Hey @Thomas.Thanks for the cool insight. Did you have another mixbus channel with other plugins on - for instance another compressor or anything, before routing everything to the PREMASTER channel?
Hey, my premaster is basically my masterbus, but it being an aux allows me to send it to the print tracks and stuff. All my processing is done on the premaster
Dam ! Alot has been happening over in your world, i need to catch up ! I see you still have your hardware, when do you decide to use a software mixbus over a hardware mixbus ?
In this case it was the same as mastering as the artist didn’t feel the need to go through another mastering stage. Otherwise i’ll print without goldclip and limiters and send it off to mastering
Yes, your mix bus is your pre-master, and you could decide to commit to it as your official master because you're set on the sound. A lot of us mix engineers will commit to the pre-master because we don't want the mastering engineer to screw it up. I've worked on a major album and don't use the mixes I did for it as reels because the mastering destroyed the sound, the A&R and I were pissed 💔. But then most recently a song I just did I sent off to a mastering engineer (I chose), let's just say that mix is indeed in my reel. ❤
Thanks for showing that Gold Clip over there. I bought it but it didnt fit on my workflow. Im relying too much on The God Particle & ProL2 for the loudness, and my low end is distorting too much. ❤
Anyone else feeling like there is something weird happening in this mix? Sounding like there is far too much compression happening, and the release is quite dramatic. Maybe its just me?
This seems to be because of some kind of compression in the recording software or youtube's weird compression algo. The apple music version sounds way better than it sounds in the video. And i guess the pumping that you are hearing is just a software issue in the recording software. Also no additional processing after Thomas's could have fixed the pumping so it must be some kind of other problem.
@@ilikeflxwers RUclips was my first thought, but this seems fairly extreme (in terms of release time) for a limiter, which is what I assumed they used if targets were surpassed. Could be capture software. Interesting.
Love this stuff!
Glad to hear that!🙏
Nice Thomssss!

I think is sounds kind of saucy like R&B needs to sound

Thanks for pointing it out! I’m hearing it too, but only on youtube, the original file on my mac is fine. I’m going to investigate this further!🙏
Do you have "stable volume" turned on in the youtube player settings?
Tu primer plugin está causando problemas, está haciendo que las voces bombeen.
Being the loudest in the room…🧐 Aren’t we beyond that 🤷🏽♂️
Nope, definitely not. Loudness war is still there, it just got more complicated
