US market CX50 beats both of these models at least in look department…
And the best thing is, price starts around $28K…..
Get the petrol savings on the 60
Just so you are all aware, the 2023 CX-60 has already had a major upgrade to these following areas.
1. Infotainment Firmware upgrade.
2. Shockabsorbers, Springs and Swaybar updated.
3. Steering has been software updated.
4. BRAKES changed.
5. Many other changes for 2023.
I’m getting my cx60 in September 2023, thanks for your comments on the upgrade.
Dimitris from Athens Greece, 47 years old, grew up around Europe but now based in Greece. Love your reviews as they offer a real world perspective and drive us through details that matter but we can also ommit when buying or examining new vehicles. Kudos for the Mazda review as we also share the same love for them (I know they are much loved in Germany!)
Kudos 🙏
Great review. We got an honest opinion, both the good AND the bad. So sick of sycophantic reviewers who can't bring themselves to point out anything negative in a car.
🙏🙏
or better yet, reviewers should just state the facts, not give their personal 100% opinions!
@@micah6811 That's a product sheet then, not a review.

You have done a great job reviewing these cars.
🙏🙏
We’re a couple, early fifties from Germany. Had BMWs before (X5 and X3). Love my CX5. Very mature, comfortable and reliable. Do not miss the technical gimmicks of my previous cars, neither the frequent software updates. Don’t think that the price differential to the CX60 is justified and don’t like its interior. Will drive my CX5 definitely for a very long time with a smile on my lips before deciding what to buy next.
Yes I agree with your comments, as I own a CX5, it’s perfect at the perfect price. Thank you for your compliments.
There's a good chance that the CX60 WILL REPLACE the Cx5. This will likely be announced next year when the CX70 is released in America. It'll likely be priced from approximately 30k with the top spec model at near 50k.
cx5 for sure - do not buy the diesel, get the petrol models (turbo or naturally aspirated)
Your CX5 is diesel or? And with how many PS?
price difference is justified because CX60 is a Rear wheel drive car not Front wheel like CX5, much better dynamics.
Exceptional comparison. Keep up the good work. 💪
Thanks! 👍
I would go for the CX5. I have no family and love more light and bit smaller cars, because streets here are tight.
They 2.5 Skyactiv G is very reliable. I can't affort that much money because I'm younger. But CX60 looks so beautiful 😇😇! Greets from Switzerland

Informative comparison review Happy holidays, Thomas & crew
thanks! =) merry xmas!
Excellent presentation . Thanks for your very specific review.
Glad you liked it!
Really comprehensive and excellent review, great job!
Cx-60 is a big upgrade to the cx-5, they're different leagues. I drove them back to back, here the presenter did not test the sport mode. Milage is shit if you drive it as it's meant, but it's so fun to drive for a suv, so much power, linear acceleration all the way up to 200, and good grip, very planted to the road. It's not a suv built for confort, it's quite sporty. By comparison the cx-5 is mild.
Yeah every other review I’ve seen says the same as you wrote here.
Reviewers in Italy actually praised CX-60 steering, so your remarks came unexpected to me. I drive a 2023 CX-5 and I don’t find it particularly sporty, so it also seems strange to me that the CX-60 is worse in this regard.
This is really a great comparison review. Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
With an avg sticker price of 32k-35k USD in the Ukrainian market, Mazda CX-5 is one of the most popular cars in the segment, due to a nice balance of features for the price. (That is for the 2.0 version, though).
Good unbiased fair review...like it! Good job and keep it up. Provides me a better understanding of my purchase.
Highly appreciated!
Thank you for great comparison video ! I have CX5-14 and I love it , still running very well . Love CX60 but not available in US , thinking about getting the new CX5 next year ,from Boston , 55y female.
Thanks 🙏
A very good comparison review! Thank you!
As a CX-5 owner I was eager to test the CX-60 PHEV. Unfortunately I had to stop my personal test after comparing the trunk with the one of the CX-5.
The available hight was much smaler then the one in the CX-5 and as a owner of a large dog this was a "no-go".
Thanks 🙏
Interesting !
I don't understand why did they went with such short headlights on CX60. CX5 front looks soooo much nicer.
Also, cx60 is very similar to cx5. They should've started with cx80 since Europe doesn't have any Mazda's 7 seaters!
cx 90 is coming up!
