Hope you went back and bought the old girl if nothing but to save her from the crusher. It 's all there man , just needs a bit of work and a bunch of money to bring her back to a life of fun. That big block lurking under that hood may just have some surprises for you. If that 454 truly did come out of an RV , it would be the tall block engine with so so heads. Tall deck blocks would be easier to shove a stroker kit into that block and easily go over 500 CID. A set of nice aftermarket heads , stroker kit , ,nice intake a big carb or just throw in a fuel injection unit to make it very drivable. She'd be fun. I wonder what power it would make on E-85 pump gas with 11:1 compression ratio. I found a 1982 Z-28 Tee top Camaro years ago. It was partially stripped so I had to round up the parts to put it back together. My drive train is a 406 SB Chevy ,built TH350 auto ,Ford 9.0" rear. C.R. is at 10:1 to run on pump gas. H.P? maybe 350 at the wheels. Still fun to drive.
By the looks of it it's probably a blown motor or trans is shot or it would not be in the junk yard you could have put a wrench on the crank to see if the motor turns.

I own an '88 Camaro and have had a bunch of third gen Firebirds. Gotta watch the cowl/window leak. Water settles on floors (mostly driver side) and rots floorpans

Back in the day, younger males would buy the RS version of the car with factory upgrades to the motor. Not quite the SS, IROC Z28 or even Z-24, but insurance would be so much cheaper, crazy, but true.

This car appears to have a metal hood. I owned an '82 Z/28 back in the day and it had a fiberglass hood. I thought only the cheap base model Camaros got the steel hoods?

The center console may have been changed, doors can be changed i own 2 3rd gens 85 and 86 both z's most numbers matching but anything can b swapped and painted from 82 to 92 but only 91/92 came with the scooping in the ground effects but also came with the i think ugly high rise spoiler this one like my 85 has the small fin 86 z28 only year came with the idiotic high mounted brake light on window i 86'th mine and put the small fin on with the nicer center brake light and i have thoes 91/92 ground effects on my 86 z but how he got that big block in there w/headers is amazing and dangerous with the added weight and torque you have to beef up an f body suspension adding stiffer Springs and shocks up-front and adding frame connectors especially for a T-top version probably a good idea to replace all your stock Panhead and traction bars and trailing arms as well remember these cars were not meant to handle even the power of the 350 without the added suspension Upgrade packages preferably the 1le suspension package available at the time
The 454 is s torque beast truck motor.. heavy.. I'd replace that with an aluminum block 350, centrifugal blower,headers,cam,etc..450-575 HP , depending how high the boost is set... 400+ lbs of wieght lost, better handling and wieght balance..

I've ran across a few deals like that also. Paid $300 for my 67 cutlass supreme. Lady was selling the property. Originally belonged to her dad who gave it to her brother. Started trying to restore it and gave up. She told him car needed to be moved. His response was, " get rid of it. I don't care".

Trust me its not. They have wheelbarrows, everything is on the ground, sometimes too close to each other, and with those front end loaders running around, place is super dusty. Plus they don't do pick n pull prices. You talk to 3 different people, you get 3 different prices 😆😟

There's something I don't see any more, a dual cylinder master cylinder! These days, brake technology has gone backwards & government regulation allowing automakers to pinch penny's & put everyone's life at risk with a single style master cylinder! One line goes & your dead! USTA be that if you lost a rear brake line, you'd still have the front & even still, you'd have your E-brake. These days, the standards have gone to sht. Leave it to American automakers like Ford to put profits over lives! ie Ford pinto, or a single style master cylinder that is on my focus! Lost 1 brake line & almost died!

I had an '85 Z28. Biggest piece of junk to ever come off an assembly line. It gave me so many problems I swore I'd never by another GM product again. To this day I won't even consider a GM product. Nothing but junk. I wouldn't put 5 cents into that thing.

That car did have A/C, (C60) on the label. Base RS V6 hardtop with manual windows and locks but had the custom cloth interior(73C), interesting...

RV swapped maro. Power steering bottle gives it away. Probably has a turbo 400. But no power windows or t tops, I would say just let it die.
