to start with (strange question) and they all look fantastic.

      Hi Frank, I recommend that you develop a color palette that you want to use in your work and order the colors that you need. Also, you might want to consider your budget. If you can't make up your mind, you can always order a color sampler. You won't get much of each color with the sampler. But, it might help you to decide.

    Hi. Nice work. I have one question. This enamels are not necessary to wash them before use?

    • @OnlineJewelryAcademy
      @OnlineJewelryAcademy  7 лет назад

      Hi Dimitris, This video obviously did not cover that topic. But, yes, it is wise to wash enamels before using them. The washing process will ensure that your colors are as bright as they can be. But, the enamels can be used without washing as well. Good luck with your projects.

      When I use them without washing the result is a disaster

      Oh no! Well, I guess you are stuck with having to wash all of your enamels. It slows things down quite a bit. But, it can make a huge difference. Thanks for your comments.

      Please clarify what you mean by "wash enamels" before using them.

    Is it possible to fire the enamel in a microwave kiln?

    • @OnlineJewelryAcademy
      @OnlineJewelryAcademy  7 лет назад +1

      I misunderstood your question. But, after reading it again and doing some research, I realize that this is a product that I am not familiar with. I called a manufacturer and was told that the microwave kiln is designed for simple glass fusion or pottery firing. They had no information about any enamelist using it. If we have access to one in the future, and it works, the OJA will post a video on the subject.

    When you are using third and fourth and fifth color and so on, first colors will get fire over and over again. Will that change the shades in those first colors? Also, instead of torch, if we use kiln, do we need to change anything to make it work? Thank you!

      Hi Minal, Firing the enamels multiple times won't change their color. But, they will slightly sink into the white base color. If you're using a kiln you don't need to do anything different. Have fun enameling.