Great review - thanks. Glad to see some more AWD SUV PHEV's in the Australian market given the FBT exemption changes late last year....it seems my options (under the Luxury Car Tax Threshold to get the FBT exemption) are this one, the Eclipse Cross, the Outlander and the KIA Sorento - I think Jeep are about to introduce one also...this one seems to have a good amount of space which is also important for me...have i missed any?
thanks!! Maybe you ll find some more here: ruclips.net/video/asuhzdJfAj0/видео.html
Very good comparison.
🤗
I'm very curious to drive the CX-70 and 90 when they come to North America as I believe Mazda tunes their cars differently for every market. So far I've been told our lineup is tuned for a more "sporty" experience in terms of steering and suspension. I wonder if it will feel different here!
Usually cars in the US are tuned for less sporty and more comfortable handling, so the other way around. Lexus does it all the time for example.
48:53 I live in the U.S. (Texas) and drive a 2021 CX9 Signature…love it for it’s driving and more luxury features. I am looking forward to the CX90 next year because of the new inline 6 and even more luxury amenities with updated more modern electronics. I love Mazda for the drive experience. I have actually owned 4 with 3 of them still in the family. I hope the drive experience is carried thru to the CX90 from my CX9 not so much what you experienced in the CX60, that would be very disappointing. Thank you for the informative video
🙏🙏
I suspect they are gonna screw this up somehow. I definitely would not want stop/start and cylinder deactivation.
Thanks for the great comparaison, I've been moving in 3 years from a new bought CX3 to a a new bought CX30 for my wife, and for me into a MX5 now looking to replace both by either one of the CX5 or CX60, the 60' has my favor today, even if more expensive but I love the white coloured TAKUMI interior and the technology is of-course more up to date than the 5' which is obviously near to an end career.. now the question is what model will replace the cx5? if it's a similar car to the CX50 launched in N-America then I might wait a one or two years more !
Cheers! I dont see another investment in the cx5 from Mazda atm. But we ll keep u updated!
Such a detailed video, Thank you
Do you know when CX-60 will be available i UAE?
Cheers! Best to ask your Mazda dealer!
I have a 2019 Signature with the turbo and love it. I would be strongly interested in the CX-70 when it is finally available in the U.S. However, it may have some features that I would not want that could make me keep my CX-5. I especially, would not want a stop/start feature, or cylinder deactivation at highways speeds. These features are not good for longevity and just make the car more complex than it has to be. I would really like the extra room, but I could buy a gently used CX-9 for that.
True too much of that technology makes for nothing but more problems. The reason I bought the CX5 was its basic non turbo engine did not have the engine stop or the deactivation. just more crap to go wrong. My CX5 has all the performance I need is comfortable and RELIABLE and NO CVT trans a REAL 6 speed auto more than adequet and smooth performing !!! Great little car !! ZOOOOM ZOOOOOM !!!!!!
Stop/start feature will definitely keep me away, it's the stupidest tech feature in modern auto technology. It'll be the first time keeping me away from a Mazda.
I had a 2022 CX-9 Turbo as a rental for about 2 and a half weeks. The car is massive but it drives just like a CX-5 AWD Turbo. The only downside to the CX-9 is the lack of trunk space.
@@jcostanza CX-9's trunk space is a bit limited compared to similarly sized SUVs, but it's driving dynamics are unbeatable. I don't mind sacrificing slightly smaller cargo space for that odd day of the year that I would be inconvenienced, but I'm enjoying driving it with a big smile every single day.
I still have a 2009 CX-9 GT that I will never give away; nimble, planted, fun to drive, reliable, easy to maintain, great sound system, and the family with the dog loves it!
@@joseramongutierrez8018 Yes sir. The CX-9 drives better than any large SUV i have ever driven and handles wet roads like a champ. The newer turbo models have tons of torque below 3,000 rpm which is good for driving up hills or canyons. I was able get up to 24 mpg doing mixed driving.
I love my 2021 cx-5 turbo carbon edition,
my 2021 cx-30 turbo premium plus and
my 2021 mazda 3 premium,
i am a Mazda fan boy, this cx-70 is amazing the interior i love it, and you are a honest reviewer👍
Thanks 🙏
As reviewed, both seem very nice. I don't want to feel road bumps, but I'm generally impressed with the improvements in the 60.
So the cx60 makes u feel road bumps ?
