I am finding the cut-and-paste feature difficult. It tends to highlight way too much and the screen is jumpy when editing.

Hi, a few things you can try:
1. If you are using a Mac Magic Mouse, this happens more commonly. Try on a different computer or with a different mouse.
2. You can enlarge your view percentage of the page.
3. Go to "Tools" > "Preferences" > toggle "Do not change slide focus on scroll"
