The animation of the Genji ball slashing the green ball might give the impression that the Kamakura shogunate (Minamoto clan) completely overtook the emperor's rule. However, as far as I know, that wasn't quite the case.
After the Genpei War, the Minamoto rose to power and established the Kamakura shogunate in eastern Japan. While the emperor granted them the title of "Shogun," this effectively made them the military and administrative leaders of the country. The emperor remained the symbolic head of state, but real power shifted to the shoguns. So, it was more of a system of shared power, with the emperor holding legitimacy and the shogunate holding control. So, how the Genji ball attacked the green ball might be a bit over the top. But I know I'm being too nitpicky right now😅