I'm a 33 year old guy living in Sweden with my family. I've ordered the cx-60 because we need a big car with great towing capacity and 4-wheel drive. The thing that convinced me on cx-60 was the premium feel it has and the awsome engine (love the sound of it). In contrarion to your opinion about the steering I must say I rather like that it's a little slower and not as nimble. Imo it actually fits the car. :)
Awsome review!
cheers! And thanks for the story :)
I agree with you that slower steering wheel has it's charms, especially when driving a bigger SUV. I dove the Mazda MX5 and although it is a great sports car and very fun to drive the steering is so nervous you constantly need to readjust the steering wheel to drive in a straight line. Can get tiring on a longer open road journey
I will just wait for the inline 6 in the US. Don't really care for hybrids, I am sure it works great, but if I ever want to take it on a road trip then the whole dead battery issue will probably become an issue.
Great video. I like the CX5 but when compared to the CX60 it suddenly looks dated although I wish they kept the real exhausts
Thanks 🙏
video is very dark in the interior. cannot see all the details. but overall, nice and detailed overview. thanks
Just fyi: i have mazda 2022. MY GOD, this channel is just some god blessing. So interesting and relaxing to watch and i don’t know how you are so equipped with knowledge, but how you knew mazdas with Bose have road noise cancelling? I mean, why they not advertise this thing? This was now a veery pleasant surprise for me… mazdas are best
Glad you enjoy it!
Btw to be very exact: the bose sound system has a noise compensation, not active noise canceling. So thats only working when music is running
@@autogefuehl thank you
570 litres v 527 litres. cx5 hived out more space under the flat bed. My 2019 cx5 cargo volume is only 438 litres and despite rattles coming from both the A pillars, m really thankful for this car all else delivers great satisfaction. My cx 5 comes with cargo boot lamp on the rear door. 24:00 look up above you see the cargo lamp in the tailgate door.
Exactly. He also forgot to mention that CX-60 can be used as a regular HYBRID if battery is depleted or manually restricted to a certain percentage. So this additional weight (of the battery) would still be not that relevant as he stressed. While the review is good, there are still areas where the quality can be improved (by way of using at least the wisdom of "read the fcukin manual").
Proud owner of Soul Red CX-5 Elite in Indonesia. CBU import from Japan. So Top notch Japanese quality and performance. The difference is , it have a Sunroof , Dual tone diamond cut 19" wheels. No seat/steering heating though as it is not required here.
Very nice video. ❤
thanks! Keep tuning in !
really great reviewer. awesome video
Thank you so much! Please recommend / share our channel and our videos 🙏
I have a 2016 CX-5. I upgraded tires. It runs like new or better than new. I found little reason to upgrade to the newest CX-5 or CX-60/70/90. It has more cabin noise than new version of CX-5. But it is quieter than a Tesla Model 3 on express way.
Better tires make a vast improvement. I replaced the cheap Toyo tires on 2019 Signature with Michelin Pilot All Season 4 and the difference is dramatic in every way. Not only are they rated to last twice as long, but they are quieter, smoother riding, and handle like a dream. I increased the size to 245/50/-19 which probably helps some. The speedo reads only about 2% different according to a sizing chart that I used.
There is definitely a difference. The 2020 mazda cx5 I had was far, far more noisy than the 2022 I also had 😆 Mazda is not good when it comes to cabin noise imo. Outside of nice interior, and reliability, mazda is lacking in alot.
Very Good review. Thanku.
Highly appreciated!
I love the taillight design of 60. I love the 5 real exhaust tips. I really like the body style of the 60. I have the 2022 cx5. I love the ride and feel. I'm so disappointed that Mazda only put SiriusXM in their upper trim vehicles. So i have to spend almost $40,000 for something so basic as SiriusXM. When all other brands are standard on their's. So i will wait for the redesign of the Rav4 and trade it in. Great video
We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year 🎉.
Happy holidays! 🎄
Merry xmas everyone 🎄 and/or happy holidays! A treat from the team for your free-time :) Enjoy and thank you so much for your support in 2022! We'll also have more cool content coming up the next few days, no holiday for us =)
Thank you for the detailed review of the differences between the two Mazda's. I'm hoping for the CX-70 to appear in the U.S. soon (even though I know we get the CX-90 first.) I sure hope you can drive the gas-only version, and that the steering and suspension feel more like a Mazda!
I've always understood the RES button to mean "Resume" the previous speed you had set (38:11).
