They have been hoodwinked into thinking if the feds cut social programs like food stamps they will pay less taxes and the black man will suffer although more whites are on food stamps because their jobs pay less than the poverty level and GOP social program cut savings are just diverted to more windfall tax cuts for the filthy rich and the federal deficit grows astronomically with little to no infrastructure or other projects done which benefits the majority. So, the common laborers rob themselves of beneficial social programs and end up owing and paying more in taxes in the long run due to devalued currency/inflation and interest on the huge debt and like GWB and Trump eventually a collapsed economy. Just call it blind ignorance. All that crap about Trump's trade war tariffs benefiting the taxpayer when foreign countries pay these penalties was BS. and added to the cost for raw materials for domestic manufacturers which translate in higher consumer prices. A record near $8 billion in additional federal debt was ran up by Trump in just four years most of it due to extravagant spending and windfall tax cuts for the rich. Minuscule tax cuts recognized by the common taxpayer were more than erased due to the inflation that followed. Trump promised his rich doners that he would make them even richer, and he did just that while making the majority poorer and indebted to the federal government like never before.

The problem is that Graham's phone call wasn't recorded, so he has legal wriggle room.
Raffensberger was apparently so disturbed by that call that he started recording phone calls - which is why we have the recording of Tяump's call.
If adding Graham to the case added years to the litigation then it wouldn't be worth it. He can always be indicted later.

He rebuilt military putting them on a new level and have created a Space force ( China and Russia full steam ahead with Space force and Biden canceled that). Creating operation "Warp Speed", showing tremendous leadership at the toughest times for the nation the vaccine was developed and delivered to America for less than a year when nobody believed possible laughing at it calling it "Trump's vaccine". He asked NATO members to do 2% of the GDP as they supposed to and they did except Germany and we all see today how right he was. He signed into
the law " The First Step Act" allowing convicts ( predominantly Afro Americans who served longer than half of their sentences for nonviolent crimes ) out of prison as a 2nd chance ( and Van Jones from CNN was staying behind the President applauding to him...).
The most impressive achievement of a Biblical proportion is an Abraham accord in the Middle East creating a peace in the region and nominated for Nobel peace Prize ( I think two times). If Obama ( who I voted twice for, has sent " Special Envoy for Middle East Peace " led by George Mitchell who came back empty handed ) did third of it not to mention half of it Democrats, Medea and you too would call him Greatest President ever but he didn't. President Trump did. Did I mention record unemployment for all of the minorities in this country?
He stopped N Korea testing nuclear weapon and made them to meet with S Korea for the first time in history of both Koreas (absolutely remarkable achievement in foreign policies).
Never started a war, never let anybody else to start a war, using his skill to talk and negotiate with Kings and Queens and Dictators ( "Art of the deal" ), standing strong to the World's Powers to their amusement, he made the World a peaceful place for the entire four years making America great, working for the People and not for the special interests groups, marking his years in the White House as an unequivocal success he did every one and each campaign promise in spite of being harassed, viciously attacked and openly sabotaged by all of the Media, Big Tech, hostile Congress and everybody else who wasn't lazy on the daily bases with one purpose only to bring him down. Not a fair kind of comment whether from the right or left. As Hillary Clinton found out, you don't win friends and influence people by mocking or demonizing them. And if you want to win elections, you have to influence people. Or are we just giving up on defeating Lindsey or whoever the Republicans put up if he retires, when the Democratic goal should be 60 seats in the Senate by January, 2029? To do that, you have to win one seat in places like Indiana, Kansas, both Carolinas, Florida, Iowa, Texas, and win the second seat in Maine, Ohio, Wisconsin, while holding on to what you've got.
1,142,000 South Carolinians voted against Graham in 2020. He got 8.5% less of the vote than Tim Scott two years later. Let's not tar and feather the whole state from the left. That's what Republicans do when they talk about NY, CA, IL.

