Hey Kaylee Ellen I’m so glad to see you’re back on your channel. Please keep your head up and keep the faith and everything in due time will work out for you.
I am loving this - silvery/blue is one of my faves for leaf shades. Blue oil fern is on my wishlist. I have a blue star fern next to the P. Silver Sword in my bedroom. Silver Dragon a lovely representative for the Alocasia family. & in re Epipremnum Rare Plant Index - yes please. Stay strong, Kaylee. We are behind you. Regrets for things not done are the worst. & sometimes justice does prevail. I know all the horse turmoil has taken a lot out of you. I truly hope you have not given up on the dream of having that special relationship with the right horse. That desire comes from a pure heart. You deserve it darling
ALSO A SCINDAPSUS RARE PLANT INDEX! I know they're a lot of work so chuck it in the ideas bin, but I am also collecting those! A tiny rescue of a boring ol' pictus argyraeus in 2016 was one of my first plants, that has currently shingled up and down my bathroom wall in this rental five or six times, and I have had such a love for them for a long time. Just picked up a variegated exotica, though I can't find much info or even a usual price for them online. I am sure you will fall in love with scindapsus after all the research I know you do for those indexes!
Following your channel for years now & (not that it’s not always great, but) this is the best your hair has ever looked & I’m loving it! I noticed on your mini vid this week…but just had to tell you that I love it!
I looked into the Spathiphyllum ghost when it was first mentioned as I absolutely love peace lily and wanted it the moment I saw it. From what I found the most common name it is sold under is Spathiphyllum "Platinum Mist" and is usually a bit darker that the ones Kaylee is posting. I see lots of pictures of the very pale ones in image search and on import sites, but many of the non imported ones for sale here in the US are a darker. As of Nov. 2022 they are usually running for under 40 dollars US, but the white ones like she has can go for a bit higher at around 50-70$.
Wow that pasta silver is gorgeous! Fridays with you are easily a big self care ritual for me to decompress from the week. Appreciate you! Enjoy your weekend! 💜
I have a Blue Star Fern and I just love it! I'm a sucker for ferns but kill almost every one of them. The Blue Star is so easygoing, grows really quickly, and is so forgiving if you're not perfect with your watering. It also isn't picky with humidity- my house is usually 30-40% humidity and it has no issues. The blue on the leaves is gorgeous irl and gets better as you give it more light. One of my favorites!
I killed mine pretty quickly, do you bottom water yours or give it filtered/rain water? I love them, they're so gorgeous so I might try again in the future
@@annabergman1166 I have a reverse osmosis system, so I just give it RO water :) And no bottom watering, just pour it on top when it's looking dry! Also I bought mine as a somewhat mature plant (~8" pot), in case that makes a difference.
@@gypsylee333 Honestly I never moved it out of its nursery pot because I'm worried about damaging the roots, so it's in soil! And I just give it RO water when it's looking dry, about every 9-10 days or so :)
@@jacquelinet9088 thanks, I've been wanting one but was afraid it'd die because I have horrible luck with every fern, but this one is kinda Hoya like so maybe...
Love silver plants. I love the silver sword can’t eat for it to fenestrate. I have the silver hero, it’s beautiful, dainty and velvety. I love silvery scindapsus in general. Just the way the light hits it is everything
I love the alocasia silver dragon and dragon scale but I couldn’t afford it so I went for the cheaper substitute called quilted dream that has been very tough and grows well, definitely recommend for anyone who likes the look but don’t want to pay high prices. I’m also happy to see different scindapsis since most look very similar The brandtianum is a major diva of a plant, breaks easy, grows slow and will revert to small leaves if not given enough light or heat, very beautiful but so much work for very little reward, and watering is tricky because they don’t need a lot but they hate drying out too.
Amydrium silver is super easy for me. I have it on a cork plank and the growth exploded when I added it. I grow it in a super barky mix in an orchid pot and man has it taken off.