One last comment - I've heard people in the U.S. say the CX-5 seats are a bit firm for them. Would you say the seats in the CX-60 are softer (overall more comfortable) than the CX-5? And maybe better for longer road trips? Thanks again for a great review!
Thanks 🙏
I found the cx5 seats better. U have to go for fabric though as it’s softer
I haven't driven the CX-60, just sat in one. It has a definite awe inspiring presence both inside and outside, but my immediate feeling sitting in it was - it's a huge, cumbersome cruise ship. The CX-5 feels more nimble, sleek and possibly, fun.
ye i can understand !
Excellent video!
13 years with Mazda 6, 2.0l petrol - next one will be for sure Mazda, most likely CX-5. Hope it will be soon available with Sky-X 2.5 l engine.
Thanks 🙏
When can we expect a comparison between CX-60 and Highlander? CX5 is not a worthy competitor for the big brother 😊 keep up the great videos!
Enjoy some Highlander content here: ruclips.net/video/3kWcC4EENEQ/видео.html
the seat cooling button should have been at the edge of the row, so in the winter you can just drag your finger across and activate, windscreen, seat and steering wheel heating all at once. now you need to be a bit carefull not to activate seat cooling by mistake.
You can set it all up in the MZD. The seats, steering wheel, window screen (front and rear) and cabin temp can all be set to a specific temp to work together, or just use the Mazda App (CX-60 owner)
Just bought CX5 Kuro, can't wait for CX60 as it's not sure when gonna release in my country as the price might be super high as well compare to CX5.
typically how long (lifespan) does the battery be replaced for this hybrid? and how much does it cost?
and if I pick gas, what is the advantage and disadvantage to diesel?
Test drove the CX60 for 24hrs. The drive train still needs considerable development to get it integrated properly. Many shunts, pulses and vibrations, one was jarring enough that my partner looked at me and asked “what’s gone wrong?”.
Interior is good quality though on the Takumi spec the interior silver bits are shiny chrome, which to my eyes comes across a bit cheap and garish. Much better if they were with a more subtle brushed finish.
I placed an order for a hybrid Takumi spec but cancelled the order after the test drive - i was disappointed.
Is is a bad car ? No.
Is it £52,000 worth ? I dont think so.
That’s what I thought too
The 70 is supposed to be bigger and better than the 60 here in the U.S. But I think they are gonna somehow screw this up. If that's the case, I'll keep my 2019 CX-5 Signature and my money.
60 and 70 wont differ much
I hope Mazda is reading all this and taking the feedback for improvements next year. Like the jab, unfortunately people are using an experimental product. This is Mazda's engineers first plug-in hybrid is it not?
Was that the PHEV?
My wife had a 2017 white CX5 and due to a driver paying more attention to his new iPhone, we now have a 2023 red CX5 premium plus all-wheel drive. We did look at the CX50 but my wife is more of an urban driver than someone who would adventure down a dirt road. The old car protected my family very well from a large vehicle driving fifty miles an hour that T-boned the old CX5 with two additional passengers. I am interested in the possibility of purchasing a CX70 for myself when they come out. Although the old CX5 was comfortable enough when driving across the country it was a bit smaller than I would like and I would appreciate a pangrammatic roof. I would never buy a plug-in model so will only consider the straight six engine with the battery boost. I hope the steering will be better in the straight six-cylinder CX70 when it comes out. I would appreciate a review that put the vehicle on a lift so I can see how the suspension is set up. After seeing the size of the solid rear axle on the CX50 that would be a necessary review by me before purchasing a CX70.

So nice to hear honest reviews regarding mileage-phev-evRange.
Glad you like them!
Great comparison! And since you asked…. I’m a male Gen X-er in Los Angeles who owns a ’22 CX 5 AWD Turbo. I’m probably more of a Euro sedan/coupe guy at heart, but family circumstances have lead me to a compact SUV (common story). The Mazda had the Germanic feel that I desired with the Japanese reliability and low upkeep that I needed. And don’t hate me, but I appreciate genuine leather-along with real exhaust tips.
There’s not much wrong with the CX 5 that wouldn’t be fixed by a normally aspirated 6-cylinder and a slightly more compliant suspension. The upcoming U.S. CX 70 looks like something I could trade-up to later in the decade-a sort of “last hurrah” before having to buy electric. But your assessment of the PHEV CX 60 has me a little concerned. Hopefully someone at Mazda is watching these reviews and has their to-do list made out…to be completed by model year 2029!
