  • After discovering Rita's style system at the end of last year, and attending a webinar and working through the foundations course, I booked myself in for a gentle guidance.
    Here I'll share how the GG went and what the outcome was!

    Gentle grace definitely describes you. Have you tried putting everything you've learned aside for a while and let your creative self rest? Style is a very abstract and creative process. Step away from it for a while and just get dressed. Do things that inspire you and make you happy. Don't worry about showing up the "wrong"way. Try it for a wek or 2. When you come back to it, analyze the details of the outfits your style muses wear. Is it a silhouette, color combination, hairstyle etc? Use what youve learned a a filter to incorporate it into what suits you. You'll be surprised how your creativity will bounce back after a break. You look beautiful in all of your videos!!

      That's a great suggestion, thank you. i've been trying to do that this week, just grabbing what I'm drawn to in the morning when I've gotten dressed. Not putting any pressure on it, not judging how I look either. It's been a nice process so far :) I've taken pictures too so I can look back and analyse (but again, not being judgy or picky). Thank you for this :)

    I relate with the pickiness. I’ve taken up sewing my own clothes so I can have exactly what I want. The downsode is that my skills aren’t 💯 yet so mistakes are still present in my garments, I’ll get there though

      Practice makes perfect! I’m envious of those who are very creative like that. Perhaps I’ll take it up as a hobby 😊

    The words "Gentle Grace" describe you perfectly! Especially when it comes to the vibe that you give in your videos (I believe it is the same in real life😄)!
    Thank you for sharing your experience with us❤
    P.S. You look so beautiful😍❤️

    Definitely inspired me to look into Rita's style system! I know what you mean in terms of trying to fit the tickboxes of essences, systems, body types, etc. I use a checklist when buying clothes now - does it fit my style keywords? Does it work for a Theatrical Romantic? Is it in the Winter season? etc. But actually, the most important thing is just trying things on - clothes can make you feel great sometimes even if they don't exactly fit every single tickbox. And it's a journey - thank you for taking us on your style adventure :)

      You’re welcome, thanks for watching 😊 you’re absolutely right, style is a journey and if clothing makes you feel great then it doesn’t matter how many tickboxes get ticked!

    I had a gentle guidance session with Rita yesterday! I love her system, it so helpful and she is so lovely. I’m also a Gentle Grace and an HOC Autumn, our style journey sound so similar, I also get hung up on ticking all the boxes and finding the perfect items, to the point where I end up buying nothing, I was also so shocked when she told me it was ok to be picky. I need to work to being much softer with myself. It’s a journey for sure.

      Wow we really do have similar journeys! Haha I was the same about the pickiness, I thought she would tell me to be more lenient but it's actually something to embrace.

    I feel that I’ve done a similar journey, I used to just buy things without much forethought and I also ended up wanting to find a more consistent style and went down the colour season/kibbe rabbit holes. I came out the other side having learned a few handy things, but most importantly I’ve learned what rules I don’t want to adhere to. Like it or not, culturally colours and shapes give off different vibes. Eg, baby pink objectively suits me well, but I don’t think it’s a colour that is representative of my personality or how I want to show up in the world. A flowy dress may look better on another body type, but I think it matches my whimsical nature. I think that’s where we learn that as helpful as style guides can be, they can only take us so far. In the end there has to be that additional self reflection, a deeper understanding of self, and decision making on top of all these ideologies do decide which ones to take on board, and which ones to drop by the wayside. So, long way of saying, I get where you’re at, and trust me it will fall into balance in the end and come good!

      This comment is brilliantly articulated! Style guides are just that, a guide, not a set in stone place of rules 😊

    Just a thought: But if you're so picky about your clothes, you might wanna learn how to sew and draft sewing patterns. It can be a very FUN process to learn it and your own creations will most likely be EXACTLY what you want. There will be mishaps and frustration on the way, but it's well worth it in my opinion.
    I like Rita's system by the way. I do suspect I fall into the left + down quadrant, but closer to the middle of all four quadrants. But I haven't watched her more recent videos yet, I didn't have that much time for social media in the past couple of months.

      That’s a very good suggestion! I’m not particularly ‘crafty’ but no harm in trying! From how you’ve described your style in the past I also think left down would work for you.

    Rita seems very nice! Being also very picky, I went through a hole catalogue of clothes today and nothing was perfect. Wish I had the time, money and determination to learn sewing.

    Even though I'm left up, I still find the issue with perfectionism relatable. I still don't know my archetype, but it would be interesting to get a gentle guidance.

      Ooh left up is so intriguing to me as I view that as the opposite of my placement! I admire the creativity and boldness that is often apparent in left up 😊if you do get a GG please let me know how it goes!

      I use amethyst style key and I have a very "up" essence: my "home archetype" is Lady Heretic. I notice that perfectionism is often present in Left Up people indeed. Rita has even addressed it in her video about magical ethereal style esthetics

    I think so many women are way too harsh to themselves when it comes to looks and styles. I like the way you talk about this gentle aproach. Also you can learn a lot when you try on clothes you end up not buying for some reason. There is always something you liked because otherwise you wouldn't have even tried it on in the first place.

    • @vickilouise7764
      @vickilouise7764  3 месяца назад +2

      Unfortunately you’re right, we as women are so harsh on ourselves. I agree, there’s things to learn about what you both keep and don’t buy.

    As always, I found your video interesting and thought provoking. I was thinking as you were describing your style that, to me, it's approachable elegance. BTW how did you figure out your celebrity style role models?

    • @vickilouise7764
      @vickilouise7764  3 месяца назад +1

      Thank you so much! Approachable elegance - I like that 😊 my style role models are people I’m just naturally drawn to, I either like their style and take inspiration from it, or I like their style but accept that it isn’t relevant to me at all. So for eg Rihanna, love her style but it wouldn’t translate well on me, but I love Emma watsons style and think her outfits would suit me.

    Omg, I'm the same with the pickiness / OCD 🥲 Sometimes, I can't stand a garment I liked from one day to the other. That's why I sometimes feel like I have nothing to wear. 😅
