Cheers I now got a scope level on order but what I did in the mean time was run a self levelling laser via tripod up the back end of the scope and along the centre of the bottom scopes and along the barrel... this then centred the rifle i then took the cheek piece off and exposed a flat part of the rifle for a small level bubble to sit on.. I then turned the rifle around and shone a torch through the scope thereby projecting a 2 ft diameter reticule on my bedroom door , along the hallway... the laser and bubble was so precise that when I projected the reticule on the door it needed no adjustment on the plum line I had previously hung from my door frame.
Ain’t tried the heavys yet but I will be tomorrow at the moment I’m very happy with it... more experiments to do on different weights will let you know the outcome... big thanks to Jeff.
Hello there 👋 I m just curious how they limit the rifles? I believe if you change the hammer to the slug power kit then you will not have ft limits isn’t? Or it’s the regulator also limited and you have to change the regulator?
Excellent, so pleased i found this video, i have just purchased a Maverick .177 and its averaging 12.03 ft/lbs over the chrono with 8.44 JSB and need to turn it down, is the hammer screw locked with loctite or can it be turned freely. many thanks
I have the maverick sniper, I have put the slug kit but 150 bar of the reg I can't open it and the power drops. I have the hammer fully open, it doesn't take any more because it doesn't arm. Is there a way or does it work up to 150?
Anyone know how to level the rifle before levelling the scope, there’s no room between my scope and the rail for any type of level and theres no flat parts on the rifle itself to put one one.
You have any idea if I can degas the bottle of the Maverick while it stays on the gun? I know you can screw the bottle off under pressure, but I don't like stressing the short alloy thread everytime.
my rear regulator is directly under the barrel! so any adjusting i need to take the barrel out. is there a way I can turn this so its facing the same as the one in the video?
Not sure if i am honest, the threads need to be done up tight so that they seal, you could try depressurizing the rifle and see if you can tighten the tube up a little. Thanks for watching.
I've Got the option to get a mates impact mk2 in .22 with a full saber tactical kit or get a brand new maverick in .22 both in sub 12ft/lb. What's the better option ( I already own a dreamline tactical) cheers and thanks for the very informative diy videos
Thanks, if the Impact MK2 is sound get that, the maverick is nice, but I feel its not as well put together as the Impacts, and I can't recommend it over an Impact if I am honest. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for this Jake & Jeff, very interesting. Do you know if the adjustable H/S on the Dreamline variants such as the bullpup, have an adjustment method. I have a bullpup that's creeping up in power and would like to drop it down a tad. I can obviously turn the h/s adjuster down a notch or 2, but want the max (A) to get to around 11.2. The reg seems to be set at approx 75 bar, going only by the FX gauge.
No problem, I think there should be an adjuster in the side of the block you may have to take the stock off to see it though, but I have not had one apart to say for sure, but there must be a way to adjust the hammer spring. Thanks for watching.
@@sub12airgunners Thank you! - There was indeed a small allan grubscrew inside the hammer adjustment unit, viewable as you said, once the stock was taken off. It was actually just about all the way out, with no difference at MAX setting. So I dropped the regulator 1/4 turn, and dry shot it, chronoed, and the gun was then down to 10.5 with heavies. That put the indicated reg pressure at 60-65 ish. Then I upped that little hammer adjuster, clockwise 1/4 turn at a time, and it was soon back up to average 11.5 with heavies over 20 shots. It's now 11.2 with exacts (or QYS Domed 8.46). There is no spike coming off the reg now, just gently drops to around 10 in around 6-7 shots. I really appreciate you guys taking the time to highlight sub 12 stuff, it's really important over here in the UK, and most youtube guides don't give any thought to us and our power limits!
Hi, This one uses the same hammer spring thats in the FAC impact and Crown, it even has a hammer weight. Not sure if this will stay the same with newer models being imported, but for my rifle this is the case.
When you adjust the hammer screw the rifle should be un-cocked with the bolt forward, and not touching the trigger. turn it in to reduce the power and out to increase it. Thanks for watching.
Good video bud but Really SUCKS you guys are limited to 12 fpe. My 22 Maverick is pushing 56 fpe with 25 grain slugs. I'm working on downing the reg pressure to lower the power. But the way you explained it was Super helpful! Thank you!
For sub 12 no, for FAC yes, as long as the front reg is 25-50 bar higher than the set pressure of the second reg you should be fine. Thanks for watching.
Keep your rifle around the 11 mk, don't be tempted to go nearer to the 11.9 ,12 fpe mark, as the chances of your rifle going over the 12 is so high it's just not worth it, for us in the UK,11 to 11.5 fpe is more than adequate for small pets and game, and more than enough for target shooting or plinking.
The maverick was around 10.6 with exacts and 10.8 with heavies when I got it, so I adjusted it up to 11.4 with heavies, which I have found to be the sweet spot for most pellets, Thanks for watching.
Hello Sub 12. Interesting video. You explained the adjustment very well so it will be easy for me to adjust mine. I have fac slot in 177 on my ticket ( never bought the gun ) ! In your opinion is this gun able to be put over 12ft/lbs ? to say 14/15 ft/lb Anything higher I would agree it would be easier to by a factory hi power rifle. Just Interested to know. 👍
Thanks for the reply. I am not looking to do anything illegal as I have 177 slot. Reason behind the question is getting a fac in 177 is very difficult, SGC are not interested, so I was looking at getting a sub 12 and adjust it up, then arrange for it to be added to my ticket. That said I have not decided as yet and it’s a lot of to sort out. Thanks anyway.
Hi Jeff so I turned the wheel after adjusting anti clockwise and sure enough it went up slightly but then decided to get lower.. next thing like you said is to remove the anti tamper and boy it’s stubborn I might just leave it at the average of 10.9... I put through jsb hades 10.34gr and it’s going at 9 ft lbs... thanks anyway.
@@andydowden8117 HI, just a quick thing to check have you changed the weight of your pellets in the chrono? a heavier pellet will be going slower but the weight have a greater effect on the Lb/Ft calculation. Secondly I don't know how efficient the Hades pellets are, do you have any 10.34 JSB heavies you can try? The JSB heavies are very efficient and normally come out at A higher Lb/Ft, when running the 8.44s I got around 10.8 then when switching to heavies I got about 11.1. The hades may be tighter in the bore and need a lot more energy to get them moving down the barrel so they might be less efficient. let us know how you get on.
Hi good information, I've the FX Maverick compact do you also need to adjust the regulator at the front just behind the bottle, does this also increase the power , could you help cheers
Good night my friend. I have an Impact M3 sniper and a Marverick sniper and only a donkey spends so much money on these guns to fire with 12 or 24 joules! 😂😂😂 Best regards
They suggest having them 30ish bar apart. Closer will require more recovery time, further quicker recovery for follow up shots. Closer will result in better sd, further more sd. So from my looking into it for punching paper keep them around 25, hunting you are fine 30+

Great vid! Mine was making 10.3 with 8.44 JSB’s from the factory, a quick tune up and I’m now at happy 11.4 👍
Nice job! this one liked heavies as well. Thanks for watching.
Good news boys my rfd removed the anti tamper and now it’s a consistent 11.6/7 I’m a happy man now .. cheers boys.

Andy what's the process to adjusting the reg on the uk sub 12. There doesn't seem to be any vids on RUclips

Also an easy To follow regulator balance.

they don't have a degas screw as far as i know, so you would have to just loosen a gauge a tad to let the air out