Thanks 🙏
U dont have to miss leather when the replacement does the same great job
We ll drive the diesel very soon and can tell more if pure ice version is better than phev
Leather, being a natural material, breathes, is more supple and more comfortable. In addition, it is not petroleum based@@autogefuehl
23:40: They got rid of the trunk lights or is that a localization cost-cutting? My 2021 CX-5 turbo trunk is illuminated. The lamp is on the lid, which can be turned enabled/disabled with a toggle.
Maybe we missed that or it was cut, gotta recheck
This is a really fine video. No one stateside apart possibly Alex on Autos does as thorough a job, but he can't take a vehicle to 150 kmh on roads here! I'm 64, living in Canada, and will have to replace my Tiguan sometime. It will be very interesting to see how the cx70 turns out. And how its priced. One question if you have time. Does the Phev rely on its petrol engine for cabin heat or does it have some sort of electric heat pump when driving in pure ev mode? It gets very cold here sometimes....
thanks!! Oh i ll ask that one
Thanks for the informative coverage of the cx60. We have just ordered one , get it in a few weeks. Coming from a GLC, I wanted electric for commute around town and combustion for longer trips. The new GLC was out of my price range and I couldn't wait for a Lexus NX. It will be my first Mazda, so if there goal was to tempt me from the German alternative they succeeded on me.
thanks for tuning in! interesting!
Hi. How are you finding the C60?
@@TheOnelegman67 Very much as the reviews on line. Looks great inside and out. Ride is great for open road but needs to be softer for driving around town, it can be jarring.
@@Sea0tter Thanks. Can't wait for mine!
Jarring is not a good. Ride quality is my #1 consideration. Thank you for helping me make a decision
Anyone else have issues with the older mazda cx5?
With the pedal brakes?
My 2015 cx5 awd mazda brake pedal has gone “soft and spongy”.
Once it reached like 70,000km.
Soft and spongy as in when you press the brake it sinks and doesnt stop the car sharply. More like the brake pedal isnt sharp and responsive.
Anyone else have this issue?
Thanks for the review. To the crew in general: please don't end the video as soon as he's done speaking. Pausing after the last word to go read the comments is impossible if youtube switches to the next video (in a watch later situation or autoplay)

Well there is an explanation to this: RUclips algorithm. If you dont end the video abruptly, the algorithm punishes you
@@autogefuehl good to know haha, and it's not hard to imagine why
Yeah it really sucks. I prefer to end a video with a calm conclusion. But then some people drop out because they know the video is ending. Damn algorithms
Something I think would be nice is that on these vehicles with an LCD multi-information display would be the ability to change the top speed of the speedometer. Sounds silly maybe, but why on earth is the top speed on these SUV/CUV's so much higher than the vehicle is even capable of, let alone how fast we would drive it? I'm getting a bit older so I'd prefer more distance between each marker.
Fake exhausts are a crash repair saver. A small shunt into a real exhaust is expensive when the system is bent. They don’t bother me at all.
Do either of these cars have remote start on the fob as an option?
I love the CX5 :) I have one^^.
that's awesome what's your variant is it pre-facelift or facelift
36 male from US. Just bought a CX-5, but am interested in the upcoming CX-70 if it has the styling of that CX-60.
Was the steering and the suspension refined since your driving experience? was improved or the difference are not that great?
Can't wait to see this new generation in the US
23:43 the boot light on CX5 is on the tailgate shining down to the boot.
So the grocery situation was probably not true, but added to paint the picture a bit more vivid :)
ohh no one of us saw that!
Actually, the cx-5 didn't have a light on the inside of the tailgate either. The cx-60 had lights in both positions, one inside the trunk and one on the tailgate shining down. Perhaps any sort of light back there is an option on the cx-5 in certain markets, but at that price point, it's silly not to provide it as standard.
@@AdityaJayaram I actually own a mid spec cx5 2019, so yeah, I think I know what it has. Plus this one is higher trim than mine.
@@x3merx3mer thanks for your insight. But what can I say, i checked the tailgate and everywhere in the trunk for a light. It just didn't have one 🤷♂️
Maybe the deleted that for the recent facelift?
I’m 25 years old in the Texas. I have a ‘22 Mazda CX-30 & a ‘23 Mazda CX-5. Love driving both! Sadly, the US doesn’t get the CX-60. I definitely would get a CX-60 if it was available in the states.
