Season 2 of Pose flashes forward in time to 1990. On the heels of the ballroom community establishing itself in pop culture and going mainstream, the House of Evangelista is forced to reevaluate their goals. Meanwhile, the AIDS crisis worsens and the reaction from a group of activists reaches a fever pitch. Pose features the largest cast of transgender actors in series regular roles.

The thing I hate is that we lost Candy right when everyone was starting to love her character! As for Ms Elektra there was never a dull moment from her every time she came across my tv screen 📺 this season!

Who started to love her character?
The actress who played Candy (her name escapes me at the moment) gave an interview about her death. She said at first she was devastated because she loved playing this part. But then she realized “ why not me? in real life what is so special about you that the danger isn’t gonna find its way to your doorstep.“ She said she then viewed it as an opportunity to make a statement about violence against trans women of color. And for it to hit the way it needed to, they were going to have to kill off a main character, so that the value of her life would be conveyed through the episode.

We need to know more about Elektra's past. I figured since Elektra's character is in her 40s she should have memories of The Stonewall Riots and what it was like to be Transgender at that time.

@@perfectpens1262 Stonewall happened in 1969. Eleckra's CHARACTER had to be born in the late 1930s/early
'40s so she was old enough to remember.
@@perfectpens1262 Elektra was born in 1938, so given the 1969 riot, she would have been in her early 30's she would be approx. 30 or 31 during that period.

This show took place in the 80s-90s. By the end of the series it was the mid almost late 90s. Elektra would be in her 60s or 70s by now lol.