Loved this video! I have a Blue Star Fern that is an easy grower and she has grown quickly. I have pots and pots of Cebu Blue. Again an easy and fast grower. My Silver Dragon has struggled a bit but I think it may be a humidity issue. Love that Spathiphyllum Ghost!! I’m in the US so it may be a hard plant to find. I’ve never seen one before. Thank you for introducing me to this plant and for this fun video! Take care. 👌🪴🥰
Kaylee, please could you also do a video like this on plants with metallic shine? It would be super cool 🙂 I bought a baby Alocasia Silver Dragon 2,5 months ago and transferred her into pon. She has 5 babies now. I´m so happy and the plants seems to be happy too 😀It´s my first alocasia, but seeing how well does this one, I´m definitely going to get more of them 🥰 Price: Silver Dragon and Dragon Scale plantlets (6cm pot) are currently sold in the Czech Rep. for 10 euros. 12 cm pot is for 20.
I love the Silver leafed plants! Thank you for this video! I do have a silver sword that has been neglected for a few months here and is now coming back. I'm so impressed with how tough he is 🙂
There were baby silver swords at my local plant shop and I kick myself everyday for not getting one 😭 lots of new plants to add to the wishlist, thanks Kaylee!
My platinum scindapsus grows like mad, you have to keep it in super bright warm light, and top them when they run. One leaf three months ago is now three pots of 4+. Move them around, they'll improve when you find the right spot.
One of my personal favorites is begonia sarawak - be aware that it's only intensely blue+other under flash/specific other light, so if you're interested, make sure to look at videos/pictures of it in different light. (I remember KE talking about being catfished by begonia pavonina, so just so that doesn't happen 2u! - it's still on my wishlist tho, hahah) There are also other begonias with similar effect.
I have a few from this list. The P. brandtianum is growing really nicely and fairly forgiving. I accidentally broke the growth point off my little seeding and it popped out a new one really fast.
From your list I only own the P. Silver Sword. A must have as an house plant fan and The Witcher nerd. ⚔️They grow so nice and quickly. 😍 Bought it in spring this year and did already 3 cuttings lately. Now I let them grow on a pole and I hope it will get bigger leaves some day, looking forward to it 🌱 Thank you for your Videos 🌻
Microsorium Thalandicum (if that’s how it was spelled) has gotta be the coolest plant I’ve seen, and the closest to a true blue foliage plant I’ve seen! I gotta get one!
If you ever do a silver metallic/silver purple, I was gifted a cutting in Mexico of a beautiful royal purple & silver yard plant (a neighbor told me the common name is Inch plant, I need to look up the scientific binomial again) and it is truly one of the most forgiving, showstopping, easy to care for plants I have ever been given. It's native to mesoamerica, and more light (not longer light, but more intense light) intensifies the contrast between the green and silver on the top of the leaf, and brings out more of the purple on the bottom of the leaf. I feel your pain on plant lights driving up the energy bill, we just sacrificed aesthetics for affordable function. Plants don't care as much as marketing would have us believe, so inexpensive LED shop lights that cost ~ $0.30/ month to run for 8 hours/day + the timer to limit to 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the evening (siesta in the middle prevents algae growth in aquariums and the house plants seem to approve) cut our energy bill down considerably. Everyone just wears more clothes in the winter, and the temp in the house is significantly lower this winter than years past. We can't let it drop below 50° F (10°C) or pipes might freeze.... I'm not looking forward to next summer with current energy prices.... disability already didn't pay enough to cover utilities, and the climate crisis has raised summer temperatures horribly.....😔 Oh, the inch plant I have: Tradescantia zebrina
Cebu blue and blue are in UK garden centres under a tenner for small plants. Silver and dragon scales, amongst other alocasia also available about £10 - £20
Fun fact I bought a tiny baby syngonium at the garden center about 2,5 years ago for maybe 3€ and I am still not 100% sure whether I have a Syngonium moonlight or moonshine. But it is still one of my favorite plants and is by now a bushy minty bush of arrow shaped leaves. Also a BIG YES for the epipremnum plant index, but take your time Kaylee since these seem like a lot of research and work.
