I believe what Meryl did was extremely brave and equally needed at the moment. I respect her and agree with her completely. She was so brave and yet so unhostile. I don't really know the incident but I applaud Meryl Streep for talking about it on her speech, it's very brave of her to do that even though she's aware of the Trump supporters that watch her films. She stood by her point of view, regardless of losing her fans and that's what I respect about her.

Streep should not have used the golden globes speech as a political platform. She could have called a press conference a long time ago and voiced her feelings. The golden globes was a time when people wanted to enjoy themselves get away from politices and just enjoy life for once, to have something to cheer about and celebrate. The people in the audience looked like they were thinking, "Not this again". I know I feel that way. She mentioned ballgames. Has she seen what's been going on with the kneeling and sitting to protest the National Anthem because people think it's racist.
Mary Sherrill and yet so many people were clapping whole heartedly at what was being said because they agreed with her. The entire night, and every Golden globes have focused on politics when something horrendous is going on. These artists take the time to voice their concerns throw an outlet that allows them too.
As artists. We let our work speak for us. We don't hold press conferences and make spectacles. But when given the opportunity to voice your concerns. To speak your heart, you're allowed to do that and using a platform such as the Golden Globes is proper.

That means he is only seeing the reporter and not the disability. A disability does not protect a person drom criticism per se. It is ones actions that count, not ones disabilities. Anyone who feels it should not be allowed to make fun of anybody who happens to be disabled under all circumstances irrespective of their actions is really discriminating. Going easy on the disabled is discrimination. Just like going easy on blacks or women. Judge people by their actions, not by their skincolor, sex or disability. Trump criticised a disabled person just the same way he would criticise a normal abled person. Actually, that is fair. It is also called common sense.

Trump was emulating the reporter getting in a mess on a reply, not mocking, no different to a hollywood actor doing the same in a film. She took him out of context, has she done any movies about paraplegic people and their plight? If so then she would be qualified to comment on his acting skills.
