I find the sound of French sung is much preferable, but I rather prefer both the more complex background equation and the more obscure poetry of the English lyrics (imagery of imagining snow, quantifying what it would take to fly like birds, and wondering what kind of grown-up one will end up being are all more interesting to me--and I think are a better fit for the movie--than whining about Daddy not being home any more). If I ever get time, I'd try adding at least one or two more verses, avoiding directly using the words "Mommy" or "Daddy," and making the ending a mirror of the beginning--with the background voice having solved the equation but fading out just before they could reveal what it is...
Hello! This is a really nice translation, thank you! I wonder what the line “3 moins 1 sous le M toit” will mean exactly, what is 3-1 under the roof? Is it the sign of square root by any chance? :)
i’m glad you liked it :) i believe it’s referring to how there used to be 3 people under one roof in the family but now her father is out of the picture so minus 1
@@anjellybeang thank you so much!!! Sorry for my late reply I didn’t get a notification on my phone, really appreciate your explanation, it makes so much sense now 😇😇
very nice, love this song and the translation is good, thank you :) I believe the start should have E = MC2 E = MC E = MMC2, instead of one M in the last part tho
Yeah, but both hurts equally to me: the english one because the relationship mom-daughter feels a tad insecure, but the French one ask specifically for her dad.
I like this version so much better than the English one.

The song: If I get straight A's, would you come back, Papa?
Me: *Cries if there wasn't a tomorrow*
OMG, the aesthetics are so beautiful, even the sound is more clearer, thank you.
very nice song in this song I always think of "The little prince" 🥺💗
oh no, just hearing this beat makes me remember the scenes :'(
Both versions are incredible, this one is beautiful and sad while the other is wondrous and mental breakdown inducing
I loved it's my favorite song

sous le M toit in french you can read it as « meme toit » under the same roof. 3 minus 1 under the same roof…