I am British and over here we can get the 2.2 d 2wd 148 which is better than the 184. The less powerful diesel engine is perfectly adequate and with careful driving at 55 to 60mph returns 60miles per gallon or thereabouts.
As a 71 YO, my wife and I are retired in the USA (NY Suburbia). Thax for your throrough review & your honesty, pointing out Pros and Cons. The CX-60 (CX-70 in the US) is winking at me. I have a 22 Acura MDX ,leased August 2021 for 36 months. I like some extra room, but really don't need that 3rd Row (I remain curious as to How Many peopl;e actually use that 3rd Row?), so in that regard, the CX-70 seems to be Just Right. I am disappointed to see that you describe the steering as Vague and also too Bumpy a ride?? I would be wrestling with the aspect of a PHEV. I need to know more about that: How do you hook up at home?; how long does the Battery last while driving?; does it utilize Braking Regeneration for recharging while driving? On paper, for our usage, an EV is probably best suited for our needs. However, after seeing the eruption of Fires in EVs after Ian hit Florida, gives me major concerns. Don't get thiose lithium batteries wet, especially with salt water!! EVs were erupring into fires in people's houses after they drove during the Hurricane. The Fire Chief in Tampa said they had at least 25 fires that burnt the houses to ground. It takes Hours of pouring water on the batteries to put the fires out! They mostly just let them burn out!. To me, producing the CX-70 with a Toyota or Honda style Gas/ Electric Hybrid would be a No-Brainer.
drove both, tested both and i think the cx 5 is the better buy.
The interior of the CX60 looks great in white. However I would be conscious of staining the fabric under the infotainment screen,or is it just my OCD ?
70... looking at Mazda CX-5 / CX-60 and Lexus NX 350h... My wife just got a Lexus UX250h very nice... NO spare is a bit scary here in the Land Downunder
Can you clarify what u mean by the Cx-70 being longer than the cx-60? We know from mazda the 70 will be wider but never heard it being longer too.
We do not know for sure yet, what is clear is that it will be "extended" in dimensions, we'll yet have to see what exactly that will be
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry xmas m8 🎄🎄
Rear leg room in cx-5 is nearly the same like cx-60, which is 20 cm longer car. I tested that myself.
How does the cx5 compare to Volvo xc40 in terms of driving and comfort?

The 254 diesel is the best. The fuel economy is unbelievable. Carefully driving ours we can get 58mpg (UK) for a 3.3 litre 6 cylinder that is just amazing. The PHEV makes no sense.
Mate, at 29 min , when told us that you switch on sport mode, actually on car screen was D mode !! You should switch on sport mode and then push the throttle. I have CX5 and it s quite a feeling when drive in S mode. Of course, eat some benzin
i definitely recommend this cx60 because it's more modern beautiful look and rear-wheel-drive inline-six it's very refined but cx5 needs a new generation though
Drove the cx60, the phev's gearbox is very nervous, wouldnt buy it for 10k less. Curious about the 6 cylinder though.
@@kholl7692 The cx-60 also ironically has a more dated look than the cx-5. I don’t know who chose that design but they chose the worst one for their most expensive car yet
@@alb0zfinest Yeah the CX-60 looks more like a Cadillac than a Mazda. It's not an ugly car but it is ugly compared to other Mazda models like the Mazda 3.
CX-5 is better for the price. Many people complain about the CX-60.
Can someone tell me if you have heating if you don't turn on ice and only drive in electric mode? I have a short drive to work through the city and electric would make a lot of sense. But ofcourse I need heat to blow to not freeze during the winter. Also does it heat somehow the engine while driving on ev mode? I hope it preconditions the engine somehow so it doesn't get damaged when you floor it and the ice turns on
heating should work but wont be that effective afaik, not entirely sure if it works at all though. Seat heating will work for sure. But interesting question, i ll try to resolve that when we drive the CX-60 Diesel soon and ask the engineers!
About preconditioning of the engine: No PHEV has that. They build PHEV motors a little tougher so it withstand the cold start better; however it is never good to rev an engine at startup, so this will always remain a problem.
