Greens have only 2 dragons now basically Vhagar and Tessarion, Aemond is too cocky and thinks he is invincible but Vhagar can be killed Meleys and Caraxes together would have done it easily , Aemond is also young and has not a lot of experience with dragonriding

Man I’m devastated with what happened to Rhaenys. I haven’t read the books. So I kind of knew but didn’t know what was going to happen at Rooks…….I loved her character from the beginning! The whole sequence of her preparing for that battle had me tearing up……because I knew kind of that she was gonna die…….and man…….it sucks so bad.
Mate same. She was my favourite Character and her relationship with Meyles was so beautiful. But they both died a warrior queens death. A bad ass woman and her bad ass dragon right to the end.

Given the fact that we know the sewing of the seeds happens this season and that they blew most of the budget for the season on the battle of Rooks Rest. I’m not sure if they will go out of their way to add an extra dragon for a small plot point.

I’m loving this series but some things make no sense (Rhenyra leaving kings landing after seeing her aging father on the verge of death, Rhenys returning to fight a suicide mission instead of getting help to defeat vhagar) - like am I wrong she could’ve returned to kings landing to tell what happened to Aegon and get 3 more dragons to kill Aemomd/ Cole and ended the war
My thoughts, the night viserys left she was supposed to come back since her sons and her brothers were starting to fight. So they left to avoid further conflict when they were just kind of getting back to being friendly. As for Raenys, she went to defend a stronghold. As long as there were greens on the floor pushing, as well as the dragons in the air, she had to stay. Sure she could've abandoned it, but how would that have looked or felt. Also, I'm sure she probably had some guilt, not doing what she could've when aegon was crowned and she busted out. Daemon threw that into her face ep 1. She wanted to make sure she did all she could and try to end it, not just for the blacks, but for her family. She died a dragonriders death, a true warrior, and a beast at that.
The way they departed from the books for this scene, she didn't even need to get any help. They should've filmed this battle as it happened in the book, or shouldn't have given Rhaenys the upper hand after the initial engagement, only for her to not capitalize on it for no particular reason. Vhagar & Aemond were knocked down and wide open on the ground after the initial tussle. Meleys was airborne. All Rhaenys had to do was to finish them off. Instead she breaks off and flies away. Mind that she is an experienced dragon rider, not a kid who is freaking out, it would have made sense if this was someone like Jace. It could also have made sense if Meleys was gravely injured like Sunfyre, forcing Rhaenys to try and retreat. She wasn't, she was still in fighting shape. Or if there was a pressing issue towards the castle that she had to attend to. There were none of those. The "creative liberties" they took made no sense here.

It's mentioned that she has a chance against Vhagar alone, but with Sunfyre there, she was doomed. Sunfyre and Aegon were down, that's a HUGE advantage for the Blacks and she threw it away by going back in the show. :/

@gaybriale9519 directly compared? No but it does say that Meleys is the biggest dragon for the blacks with a rider. Caraxes WAS longer at about 100 feet. Important to note that the book doesn't necessarily mention him having a slimmer body he's just called the Blood Wyrm. It also just mentions him being half the size of Vhagar in length so takes a deduction.
After killing Sunfire and escaping,going back to fight Vhegar was the stupidest thing Rhaenys ever did. Rivers of blood was spilling out of Sunfire,no way its still alive,or maby the fire fom Vhegar somehow cauterise the wounds
I think Rhaenys thought Meyles was done for anyway, so before her life spilled completely out of her, Rhaenys wanted to take her back and see if she couldn’t put Vhegar down. She knew that Meyles was their best chance of doing that, and I don’t think she thought she’d get another chance. I feel like that’s why she went down with her dragon, because she knew her dragon would never fight again, regardless.

The Wall is breached. All Cole has to do is rally his remaining troops and swarm the breach in the wall. So that castle has fallen. Daemon still holds the key Castle that the Greens want.
I think the point on the show is that Criston realizes how messed up and destructive is to bring the dragons along. It’s not a war anymore, just a massacre.

She lost her daughter, her son, her grandson, and recently found her husband's bastard, Alyn. Aemond and Vhagar were responsible for the death of Lucerys. This was her sanctioned chance to take them out. It was heartbreaking to watch her fall but glorious, too. As she died, a warrior, a dragon rider.
It was stupid from the go to send only one dragon. They should've known that this was bait. Plus they have twice the numbers dragonwise than the greens so getting one dragon caught by the greens only two at the same time is ridiculous. No way the blacks are that stupid.
It’s more easier, in the books Sunfyre is described as huge and heavy(which means he was huge for his age) and he was formidable fighter despite his youth. So Sunfyre had some Caraxes’s character. In books the trap was made by Aegon and Aemond, so because Sunfyre was smaller and faster, he got first to Meleys, and dragons started tearing and burning apart each other, and there wasn’t screaming running away Sunfyre as in the show, when Sunfyre wing was almost teared apart, that’s when Aemond fell on top of them and all three dragons fell, Meleys and Rhaenys were dead, Sunfyre and Aegon injured, Vhagar and Aemond okay. But show as always needed to show greens as villains and cowards and they did what they did. Aegon from the books was more capable than that shit from the show.

