Thanks for the compliment, Mark. I'm using it this morning and it was 6 degrees and snowing here in KY. Looking out the window and enjoying the warmth!
How about a band around the waist hooked behind you as you sprint forward? Should increase the resistance so the belt spins faster, giving you room to pump your arms, but also giving you the stretch of the band so you don't feel 'locked down' if you were using a strap.
Thanks Blakely. I really wish there was a mid-range option because I use this everyday and I would definitely get my moneys worth out of it. Maybe one day!
I’m shorter and put an elastic band across the handrails and I can walk backwards leaning against the bands and have the treadmill on the highest resistance.
Your video inspired me to buy this treadmill about a year ago and I used it a lot until I had to have a total knee replacement. I tried running the straps like you show and it kept pulling my belt down so I now run my straps around the middle bar so the straps are not pulling down. I worried the handle mechanism wouldn't take the pulling force, but it is holding up nicely. Also, I had a hard time getting the belt to align properly. I could get it aligned when walking normally, but as soon as I try and go backwards it isn't totally aligned and I have to change my walk from one side of the belt to the other to get the belt to stay centered. I don't have to move left to right often, but 5-6 times over 2 mins. Finally, even with putting the lubing oil down periodically the belt seems like it is getting harder and harder to turn, even at the lowest setting and I am to the point where I can't free walk, I have to use the handle bars to help get any sort of speed and I am 260 lbs. Maybe I have the tension to tight from when I tried to align the belt when walking backwards. Have you seen this issue and if so, how did you correct it?
Yea, your belt tension may be too tight. Also, you may have over-lubricated the belt and it is getting "gummy". The belt will shift if you are using the strap & belt method. It'l make a little noise once it starts rubbing against the wheel, but isn't really hurting anything. I haven't found a way to fix this issue and just chalked it up to something you have to deal with at this price point.
Thanks for this video. Didn't even know this existed. I bought their manual treadmill without the resistance, and it felt way to sketchy. I'm looking forward to trying this system out

Great video. I have a similar treadmill and inspired by your video I tried something that I think works if you don't have a belt and rachet straps. You can just stand at the base of the treadmill with both feet off the treadmill, lean forward and hold the handles and then one leg at a time push the belt away from you with the other leg off the treadmill. On the high resistance setting it only takes about six reps before I'm ultra slow due to muscle fatigue.
That's pretty cool - I have been deadmilling and was looking at just using a weighted car tyre with an eye bold through the tread to strap onto. But I like the idea of something I can just keep inside once my current treadmill blows up.
I'll be looking at options to do outside once it warms up, but I love having this option to do year around. I'll probably still use it in the summer for early mornings when it's dark.
@@dualwellness4658 I appreciate the video. I was looking at some of the tyres because I have a unique mix of an incline, grass, cement and neighbours that hate noise - so it needed to be quiet across the concrete and not run away from me on the incline. I was thinking about just getting bigger and bigger tyres and maybe putting the eye bolt on the wall of the tyre so I could still tip it up and roll it around. But something like you have suggested here is so much easier. The same as you I was looking at these but could not get one with manual resistance. Once again I appreciate you doing the work for us.

I added a little bit 4x already, but the running board still feels dry to me. Bottle is at around 50% capacity now. Did you use the whole bottle / most of it, for the initial lube??
I appreciate the compliment. Details on all the equipment are in the video description, but unfortunately, this model has been sold out for a while now.
Been looking for this one but sold out everywhere so i went with xebex sled Trac 5000 but ended up spending $1600 i didnt want to spend that but was only thing found similar.
Couldn't you simply lift the rear of it and still use the front grips? It would essentially remove the gravity assist aspect and allow you to stay with the belt direction that the company designed.
Genius. Subbed I am not very mechanically handy with things - any chance you can post the link to the rape straps and belt too? Just don't want to buy the wrong one.
Thank you for the video. If you were getting ether this or a tank m1 would you have a perspective on which would be preferable/more enjoyable and challenging? Probably could get 10 mo per year outdoors although this solution does come at a lower price point. Getting too crowded in the gym for two pieces of equipment.
I would probably prefer to be outdoors on a sled if you have a good area to do it. It's also nice to have an indoor option in case it's dark or inclimate weather.
Great video! 1. Do you know if walking backwards at the built in 13 degree angle of the treadmill affects the desired result much? 2. Do you think it would be possible to raise up the back of the treadmill onto a box / platform to level it out for backward walking?
I like the angle of the treadmill. I think it adds a good level of strain and mobility for the feet and calf/tib. The back could be raised up to be level, but I think it would take some heavy modification, as there is a strut underneath that tries to raise up the platform if it is not in the down position. Thanks for watching Mitchell!

This is a great video, you answered every question that I had. Thank you and have you sent it to Ben?
Thanks Jack! He has seen it. He has so many irons in the fire, it might be awhile before we see an improvement on this idea.
Great video. Thanks
Thanks for watching Beau!
Genius. Subbed
I am not very mechanically handy with things - any chance you can post the link to the rape straps and belt too?
@@dualwellness4658 Thanks for the info!
How long have you had this now? A year? Been holding up well?
Still using it daily. It develops noises every so often and requires a little maintenance like any other piece of equipment.
Are you maxing out the treadmill while doing reverse sleds? If not, what setting do you like?
I adjust the resistance based on the length of time. 5+ minutes I'll put it on medium, less than that I'll max it out. Hope that helps!
Watch at 1.5 speed to overcome the slow speed of Kentuckian speech patterns.
Solid info and worth the watch.
😂 Thanks Keith. I may have been concentrating on pronunciation too much also.
@@dualwellness4658 wasn't meant to be an insult, just to clarify. People from different places speak different. In person I likely wouldn't have noticed.
@@BeGrizzlyStrong None taken. All good brother.
I just bought this treadmill 1 hour ago, too bad I didn’t see your videos before I ordered so u could have got a affliction link $. You should do a new videos on this treadmill with the name in the description.
Thanks for this ideas! Do you know the specific model of the belt you have? Or how to find one similar?

Not sure if you’re familiar with the ATG backwards treadmill that’s out now. Wondering if you thought this sunny model would be better/worse option than that. I see a used sunny one like this for sale in my area for about 450 which is similar to the ATG. Also, if there’s any other options that’s weren’t available when you made this video. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
I've seen the ATG model. I've not tried it, but I would say its a bit better than the Sunny; not to mention that this model of the Sunny has been discontinued.
Here's another new option that has some additional bells and whistles on it:

@@dualwellness4658 thanks so much for this!
Good job.
Was looking for way more resistance like simulating pushing a pickup truck
3 months since you released this video. Any surprises? I ordered one, Fed-Ex lost it, got a refund from Amazon but the price went up $40. Called Sunny who said they can't help with the price difference and that I should contact Amazon which doesn't make sense......not Amazons fault. Not Sunny's fault either but thought they help a guy out in the name of customer service.
Thank you so much for this advice! Do you think it would be possible to connect the dip belt to a cable machine for additional weight resistance?
No problem Riley. I kind of understand the cable machine idea, but a fixed point is the most simple solution for me.
unfortunately your link for the treadmill is sold out and for some reason I can't find any other magnetic resistance treadmills on Amazon. Why are there no other magnetic resistance ones!? dang
Ive been doing the backwards on a turned off gym treadmill as a warmup, didnt consider turning it on and adding an incline.
Thats a manual treadmill.. no electricity
