Rita! I think it finally clicked for me: I identify so much with the Explorer archetype. This system has been so illuminating because I was emotionally abused as a child and told I was bad/mean, and that has stuck with me in my styling. In the kibbeverse I thought I was dramatic (turns out I’m FN), in color theory I thought I was Dark autumn (I’m really true spring), and in your system I thought I was Left+Up because the image I’ve been holding of myself has been that of dark/edgy/dangerous etc. But really listening to you talk about this and just FEELING with my gut has made it clear I really have a gentle soul that is easily hidden behind visual “stuff” and that I primarily need to honor my emotional connection to my clothing pieces
A friend told me I'm "Right Down, The Main Character" and was now looking more into it, it makes a lot of sense!! It's so fascinating, people have always told me I kinda dress up like a Pokémon trainer and I find it funny cause I just try to be comfy with clothes I find cool and look nice... But I somehow always look like I stand out without meaning to 🙃
Yesss, as a R+D woman this is making so much sense to me and I love that there is so much specificity and expansiveness in how I can locate myself within the quadrant.
Hearing you explain the right down quadrant, makes everything make so much sense!!! I like having outfits I wear for Me To Do Life and have them fit the situations I’m in. It never occurred to me that people think about clothes in a different way.
Oh yes. Illuminatrix as the Left Up of the Right Down. I've always felt a kind of kinship with LU but I've never been sure if it wasn't just wishful thinking - apparently it's the right *dose* of LU in my very obvious RD. I feel illuminated now. "Moving through life with a sense of wonder" is eerily true, I've even felt a bit guilty for that at times (will it not look as if I had no real/adult issues to solve?), and at the same time I feared it has no place in a corporate setting - lol, quite the contrary. They take me more serious when I express it. Thanks for this overview Rita!
I appreciate you so much! You have brought spirituality into fashion and personal style. It truly feels like a spiritual experience when I figure out which archetype I am! You are a genius. Thank you for your contribution ❤️
Yesss! This one is finally here! I know I'm definitely right/down - yours is the first style system where I was instantly able to identify where I belonged. I love how you break down the archetypes, and it made me realize I'm probably somewhere between the Sweetheart or possibly the Gentle Grace (or I aspire to the latter). I'm trying to work on being more deliberate with my style, since so much of style for me is about getting the right fit -- not easy when you're petite and pear-shaped like me. I rarely gave myself permission to ask, how do I *want* to dress -- it was mostly about, what can I find that actually fits me? But these inspirations are great. One note: I'd love if you would expand your celebrity inspirations to show some with different body types, shapes and sizes, too.
Yet another awesome video. The expanded archetypes are incredible and I know I'm not the only one who was on pins and needles waiting for this. Everytime I think this system can't get any better you surprise and delight. I enjoy this content so much.
This was SOO helpful and not gonna lie I feel like you are someone who really truly understands style in a different sense.. like listening to the sweetheart archetype made me almost tear up because of how accurate or "seen" I felt about myself or my style (even if it's not important to other people). Thank you for sharing this passion with us- watching this is like going to fashion therapy lolol
So excited!!! Edit: so I wanted to share my thoughts. Before this video came out I drew your chart and put the characteristics of each essence down. I am definitely a right, quite right in fact but was confused on whether I was up or down. When I looked at the up and down characteristics, I found myself with 3 and 3 from both and so judged I was closer to the middle though far right. I can see myself as The Gentle Grace with a touch of Playful Dame/Princess action depending on the day. This quadrant system was so amazing!! I cannot wait to further grow in my style through your expansion packs. Lots of love and thank you for all you have done for us. ♡♡
Thank you. Your system is very helpful. It is really trendy to be a left down woman nowadays and “tough” and I did that for years but never felt like me. I felt like a loser or something was wrong with me. I like how you define the different women in their own unique ways.
Thank you! I had been trying to decide if I was RD and very up or RU and very down, and your description of the gentle grace really resonated with me! I had tried dressing more "up" in the past to fit in with co-workers at an old job, and while I liked the idea of the clothes I never felt fully comfortable in them, this really gives some insight into why and how to adapt my current wardrobe to feel.more special ❤️
Yes!!! I'm late to the party but I was like "I definitely take external inspiration but I feel fake and disconnected from myself if I care too much about the impression I create or "try too hard", and too lost and not my best if I stop engaging with the impressions of others because I really do care and want my clothes to support me in creating a good impression on others"
It’s incredible how intuitive you are Rita! Your notes on how RD women need pieces to have meaning is so spot on. This is why I have a hard time shopping online, but love love love the thrift store. I need to connect emotionally with items I invest in, and it’s so hard to do that through a screen.
This was sooo helpful. I resonate with the special, personal piece as a very sentimental person. Also, the creative piece with a neutral. My fav outfit of all time was this bright coral/orange with a paisley/flower print skirt with a white neutral with a line of embroidery at the top that was very subtle....hands down my fav outfit of all time. I'm going to explore main character, illuminatrix, and sweetheart 💗 Thank you, Rita!!! 🥰
The Explorer description fits me to a tee but somehow associate myself more with the Left keywords 😅 Can you elaborate more on the “Right-ness” of The Explorer?
Wow, I've just discovered your styling system and I'm really impressed. I love how you inspire and empower us to be just who we are. Thank you so much for your tips. i've just purchased the moonstone guide and I love the simplicity and to the pointness of it. I've just subscribed! Amazing work, keep going!
So fun. I resonate with a little bit of each of the right down archetypes way more than any of the other essence systems out there. Well done and thank you!
