Use the central tire inflation to lower the tire pressure, that might give you enough clearance for the barn

Yeah but if theres an emergency, then its not grab and go. Its grab and wait 10 minutes for the tires to air up, then go.

Have your welder build a skid to put the tank/pump on so you can lift them off the truck so you can use the truck for other things.
The pump doesn’t work by itself. It runs from a PTO on the truck. You cannot put it all on a skid. I also think that truck rates a 1000 gallon tank. Close to 9,000 lbs, by itself.
I guess I was wrong, the initial picture showed a different truck. My apologies.
Smart. Put the tank a hose coil and a pump all on the skid and you'll be all set.
If you used the deflating option on the wheels you might be able to get it in the barn, just a thought.
Glad I'm not the only one that wanted to see that happen🤣🤣
Thought the exact same thing
He's so used to the 5 ton not having CTIS that he didn't even think of it
Now thats smart
From a rural firefighter, go out to a local rural company and tour their brush trucks. There are a lot of options, but most of them will have a similar loadout. Red line w/ auto-retract, 400-800gal water tank, small gas pump & tank at least 100gpm (more for that top cannon will be needed), fill & dump valves, & hand water extinguisher to spray water. Chainsaw, fire rake, axe, halligan bar, winch, ropes, shovels, broom. I'd also highly recommend a hardwired radio programmed to the local fire channels so you can call in the fire to alarm.
Cheap tank option: Use a military engine storage crate. You might be able to fit 2 on the bed. I was on a rural volunteer fire Dept WAY BACK! This was the logical solution on a deuce & a half truck. The tanks are round and come in different sizes for all the engines. It worked well & never leaked. I’m sure that a base would have discarded “crates” from maintaining trucks, tanks, aircraft, etc... might even be free!
See Matt, you did a good deed giving the first Gen back to that guy and it came back around to you. This truck is an ABSOLUTE level up. It’s insane. Literally a monster fire truck with lights and sirens and snorkel. Crazy.
Good karma comes back around.
👍👍
Mere has one rule when she gets a new chicken ; dont tell matt.
Hey man, been a subscriber for years. Just wanted to say that buying a fire truck as a rancher is probably one of the best things to you can do. Provided you know what to do with one, it's a great asset. I've been a firefighter for a few years. I'm at an urban station, not a rural one so I don't see any private trucks but neighbouring stations in rural areas always say that half their fire calls in bushland end up getting put out by private owned trucks before they even get on scene.
Definitely a worthy investment.
Matt: We need to order a tank.
Next Episode Matt shows off his new Abram.

Matt’s only neighbor right next to him at night is like wtf is he doing now
comment of the year
They are probably just used to it at this point
Lol 😂
The real reason for buying a ranch: What is neighbour?
His neighbors: oh it’s just a normal day in the life of matt
Now you need a carport that collects rain to keep the tank filled like at the demo headquarters.
You are lowkey a genius for that
Honestly, I was skeptical of the chicken idea, I do think those tanks could use some way of purifying water, but as far as the fire truck tank, that's absolutely a brilliant idea!
I mentioned this when we was asking for suggestions for his shed he wants to make there. I also think he should get a second tank for demo hq so that he can hold more on reserves be less likely to overflow
I mean, since it's for Demo Ranch, it'll probably not be far from the HQ. With how quickly the tank filled up before the freeze, he could probably use that same tank for the water truck. I don't know if there are seasonal dry spells that would make that option less likely as it could deprive the HQ of water though..
Mere: We bought some new chickens

That’s messed up

Mere's just working you up to actually getting a few heads of cattle for the ranch.
Those S&S M1078's were made in Sealy, TX before they were bought out. They have a CAT C7 ACERT engine in them too and are pretty reliable. You should look into the gun turret mount that goes into that space in the ceiling. You can mount a water canon up there and be able to spin it 360 degrees around the truck if you can figure out the water supply to it.
Hearing the LMTV start up brings back alot of great memories. I enjoyed driving, and maintaining the LMTV
With the amount of cars, trucks, guns and “targets” I’m sure you’ve bought without telling mare, I don’t think you can be the slightest amount of surprised they bought more chicken

Exactly. They bought Matt more targets, it was very nice of them.
It is "Mere" not "Mare", short for "Meredith" she ain't no horse cowboy.
You need an Ultra High Pressure Fire suppression system. Basically, they are modified pressure washers that spray a fire with a powerful mist of very fine water droplets. This increases the surface area of the water, and it rapidly cools the fuel at the source of ignition. You get much faster fire suppression, and you can put out much more fire with a given amount of water.

Just remember 1 important thing on your fire trick. Water weighs 8.5 lbs per gallon. Also with water in the tank you will have a a elevated chance of rolling that truck over with that tank up higher due to bed height. Make sure that you order a tank with baffles to mitigate movement of water inside the tank. Order a pump with drafting capability if you have a large lake or pond. Get 2 1 inch booster line with 30 to 60 gallon per minute nozzles and that will give you plenty of water for those lines. 15 year veteran in fire service if you need any help.
This truck actually have Austrian origin! Here in Austria it was developed as Steyr 12M18, later the manufactor won an order for the US Army. They truck was built under license by Stewart & Stevenson with modifications to meet the requirements: CAT engine, automatic transmission, no differential locks to name the most important changes.
Original 12M18 here: de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steyr_12M18
M1078 here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_of_Medium_Tactical_Vehicles
"even if its just a water cannon up there we need that" hahaha we all know what turret/cannon he really wants mounted in the turret
lol
He's gone through so many vehicles in the last 4 years it's unbelievable
Hes trying ta catch up to whisling diesel
Great truck you should protect your truck with wheel sprayers and an overhead sprinkler for overrun situations, have them either on a seperate electric pump or solonoids off main pump, pump start controls in the cab. Pressure hose on a real for spot fires in tree canopy with minimal water use and a storts fitting off main pump for layflat hoses and something often not concerned is the ability to pump from dams faster than you can out put so you can fight indefinitely with a constant water supply. Thats how we do it in the rural fire service in australia would happily give some pointers big fan of the channel we dont get to have anywhere near the fun you guys have in Australia.
Surely Matt puts some pew pew storage on that thing and makes it his ranch truck. So it's always down on the range with him. He could even put a spot to pew off...
