SHOCK Replacement on my Triumph Bobber

- My 2022 Triumph Bobber has just been delivered and the first job is to replace the standard rear shock absorber with one more suitable for my weight. The standard shock is non adjustable and the ride uncomfortable.
I ordered a replacement shock before I took delivery of the bike, the plan was always going to be to replace it.
After researching Fox shocks, Nitron, Ohlins, K-tech, YSS and M-Shock, I decided to go with the latter.
I ordered the M-shock from Bike Revival in the UK. The shock is produced by the Shock Factory and during the ordering process I was asked for my weight, riding style etc so that it could be set up correctly before shipping.
Easy enough job to carry out, it has completely changed the ride of the motorbike.
Why oh why do Triumph fit a poor standard shock that cannot be adjusted. Interestingly I have since been told that one of the most popular modifications that the Glasgow Triumph dealership carries out, is replacing the standard shock for the FOX shock. Maybe that answers the question.

I put the fox I put the fox shock on my bobber. Works pretty well. Be good to see how you get on with this one.
So far so good. How are you getting on with the fox? I might play around with the settings on the M-shock and do a clip on that.

How do mate, I have just bought a bobber with this shock and set it up for my weight but am noticing no difference with back pain!? How you getting on?
I have played around with mines a bit. All depends on the condition of the roads. I hit a pothole a few weeks ago and felt like id been hit with a sledgehammer. The shock only has a small amount of travel so it bottoms out quickly. Nature of the bobber.

Hi there. Nice mods. I have Q? What about gearbox issues? Some say that is very often in Bonnevile family included T120 and T100 engine. Any information about it because official Triumph web side and dealers keeps shut. Have You any issiue? Heard about it?
I have seen a few comments online regarding gear issues, not sure how common they are, and certainly didn't put me off buying this bike. I only have 700 miles on my clock now, no issues so far and hopefully none to come.

Yes it defo makes a difference. My fat ass was bottoming the standard shock out when hitting bumps… of which there are a lot of in Scotland, well more holes.
The standard shock would run out of travel. I weigh around 105kg without my gear on. I do find myself tinkering with the settings on the new shock, trying to find that sweet spot.
Why oh why dont Triumph fit an adjustable shock as standard? When I took my bike in for its 1st service the tech told me that one of the most frequent mods they do as a Triumph dealer is fit the Fox shock. That seems to be their go to. I cant compare to the many others available as I have only tried the M-Shock, but I am pleased with it.
@@The_Scottish_Biker triumph conveniently offers a rear shock for the low low price of $885.00 displayed on their accessories web page. Not sure if that's a deal compared to aftermarket shocks??
@@phillipsnell7188 i paid around £300, cant remember the exact figure, its in the video i think. There are a few shocks on the market, most around the same price. $885 sounds expensive.
