Sometimes I feel like Chongqing deserves more praise as the Magic city "魔都” than Shanghai. I love both, though. Just saying Chongqing is so beautiful that it seems a little bit unreal. It could be the best shot for some cyberpunk movies.
I think the cities have different charms. Shanghai is clean, slick, and modern. Chongqing has a more rustic feel which does make it more suitable for cyberpunk. Chongqing is like the underbelly of the beast, it's magnificent in that it's a monstrous city. Indeed, there's no other better phrase to describe Chongqing than monstrous.
Chinese people are so lucky... Watching their own country becoming a global superpower from absolute poverty within the span of a single generation... Now that feels great! One day, I will travel this majestic land 🥰