I have Spatiphyllum Ghost also. Seller named it Sensation Silver Ruffles. Thought twas another Peacelily variety, prolly coz of the leaf edges. Each new leaf is creamy yellowish turns into silvery green. I have it under 50-70% direct sun exposure. it gave me 2 new pups Yey!! am a big fan of silvery plants. rn im trying to grow my cebu blue to maturity.
My phil.hastata had root rot and is now only a wet stick but when it had a leaf I liked the intense color. I have cebu blue cuttings and will be growing those up a moss pole to get bigger leaves and fenestration. The first blue fern I have had for over 20 years. Doesn't mind underwatering and is living happily in indirect bright light in the bathroom
Hey hey Kaylee, glad you make again so a nice video 😁👍 the amydrium silver and cebu blue sooo pretty. AND YES PLLLLLS DO It EPIPREMNUM PINNATUM RARE INDEX That will by soo nice 😍🤩
I love Amydrium medium but it is the slowest growing plant I own (I have green form). I bought a node ages ago and it took exactly 2 years to sprout a leaf in my prop container. It’s been chilling with one leaf now since July.
my favorite plant guru, when you get settled in your house, try growing your alocasias, colocasias and xanthosmas outside.. some of the ears are really easy to keep inside, but many do much better exposed to the real sunlight and heat!
I would consider Silver Sword rare here in California, I’ve never seen one at any garden center anywhere. But you can easily and affordably purchase through private seller. I love mine ⚔️
I recently got a huge sebu blue pothos at my local garden center for $5. It was originally priced at $250., but the moss pole that it was growing on was broken and some of the vines were damaged. When I brought it home, I repotted it and gave it a nice, tall trellis to climb on. I cut off the damaged vines and put them to root in water. While I'd never pay $250. for any plant, for $5. it was a good buy...but I keep looking at it and touching it 'cuz it looks like it's dusted with pale blue powder. I'm wanting to get a rag and clean it. 😂😂 Funny thing about the branches that I cut off...the leaves at the top were much larger...and lobed. I'll be interested to see what the main plant will look like when it regrows.
I believe your Spathiphyllum Ghost is actually Spathiphyllum Sensation Full Mint or atleast that is the name I was able to purchase one under, and it looks just like yours. If they are anything like a regular Spathiphyllum Sensation then they can get 1.5 - 1.8 meters (5 - 6 feet) tall and wide as Sensation is the appearently the largest of the commercially produced Spathiphyllum.
Also in Europe. I was looking for a Cebu Blue for years. I wanted one ever since I found out it exists. And then I found one! I found a small but bushy plant for sale, for an insane price (about 3-4 times more expensive than any other pothos). Regardless, picked it up. Spider mites. Thrips. Mealy bugs. Fungus gnats. Mushrooms growing 2cm tall. Another type of insect I haven't even seen before. And it was all over. I wanted to cry. No way I'm introducing all of that into my home. But I still wanted a cebu blue... Like, bad. So I did the unthinkable. I found a little pup on a vine that looked relatively clean. Snapped it. Put it in a zipped pocket. Paid for everything else I bought and rushed home to put it in water. I also gave it a good wash with 1/3 alcohol 2/3 water and quarantined. I now have a 4-leaf little cebu blue in a teeny tiny pot. It's growing a new leaf. Propagation is gonna be the name of the game this spring. Really love seeing one of my plants on one of those lists.
@@Fire-Queen I haven't come across a cebu blue in literally years. I was afraid I won't have another chance to aquire one for a good long while. Still terrible, I know, but it's not like it hurt the main pot (which likely died anyway).