It would be dope if this show presented this information on screen. I could be missing it as Im only watching each episode once - but its a pity I barely know any of this with youtube's help. Another example is Rhanyra's small council - i have no idea who most of then are unlike early GOT where just from watchin week to week i knew all the characters

If all the good dragons is the greens are here then why dint she head to kingslanding to kill the council after killing the king, they would obviously retreat to kings landing once they realize her plans
The Greens claimed the fort, so it's a Green victory. With further context, the Blacks lost their last remaining hold on the nearby coast, meaning they were cut off from the mainland. They also lost their biggest dragon and most experienced rider. The Greens lost around 900 men out of an army of 12 000, with their puppet king and his dragon being seriously injured. It's not close. Rook's Rest was a wide Green victory.
Sunfire never flies again due to the damaged wing. She lives in that forest and Criston Cole sent a detachment of men to feed her once she ate all the bodies left over from the battle. Not much is clear after that but it is believed that detachment formed a group that kept feeding her until she died and was possibly the last living dragon due to this
What are you smoking ? His wing healed and he flew to Dragonstone , killed a wild dragon named Grey Ghost , reunited with Aegon , won the battle of Dragonstone alone and also killed Baela's dragon Moondancer . Plus he had a last picnic as well

Dreamfyre is basically dead weight at this point with Helaena as her rider. If they follow the book, and thats a big if. But I wouldn't be surprised if they find a way to get her a scene riding Dreamfyre during Rhaenyra's taking of Kings Landing.
Fans forget that the blacks and the entire realm dunno that Aegon isn’t as powerful it seems, so his loss doesn’t hurt the green as anyone would expect. He is the king after all
Vhagar cheated in both Books- Vhagas literally had to fall on Meleys when the later had her jaws locked around Sunfyre. Show- Vhagar got slammed, ran, hid behind the castle and sneak attacked. Meleys could've have beaten Vhagar but Rhaeneys' hesitation to be a kin slayer and urge to die (caz of her childrens death & husband's infidelity) brought her death.Still Rhaeneys fought valiantly 2v1, killed hundreds of soldiers, crippled Aegon and died a dragonrider's death.
I think DreamFyre will need to wait on Helaena’s demise to take another rider before he is ever up for war. Helaena would never ride him into a battle.

Hammer eventually claims one of the Dragons of the blacks, I think Vermithor. Daemon kills Aemond by risking a jump from his dragon to Vhagar and stabs Aemond in the eye after a fierce battle, Vhagar dies in that battle
It's not about numbers . You need War strategist. In fact greens have only one dragon who has experience in wars big but slow unlike Melys and Caraxis .
She's not more experienced than daemon. She might've rode her for longer, but daemon fought 2 wars with his mount. Rhaenys has never rode meleys into battle

Meleys got ambushed by Vhagar pulling an out of nowhere kneck grab. She is silent whenever it fits the plot. I know it costs a lot to make dragons battle but it could have been more, dare I say, realistic?
Rhaenys was an asset. Aegon was a liability. The Black's council is diminished while the Green's could even recall Otto now that Aegon is bedridden.

I think Rhaenys thought Meyles was done for anyway, so before her life spilled completely out of her, Rhaenys wanted to take her back and see if she couldn’t put Vhegar down. She knew that Meyles was their best chance of doing that, and I don’t think she thought she’d get another chance. I feel like that’s why she went down with her dragon, because she knew her dragon would never fight again, regardless.
Sorry to break it to you but Sunfyre kills Rhaenyra in the end… so he can’t be dead… Sunfyre and Aegon eventually heal together

She lost her daughter, her son, her grandson, and recently found her husband's bastard, Alyn. Aemond and Vhagar were responsible for the death of Lucerys. This was her sanctioned chance to take them out. It was heartbreaking to watch her fall but glorious, too. As she died, a warrior, a dragon rider.
It was stupid from the go to send only one dragon. They should've known that this was bait. Plus they have twice the numbers dragonwise than the greens so getting one dragon caught by the greens only two at the same time is ridiculous. No way the blacks are that stupid.
It’s more easier, in the books Sunfyre is described as huge and heavy(which means he was huge for his age) and he was formidable fighter despite his youth. So Sunfyre had some Caraxes’s character. In books the trap was made by Aegon and Aemond, so because Sunfyre was smaller and faster, he got first to Meleys, and dragons started tearing and burning apart each other, and there wasn’t screaming running away Sunfyre as in the show, when Sunfyre wing was almost teared apart, that’s when Aemond fell on top of them and all three dragons fell, Meleys and Rhaenys were dead, Sunfyre and Aegon injured, Vhagar and Aemond okay. But show as always needed to show greens as villains and cowards and they did what they did. Aegon from the books was more capable than that shit from the show.

Sunfire never flies again due to the damaged wing. She lives in that forest and Criston Cole sent a detachment of men to feed her once she ate all the bodies left over from the battle. Not much is clear after that but it is believed that detachment formed a group that kept feeding her until she died and was possibly the last living dragon due to this

Dreamfyre is basically dead weight at this point with Helaena as her rider. If they follow the book, and thats a big if. But I wouldn't be surprised if they find a way to get her a scene riding Dreamfyre during Rhaenyra's taking of Kings Landing.
Fans forget that the blacks and the entire realm dunno that Aegon isn’t as powerful it seems, so his loss doesn’t hurt the green as anyone would expect. He is the king after all

Books- Vhagas literally had to fall on Meleys when the later had her jaws locked around Sunfyre.
Show- Vhagar got slammed, ran, hid behind the castle and sneak attacked.
Meleys could've have beaten Vhagar but Rhaeneys' hesitation to be a kin slayer and urge to die (caz of her childrens death & husband's infidelity) brought her death.Still Rhaeneys fought valiantly 2v1, killed hundreds of soldiers, crippled Aegon and died a dragonrider's death.