Awww I love this video so much. I was never sure if I was right down or left down since discovering this system, but after this video I really do think I’ve found my place in RD. :) I’m not sure what my AT is but I really related to all of them in some way and feel the most at home in RD! 🤗 It really helped to flesh out the RD essence for me! ☺️
I just paused this video to thank you a lot for the content. I mean I started watching your videos about the Kibbe system and oh God how crazy it is. I found out it to be too complicated to understand. I guess I am some kind of Yang type, for sure. But to be honest I am not sure whether DC or D, because I didn't feel represented by the characteristics of each archetype. But today, when I was listening to your definition of the explorer... I could understand why. Because that is me! Always purchasing simple things but with an extra something (avoiding boring stuff). And it was funny, when you were saying, what it is the message you wanted to transmit thru your wardrobe (maybe i didn't get it right, cause English is not my first language), but I recently shifted my job and I bought new clothes to feel closer to a more serious environment. And definitely there was something on that clothes. Maybe it is too up on, too elegant, too far from who I really am. It it is also funny that now I can understand why I feel sooooo overwhelmed with certain trends. It is not for any kind of classic vibe, but it is just because it doesn't match my vibe. After all this, many many thanks Rita! I am really looking forward go watching more videos about your system ❤️
At first I thought I couldn't relate to one but when I re listened to your words not the visuals. I realised that it had not occurred to me that a loud dresser could also have a gentle Grace that title threw me off for a while plus combined with grace. At first a had difficulties seeing me as poised & graceful but it occurred to me that maybe confidence & liking being put together was. Seems that people do seem to think I'm of European descent maybe thats what was meant. Thank you❤
Yay, it’s finally here!!! Never clicked on a video so quickly :) thank you so much, this was so great! Do you have a community (eg Facebook group / subreddit etc) where people who follow your work can discuss their style / learnings? I would absolutely adore that
I’m definitely on the right track being on the right down that’s a lot more me. Even thought I’m a kibbe SG (not set on it might be TR) I’ve always admired soft classic lines. I believe I am a mix of gentle grace and sweetheart. Is it possible to explore both sides?
Rita, I feel confidently settled in RD, specifically the Sweetheart, and I just wanted to thank you for this really cool style and logic system 💕💐 it feels so genuine.
Yes, I'm so happy to see this video. I love the RD and there's so many people in my life in this quadrant - expecially the explorer and sweetheart archetypes. Such a beatiful way of being!
I have been waiting for this video! This is my second time watching it. Thank you so much. I hope you are writing a book about your system, Rita. You would do that wonderfully!
Love! Love! Love! This was so fun ✨ I’ve really enjoyed getting to watch the whole series play out 💕 and I’m definitely going to be rewatching this one multiple times 😝
Love this Rita. I think I've found my archetype with the gentle grace. I thought I was a right up, but it just felt a little off. This is a good fit. Thanks
Same here! I'm going to explore the Gentle Grace. I would also love to see more celebrity examples of this archetype, thank you for your amazing work, Rita!
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita Oh this is something I am really looking forward to! I'd be curious to see where you put some older or less conventional looking (slender) celebrities -- Adele, Mindy Kaling, Gabourey Sidibe, Emma Thompson....
Hello Rita! Another awesome video - I am very much enjoying your essence system! I am wondering if it would be possible for you to make a video exploring the yin/yang balance of the four quadrants, that would be so fun! Thanks for considering!
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita yes.. for me. I am a flamboyant gamine and am curious how that would Inersect with this essence. Yin and yang in my body, pear shape and long waisted.... :)
This is interesting, I just watched the introductory video and now this one. First system where I've been able to easily see where I fit. I'm R+D and probably the sweetheart. Maybe the main character, maybe gentle grace, but probably the sweetheart. Now I'll have to learn more.
hi! I'm conflicted between the illuminatrix, the sweet heart and the cool girl from left down, I'm struggling to figure out still the difference between the left and the right, but i know i'm definitely down. I do intuitively resonate a lot with the right down approach to styling, and have a lot of signature pieces with their own story behind them.
I mean tbh many people with all different essence can have items with personal meaning It's just that I'm specifically recommending personal meaning as a styling strategy for R+D if that makes sense I think the main thing is to just figure out how important the Sensory/Sensual aspect of dressing is to you, if it's central then the cool girl is more helpful... If you tend to focus on idea, concept, situation then explore the r+d
Hi Rita! I really related to Sofia Coppola's place in the grid from the earlier video, but now I feel closer to the Explorer archetype. Is Sofia Coppola an Illuminatrix?
Hi Rita! In your left down archetypes video it was brought up that the spicy girl next door can float a bit into the right quadrant, but that there was going to be a “countervailing” element in the right down archetypes that shared certain similarities to the spicy girl next door but in the right down logic. Does that description fit any of these archetypes, or did you end up deciding against including that archetype?
This is hands down one of the best essence archetype videos I’ve seen (if not THE best). I comfortably exist between the main character and illuminatrix range of the R+D spectrum. 🤍 I feel so seen!
You can see how this type of strong makeup doesn't really work that well on Miranda in the Vogue video - natural, simple makeup seems to be much more harmonious with her essence
I think Miranda can look beautiful in heavier makeup if she is doing a shoot but it doesn't really look like "her" and that's something I see with clients, they get talked into doing heavier makeup for special occasions or photos and it just looks off somehow
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita Love this observation! I'm a RD and can relate to this 100%. I figure most right-down women would look off with a Kardashian/Megan Fox style makeup on.
I am ALL of them!! I was thinking maybe not the Sweetheart until Rita mentioned that clothes need to have special stories attached, and I was like, ok this is also me. I need to get the RD course, I think. It's the only one I haven't done.