Ep. Pinnatum RPI is yes please!! I've been slowly collecting them. PS, Bonus, if you know?: WHAT is the difference between "aura" and "yellow flame"?? None of the specialty shops in Seattle that I have asked at have been able to tell me! A little strange considering they're also not priced the same... 🤔 Of course I still bought one of each 😂
That’s so weird, I went to a garden centre yesterday and found a tray with big pots with cebu blues. I live in the Netherlands, what a difference between countries
Bought the brandtianum. Hated it immediately. Don't really know why. Gave it to a friend that loves it. I've done that before. Getting plants because I think they're cool, end up hating them. Getting better at it. Thinning out the collection at the moment to just plants I really love. Had over 70. Now I'm around 50 and I still have some that I want to get rid of. Luckily a couple of friends are getting started with plants, so they want them all🤣
I was hoping to see Anthurium Luxurians Silver, but I'm sure you'll just haul it at some point and we will see it then. But, but! I know I've said it a hundred times but I'll say it again because ferns are my favorite plants and I will not stop until the plant community gives up the grudge against them :) Put a fern, any box store fern, Boston, Maidenhair, Blue Star, Rabbit Foot, Hearth Leaf, Fluffy Ruffle, Button, Lemon Button, Kangaroo Paw etc. etc. (I'm not talking about delicate aquarium ferns) in a regular soil with some perlite, not too chunky, in a self watering pot in a good light, especially some direct sunlight. They love the light and water and if given enough water they can grow outside in full sunlight. They don't need humidity, just humid soil. Make sure to never let the reservoir run out, I recommend those pots where you actually see the water, you know those cheap 2 part pots with translucent reservoir, they don't look the best but when the fern fills out, the pot is almost not visible anymore. Do that and your fern will go from 4 inch size to 10 inch size in 6 months.
@@angle7341 I mean the anthurium that has silver leaves and looks like luxurians with shallower bumps. I've seen it listed under different names, and no it's not just juvenile luxurians. I think it's still undescribed so sellers call it whatever they feel like.
@@alexclark64 you really don't find them similar? The growth pattern, petiole, leaf shape, leaf thickness even the corrugation... To me it really looks like luxurians with smoother surface and silver film. It also reminds me of splendidum in terms of leaf shape/thicknes/ribbed petiole but leaf surface is completely different of course. Anyway, I'm sure we will hear more about it next year, it's such a beautiful plant, it will definitely get more trendy. I've seen some other silver anthurium coming from Peru, I have a feeling it might be the new hype :)
@@horace6851 oh completely similar but there is a difference in colour. For some the differences aren't enough to get excited about for others it's enough to want multiple plants. Just a case of what floats your boat. I have like 8 different gloriosum forms so I'm absolutely the 'collect them all if you like them' category 🤣. You are completely right.. the SP angel is already well up there on my wish list and I can't wait to get my hands on one 😬
Firstly, let me throw my vote in for the Epipremnum rare plant index....and maybe a little clarification on Pothos vs Epipremnum....are they really the same or not? My research shows it depends on what site you read or who you ask. 🙄. Secondly, I have both a Syngonium moonshine and moonlight. I can tell you they are different. The color is nearly identical but the leaf size, overall height, and leaf shape is different to a degree. The Moonshine is more compact with smaller leaves that have a bit of a ruffle whereas the Moonlight is taller and looks more like the typical Syngonium with larger more narrow and pointy leaves. I've also notice the Moonshine can get some darker green blotches on it (hopefully it isn't due to my care LOL). I'd post a pic but apparently you can't do that in the comments?
Finally another plant listings😊 i have brandtianum but im struggling😢 cebu blue- cant make them grow large leaves😔 and im dreaming of pastazanum silver😍
I just have a question Kaylee : ls alocasia silver dragon more forgiving and tolerant than let's say Alocasia Amazonica? I find that Alocasia Amazonica deteriorates very quickly if not given ideal conditions . Thanks
I want a blue oil fern but also I do not have the right place for one and would be disappointed if I couldn't get it the shiniest, bluest ever. Ah well, nice to dream.