@@autogefuehl it seems really weird to me that more cars don't have an additional heater for heating up the cabin practically instantly. Small renault clio starts heating up the cabin the second you get in because it has some additional heater that turns on right away before the engine itself is heated up. It probably draws a lot of power but anyway people would like to have an option atleast. A lot of cars if you start your car and drive through the city, they won't even heat up because there is little strain on the engine and idling practically doesn't do anything. For about 10 minutes the engine is still cold, and by then I am already at work. (small city, small commute, but I need the car for going on sites and etc)
U can preheat the cabin with a phev yes, i thought u mean preheating the engine
The cx60 heats up in ev mode just fine. I also tested preheating the car from the app, and it did so without starting the ice. I think it prefers to start on ev as long as it has juice. Probably starts the ice if too cold or too little ev juice.
Love our 2021 cx5 Signature👍🇨🇦
even 5.5l per 100km is equivalent to 42.77mpg which is way better than my cx-5. which gets like 25mpg at best if im mostly highway, less for city i expect the opposite here for the cx-60. impressive.
Basically I love how Mazda is now developing the cx line as a more premium line to give Mazda lovers more options.
I would prefer the map on the main instrument panel, and get rid of the perched up ipad in the middle of the dash.
I can't believe they haven't fitted a light in CX5 boot. I own a 2015 CX5 and the light for the boot is in the tailgate and works well in that position.
Either we missed it or they deleted it
It’s a option I think.
Looking a little to much like boring BMW's from the front.Although I'd like the CX 60 maybe one day.Albeit I'd rather have a 3 hatch or 6 estate.
Hello….I bought a new CX5 in December 2017. 2.2 diesel 184 Hp, automatic, leather and electric heated seats, no sunroof and no android auto or car play. After almost 5 years an 85000 km I sold it for a very good price in october 2022. How is the back seat compared to the 2 models? I don’t see a big diference in the back seat in terms of knee space and seat width, if I compare the CX5 with the CX60. Or if it is, it’s to small for me…..
I chose, with an amount less than the value of the CX 60 added to what I received for the CX5, a model with 7 seats, recharge, my 2023, 455 hp…
Yeah indeed not the biggest difference
Ali 26 from Saudi Arabia. Waiting for the CX60 to arrive to the dealership so I can get it. Affordable price for the quality when you compare it to Lexus NX350 or BMW X3. Better design, interior & price (for me). Thanks for the excellent review. Ciao!
thanks and best greetings!
Cx5 has a led light on the rear hatch. So it's on top when you are loading 😏
When will you test the 3.3L I6 petrol CX-60 ?
Next month !
Wish the US was getting the 60, instead of the bloated 70 and 90. I'd also like the next gen CX-30 and 3 to look more like a shrunken down version of the 60, instead of their tired, current low-slung designs. I like more upright oriented hatches and SUVs/CUVs.
I am waiting for the global launch of CX-90 next month.
I've always said real exhaust tips or no buy.. my cx-30 turbo has large tips than the non turbo.. so they must think something of it.. hopefully the 70 and 90 will have at least a dealer option.. I can't stand bumper holes.. and Ford's fake tips that point down are just plain stupid
I have a CX-5 2.5L AWD which I got in September 2022. The steering is much heavier in weight than before and I find it is too heavy. Mazda UK say that they can not do anything to make the steering lighter. Given that it is electric steering I would thought that it could have been re programmed to make it lighter.
I really miss the soft ride of cars like the Renault 16 and 504 Peugeot of the past.
Has the temperature dropped by you a lot because of winter? Colder temperatures cause tire pressures to drop which could make turning the steering wheel a bit harder.
I would check all the tire pressures.
When I ordered the car, the Cx-5 that I test drove was about 3 years old as no new cars were available to drive. On getting my car in September it was immediately obvious that the steering was heavier. I haves since then driven ann older model and spoken to a sales man who confirmed that the steering weight was made heavier by Mazda.
I have checked the tyre ( US spelling, tire ), pressures and they are at the recommend pressure.
Unfortunately, I may have to sell the car as I have an arthritic wrist and the steering weight makes it painful..
@@flatheadV8 Try upping the tyre pressures to 40 psi all round and see if that makes a difference before you sell.
You might be wondering where Thomas is. He's working his side hustle for the fake exhaust police, passing by at 4:00 in the video
The cruise control labeled "Res" is "Resume" not "Reset." At least in the U.S.
Thanks for the comparison the interior looks nice and sophisticated but the rear view and the front looks like a BMW. I like the Cx5 exterior and its more comfortable. Am still driving cx5 2019
I think the Chrome accents look better than that brushed silver. Which scratches and tarnish over time
They have to update the exterior looks of CX5. They should make it bulky. More face lift!