When i was a young man in my teens and twenties i worked in the oil field in louisiana and texas. I learned one thing real fast. The older hands had an unwritten code with the biggest thing of all being that you stand behind what you said and did. And when it gets tough you dig down and get it done WITHOUT whinning. You did NOT want to be the guy who was refered to as a worm. Being a worm was the lowest worst possible kind of person and was just not tollerated.

I agree 100%. That type of thing could be used to influence a senator, so it had to be checked out by the FBI etc and the report would have been classified. And then Trump got it and did just that, used it to blackmail a senator.

But here is a short version: Being incapable of accepting defeat against Joe Biden, Donald Trump declared the election stolen, and used any rumor and conspiracy theory to advocate that view. His problem was that neither the FBI who investigated the alleged incidents, nor the DOJ, found the claims of massive voter fraud to be fact. Nor did 60 courts - including the Supreme Court - who dismissed as insufficiant every case brought to prove voter fraud. There simply wasn't fraud of a magnitude large enough to shift the victory of the states in question from Biden to Trump. While this was going on there was also a plan B: to convince vice president Mike Pence to reject the electors from 6 states, so the Republican controlled 6 states could appoint new electors that would vote for Trump instead of Biden. This happened after both the FBI and DOJ had concluded there had not been enough voter fraud to influence the election result, and after many of the attempts to prove voter fraud in courts had failed. Pence also, having sought legal counsel, informed Trump again and again that he couldn't do what Trump wanted. His role was simply to count the votes and declare who would be president. He had no legal right to neither ignore or dismiss electoral votes, which would be what he did, if he should refer the matter back to the states.
Whether it was Pence's defiance, or a plan C, will be speculations, but on January 2nd. 2021 Donald Trump made a phone call to Raffensberger, who was in charge of the election in Georgia. By this time all the counting and re-counting of votes had been done. 60 courts - including the Supreme Court - had dismissed as insufficient all claims of voter fraud. So when Trump in this call "asked" Raffensberger and his people to "find me (Trump) 11 780 votes, one more than we got..." he is literally asking Raffensberger to steal the election in his favor, by "finding" 11 780 votes which doesn't exist, so Trump can win the state of Georgia and get enough electoral votes to become president. It is the timing of that call - after all the counting, re-counting and legal options have been exhausted - that makes it a crime. There wasn't 11 780 votes to be found, and Trump knew it. He was trying to force Raffensberger and his people to steal the election. Raffensberger is a Republican, if you don't know.
All the talk about weaponizing this and that for political purposes is BS and intentional lies. It doesn't matter who you are, when you break the law that should have consequences. And when trying to bully vice president Pence and election officials like Raffensberger to break the law for his benefit, Trump broke the law - and should be punished for it. And so should all those that gave into Trump's pressure and assisted him in his coup attempt. Had it not been for Pence and Raffensberger, this coup could easily have succeeded, but not unlikely led to a full civil war
January 6th. If the storming of Congress was part of the coup plan, or if it was a consequence of Trump going off script and telling his supporters to go to the Capitol, is so far unclear. What is certain is that members of Proud Boys and Oath keepers used violence on Capitol police, and used a police shield to break open a window so they could gain access to the building. But if this was intended by Trump, or something they came up with on their own, remains to be seen. But some of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers have already been convicted. Four of them this last week, receiving sentences of 15, 17, 18, and 22 years for their crimes. The one getting 18 years was the one who broke the Congress window with a police shield. But not all those who entered the Congress building entered through that window. It being a crime to enter a guarded building without permission, everyone - including those who entered peacefully through doors that had been opened - are guilty of illegal trespass. And those who attempted to gain access through locked and baricaded doors inside the building (like the woman who was shot by Capitol security), are guilty of even more than just trespassing.
The FBI having gone through CCTV footage inside the building, and news footage and police bodycams outside the building, have detailed knowledge of who was where, and did what. Non of them were found to be Antifa or BLM members in Maga costumes, as was one of the "explanations" right wing media offered shortly after. All of them - and remember that footage of the various incidents have been key evidence - have been supporters of Trump, and this has also proved a fact about those convicted of crimes in and around the Congress building that day.