Funny thing about the branches that I cut off...the leaves at the top were much larger...and lobed. I'll be interested to see what the main plant will look like when it regrows.
The mature leaves fenestrate and look like palm fronds.
My blue star fern also died after I put it in pon 😅 I'm loving my silver dragon tho!! 💚
Love me some silver and blue plants 😍
😨 no philo sp silver angel?! You NEED one of these. I swear I want to sleep cuddling mine, especially when there is a new leaf on the way 🤣
I believe your Spathiphyllum Ghost is actually Spathiphyllum Sensation Full Mint or atleast that is the name I was able to purchase one under, and it looks just like yours.
If they are anything like a regular Spathiphyllum Sensation then they can get 1.5 - 1.8 meters (5 - 6 feet) tall and wide as Sensation is the appearently the largest of the commercially produced Spathiphyllum.
I bought a Baltic blue pothos to be different instead of cebu blue, it's already got some little fenestrations and it's just a baby.
In Canada I payed around 120$ for my blue oil fern. I love mine ♥️
So you stole a prop... There are so many ways of getting and trading props... Why steal one?
@@Fire-Queen I haven't come across a cebu blue in literally years. I was afraid I won't have another chance to aquire one for a good long while. Still terrible, I know, but it's not like it hurt the main pot (which likely died anyway).
Love my common as dirt Alocasia silver dragon.
P. Brantianum could get as big as mature Melanochrysum and they are gorgeous
I have Epipremnum Pinnatum Cebu blue pothos variegated
Epipremnum rare plant index please!
I've heard if you put a Cebu Blue on a pole the leaves can get quite large. Love blue & silvery plants, Thank you for this video!
They grow insanely large on a pole..check out Sydney plant guy..his is HUGE!
Yesss endemic here in the philippines will fenestrate and has a metallic blue leaves, i have💚 and cebu blue aurea, albo and mint💚
@@margiains I will, thank you!
Epipremnum rare plant index Please
🤔 Of course I still bought one of each 😂
Cebu Blue is not a variety of pothos. It belongs to the family Epipremnum Pinnatum
For avatar ferns, I believe the lack of light is what makes them blue-er. I didn't have a chance to experiment with mine, it died pretty fast
That’s so weird, I went to a garden centre yesterday and found a tray with big pots with cebu blues. I live in the Netherlands, what a difference between countries
My small cebu blue that’s hanging has split leaves very unusual
Can I just say...your so beautiful and the plants 🪴.
“silver luxurians” is a marketing scam, luxurians all have silver hues at young ages. Anthurium Sp. Silver Peru on the other hand…
@@angle7341 I mean the anthurium that has silver leaves and looks like luxurians with shallower bumps. I've seen it listed under different names, and no it's not just juvenile luxurians. I think it's still undescribed so sellers call it whatever they feel like.
@@angle7341 there is absolutely different colours and shapes in lux. Mine is not young and completely different to my other luxurians and lux x's
Beautiful 👌🍃🤍
The only cebu blue I've seen with large leaves are on totems or poles, so I'd suggest that if you haven't tried it.
Let your Brandi dry out completely before watering & give it lots of light 🙂 🌿❤️
Hope that helps 🙂
@@LulaMae21 thank you👍🏻 they are all attached in cardboard poles with sphagnum moss😊
@@rooted.seaside thank you ☺️ im a heavy waterer😅 i will try that one ☝🏻
I just have a question Kaylee : ls alocasia silver dragon more forgiving and tolerant than let's say Alocasia Amazonica? I find that Alocasia Amazonica deteriorates very quickly if not given ideal conditions . Thanks
I had brantanum and I loved it but it didn't like me I've ended up giving it to a friend x
I want a blue oil fern but also I do not have the right place for one and would be disappointed if I couldn't get it the shiniest, bluest ever. Ah well, nice to dream.
EPIPREMNUM RARE PLANT INDEX PLEASEEEEEE!!!
