Sportage if pushed… just better spec’d and better to drive. Personally I will wait a couple more years for the next models to drop into £25k…. with the availability of cheaper electric cars too… the market is to become more affordable and tech wise plateau a bit again as manufacturing/market catches up from pandemic effect.
Of the two, I’d take the Sportage with roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and Horseradish please 😊 I’d also want comfort from a non sporty vehicle, and VW can poke their haptic steering wheel buttons! But….. I just had look on the MP website and I’m now torn! I think I’d prefer one of the Tucson model you have. Then I was distracted by all the M340i/d that I’d really end up buying 😮
I got rid of my 3 spec sportage. The PPF issues this car has is what will make that MPG as low as in your review. I was getting mid 40s until the PPF issue started. Kia released a software update but in my experience, all that seemed to do was stop the PPF warning light coming on. I was struggling to get 25mpg by the time I got rid of it.
Try getting a clame out the warranty is the difficult part as class action lawsuits around the planet have proved. I personally wouldn't touch a Korean car. I've worked on cars for years and can tell you they are utter junk as they age and the mileage goes up.
Nice car but like most Korean cars - it will fall apart long before the VW is run in

VW Premium lol are you gone mad. Its about as exciting as a table.
The KIA on the other hand is classy and stylish.

Lightning to warn you about a PPF problem sounds quite spectacular. You're lucky not to have been electrocuted.

Good review. Sportage for the win. Especially with the remaining balance of the excellent standard warranty.

The KIA is a thosand times better than that heap of rubbish VW. VW might as well just retire now. No one want the rubbish from them.
Tiguan all day long
Volkswagen looks and drives better definitely Tiguan
Kesinlikle Tiguan NOKTA
sportage gets to many gpf issues
Toyota Rav 4 beats both in my opinion
