Jacobus Handl Gallus Petelen (1550-1591) was a Slovenian organist & choral director & liv’d in Nassau, Vienna & near Prague in the Czech Republic and compiled in 1587 a musical collection of 374 motets which he called Opus Musicum & 20 Latin church masses also survive both in print & in hand copied scores…his greatest influence was Adrian Willaert who was kapellmeister of a double antiphonal choir at St Mark’s Cathedral in Venice for 36 years and who had taught over 30 pupils including such notaries as Zarlino & Orlando di Lassus & young Palestrina …

Schitterend. Ontroerend verstild. Voert je naar de stilte van je ziel voor berusting.
viel zu langsam. Dadurch verliert es die Dramatik. Es wird so nur zu einem sentimentalem Gesäusel!
