"Disney made The Wild, we made Madagascar." Me: Okay, that's a win for Dreamworks
"Disney made A Bug's Life, we made Antz." Me: Meh, a tie.
"Disney made Finding Nemo, we made A Shark's Tale." Me: Oooo, that's a loss for Dreamworks.
"Disney made The Emperor's New Groove, we made The Road to El Dorado." Me: and another close tie.
All an all, I'd say we break even he-
    Shrek......OUCH! Win for Dreamworks, nevermind.

Ye just realized, Disney is shit (Except the old drawn movies). Dreamworks made some really good movies. They were always fun with good message. And also their movies are a little more "down to earth" compared to disney. All I learned from Disney is all is good, as long as you are a Pretty Princess though.

about the relatable and the unrealistic characters.
i want to say that neither of them is bad and both have their pros and cons.
you see a hero character with courage and good look etc is a representation of what the audience want to be, what they wish to become, thus they look to them as their ideals for goals.
while a relatable character is someone the audience can relate to as they feel their pain or whatever.
the cons of the first is the fact that if you are to choose a character trait that a certain ground of people can't relate to it will let them down, like having most if not all of the characters right handed thus left handed people can't feel like looking at them.
the cons of the second is that the audience will follow that character whatever he do, if they do not develop themselves they won't try to.

mattwo7 Given their lack of faith in doing shows for broadcast television anymore, I think Dreamworks Animation is trying to take it to the next level, plus it's been confirmed that they're going to be working on a new Voltron TV series and a TV series adaptation of Guillermo del Toro's Trollhunters.
It's a real shame that Dreamworks Animation is no longer producing shows for broadcast television networks anymore in constrast to their fellow competitors Warner Bros. Animation/Cartoon Network Studios, Disney Animation Studios, Nickelodeon Animation Studios and Hasbro Studios still doing shows for their TV channels Cartoon Network/Boomerang, Disney Channel/Disney XD, Nickelodeon/Nicktoons and Discovery Family.
Also, they've launched their own channel recently, though it's only available in Asia and they're planning to expand it to other markets in the near future.

But finally, we'll hack your favorite benchmarking app so it beats the crap of the iphone that launched 4 months ago!.... What? The iphone has better monocore score... do to corporate espionage and decant research dreamworks was able to find out about many planned Disney movies while still in the development stage. they then raced to make their own movie and release it before Disney. so some of the movies mentioned in this video came out before the Disney versions for that reason.

武道館 If you prefer Dream Works to Disney? That is fine. However Don't say something you might regret. I mean think about what the video was pointing out. All The movies animated movies dream works made to spit Disney. Also Shrek made with hate. I grew up when I was young with Disney and as I got older I saw the Dream Works films but now that I am older while I can see great merit in what Dream works have done, Disney holds that special place that I will keep forever. No amount of edgier humor " Relevant" topics or realistic points are going to change that. So If you like Dream Works more. No Argument but please don't encourage hate of Disney from Dream Works.

    • @武道館-e6h
      @武道館-e6h 9 лет назад +9

Dan Evans In the end it is a subjective opinion, and honestly just because Shrek was made to provoke Disney, it does not mean it cannot compare to Disney and even surpass it.
Shrek franchise, especially the second one has taken great risk in their comedic direction and has taken stereotypes of the Disney tropes and completely changed it.
That's honestly my problem with Disney. Yes they have great works, yes many of the works are timeless but it doesn't change the fact that even the most recent Disney movies adhere to predictable storylines with semi-interesting characters. Even with movies like Big Hero 6, Frozen and Tangled the characters seemed forgettable and the story was mostly predictable.
Just because I criticize Disney, doesn't mean I hate Disney. In fact some of my favorite movies are from Disney despite the fact that I prefer Dreamworks.
I am not encouraging hate. Dreamworks no longer need to rely on Disney to make their movies. They have created their own identity and no longer needs to ride the back of Disney. So honestly, your entire claim is based on misinformation and in reality kind of pointless.

I only count the stuff that was made AFTER they got it, Star Wars didn't studdenly become a disney movie, it was, and always will stay produced by Fox, but Star Wars Episode VII The Force Awakens is. Now, thinking about it more, 99% was to harsh on Disney, but not really if you count EVERY SINGLE FEATURE LENGHT MOVIE THEY PRODUCED, there is so much shit... There's like 20 movies about that car with eyes, and I'm not talking about Cars, I love Cars, no this is a live action series, I think there was some version with Lindsay Lohan... also disney channel movies... Now, If we were to count only the stuff made by the main company, it'd a little less maybe 96-8%

sure. it does. after Walt died, Disney couldn't pull their shit together but at least they had a virtual monopoly, their movies might have been on the crappy side but they still made a shitload of cash. and then Bluth came along and threatened their position. he failed of course butif it weren't for him, there would be no Renaissance. and then things started going great for some time but shortly after Bluth was out of the picture, Disney lowered their standards again. and then Dreamworks gets on stage, Disney's confused for a couple of years until finally making a big comeback, first with Tangled and then with the likes of Frozen and Zootopia. without competition Disney ain't worth shit
