      Hi Neha, we were staying in a nice secluded hotel called Hodakaso Yamano Hotel in Takayama: ruclips.net/video/24STRX2CiCQ/видео.html , so they have got their private onsen as well as a couple outside the hotel (they’ll give you a free pass to enter) which is very nice and free for the hotel guests.
      My favourite one is the one overlooking the mountain as per the video. 🙂

    hi, do you think its okay to visit onsen during summer season? probably september?

    • @SandraSayonira
      @SandraSayonira  6 лет назад +3

      Hi Jamie... July and August are the hottest and humid in Japan so September probably won’t be so bad. However in saying that it’s a personal choice, it’s still quite relaxing but you won’t get the effect of cold on the outside and steamy hot on the onsen to balance things out (hmm... not sure if that makes sense). Lemme know how you go... so excited for you 😃👍

    Hi Sandra, just stumbled upon your video this morning. We are heading to Takayama soon in Dec/Jan. How do you get to Takayama from Kyoto? The outdoor onsen looks so inviting!

    • @SandraSayonira
      @SandraSayonira  5 лет назад

      Hi Lucky, we didn’t go from Takayama to Kyoto, we went from Takayama to Kanazawa by renting a car (see my video here ruclips.net/video/cdcDmy2RU_I/видео.html ).
      But if you’re going from Takayama to Kyoto, the best way may be using a JR Line. Unfortunately there’s no direct train. Most people take JR Limited Express "Wide View Hida" from Takayama to Nagoya, where you transfer to Tokaido Shinkansen Line from Nagoya to Kyoto: if you use JR Pass, take its Hikari Superexpress from Nagoya to Kyoto.
      How exciting as December just around the corner! Have a great and safe journey.
      Definitely check out those outdoor onsen in Takayama... they are so magical!
      Thanks so much for dropping by...

    How much for private hot spring? I booked this hotel as well, but my little brother has big area tattoo on body.

    • @SandraSayonira
      @SandraSayonira  7 лет назад +1

      Hi Lok Man Kwan,
      I’ve booked it through Agoda for Aud$115 per night but that was only second floor so I upgraded to $150 per night to 6th floor. Worth every penny 😊. The hotel that you've booked should include the private hot spring.
      The tattoo may be an issue in this hotel as they've clearly stated at the doors and written rule (see my previous video: ruclips.net/video/cdcDmy2RU_I/видео.html ). But when I went blogging on a weekday, there were no one there...
      Hope this helps and thanks for watching... 🙏

    • @lokmankwan7035
      @lokmankwan7035 7 лет назад

      Sandra Sayonira big thanks for your response, I just checked hotel’s website that the private hot spring is ¥1000/ 30min for rental.

    • @SandraSayonira
      @SandraSayonira  7 лет назад +1

      +LOK MAN KWAN you are most welcome!
      That’s not a bad price at all.
      Oh and based on my experience, the hotel is secluded from everything and it’s about 2 hours drive from Takayama. I’ve documented the road trip so I hope it can help planning your trip.
      Have a fantastic one 😊👍
