Such skill, experience, musicianship and excellent direction required to express the sublime nature of this music and Kings Halifax has it all. I love this album. They’re the only Canadian choir I’ve ever heard on a par with the best UK cathedral & Oxbridge collegiate choirs. So good to hear the purity of tone and the subtlety of phrasing. They really enable the music to breathe. Their directors have great feel for style. Just really enjoyed their Christmas 2019 upload. Hope to see them live one day.

Es erinnert mich an meine Zeit im Windsbacher Knabenchor vor 65 Jahren. Ganz wunderbare Musik, die sehr gut zu meiner gegenwärtigen Stimmung angesichts des Krieges in der Ukraine passt.

It's one of the Tenebrae Responsories for Holy Week. In our choir we used to sing it at other times as well. Gorgeous music, one of my favorite composers.

It makes me sad because it's beautiful.
    But it's beauty in vain
Unfortunately, this applies to all Christian art.
    Because Christianity is a lie
