    "Who are you?"
    "The ships councilor."

    Wasn't Afsarah Eden supposed to be "black" (described as "ebony skinned").

    • @batlad
      @batlad 9 лет назад

      SJYNYC I'm just reading through the Voyager relaunch right now, and the trouble is, in the earlier books after the return, she's not really described much at all, and we're just left to assume she's "generic human female."
      By "Children of the Storm" and afterwards, they start describing her as darker skinned with black, almond shaped eyes, and that she may have some unknown alien lineage. So, I kind of imagine her resembling the alien doctor from the Kelvin in Abrams' first Trek film.

      Just reading ‘Full Circle’ now, and my mental picture of her ( dark skin with hair shorn almost to the scalp’ is looking like Lily Sloane, Zephram Cochrane’s assistant from ‘First Contact’. ( possibly even played by Alfre Woodard, who played Lily.)

    I've watched the entire Voyager series (yes all 7 seasons) five times now.
    Whether or not Janeway dies, is in violation with the temporal prime directive.
    After you've watched the series a number of times, you'll discover some quite fabulous things.
    (Hint: Some episodes you see, are not what you think you see; I won't ruin the show by telling you the details, but particularly notice the rank of Tom Paris - it's *not* an error).

    Janeway doesn't die within Voyager itself unless you count a weird temporal thing.
    But Janeway is promoted after return and makes a cameo in Star Trek Nemesis.

  • @valdar1978

    Yes, I have seen the last movie. I am talking about what happened in the novel referenced by McDonaldWilliamT. Admiral Janeway gets assimilated by a branch of the Borg that is absorbing whole physical planets and is moving toward Earth. Starfleet has to destroy the Borg ship Janeway is on, and she is presumed dead by everyone in Starfleet after this. They don't know that Q snatched her away to the Q Continuum at the last second. All of this happens after Nemesis, the movie you referenced.

    @derkomissar100 The Voyager relaunch books talk about how Voyager, along with a few other ships, use slipstream drive to return to the Delta Quadrant deliberately, and a lot of the Voyager crew go with them, being the closest thing Starfleet has to experts on the region. I do believe a lot of the future tech (ablative armor generators, transphasic torpedoes) were pulled, though, and Starfleet does use transphasic torpedoes during an invasion by the Borg, so take that for what you will.

  • @Castrofate
    @Castrofate 13 лет назад

    yeah Eden is black and also Voyager doesn't have that future armor anymore.. Part of Project Full Circle was that they stripped the ship of all future technology for studying and the Dept of Temporal Investigations thinking they contaminate the timeline. The only things they got back were slipstream drive and transphasic torpedoes. I think Janeway dying made for great stories.. I'm really loving all the post-Nemesis books.

      Admiral Janeway was left out of 2 newer Voy. novels due to unfortunately being killed off in a 2007 TNG novel (the 24th century Trek shows' novels are now part of the same "litverse"), but after fans protested, she was returned to human life in the VOY novel The Eternal Tide (published 2012).

    problem with the idea is that its going to be like battle star galatica...
    you have a fleet of ships heading back to delta quadrant using slipstream tech....
    but most likely, the ultimate plot is to confirm whether all of the borg have joined the caeliar or/and are the caeliar on the other side of the universe and keeping to the ideals of peace and freedom...

  • @randomface54
    @randomface54 13 лет назад

    Harry never gets promoted because everyone hates him. Don't believe me, look how often he was the surviving redshirt, for whom death would be too honourable.
    Janeway never gets killed because the Reaper is too damn scared. To kill Janeway would prevent her from having another cup of coffee, we all know what happens to people/sentient nebulae/interstellar empires/Borg who come between her and coffee.

    Very nice attempt a lot of work has gone into this with the limited resources available. Not a fan of the actor choices for the new crew members simply for the fact they are renowned actors from other popular scifi series and would be hard to see them in the roles of the characters listed.

    The cast is all wrong. Starfleet would likely have never even re-launched the USS Voyager. It would have been dissected and studied. If they did, I seriously doubt the same crew would have been stationed aboard. Janeway becomes an admiral somehow after they return anyway, as evidenced by "Nemesis".

    @SirGalahadCtny Well, in the end...it comes down to two things. What you personally like, and what popularity/influence a show had on the public and the marketplace. In this regard, ST and SW are on top...with 40 plus years running for Trek, and 30 odd years for Star Wars. A person has a right to like/dislike what they want. (I.E. I don't care for McDonalds because of health/food issues), but I can hardly say they aren't the best at what they do. The market says they're the ones to beat. I.E. #1

    If Janeway had died in the first episode, and they had replaced her with a Saurian cab driver, the show would have done better. I liked all the other characters on the show but Janeway made me feel like I was watching general hospital.... to dramatic and she never sold me on her character. "Captian!... two borg vessels just appeared on our sensors and are attacking!"...oh boo hoo Miz' Katherine prim & propah'. All you people in charge, stop forcing Janeway on us....please.
