I FINALLY passed this song today at an arcade. Though I only got a B, I still felt like a badass because a bunch of people were watching. I always do my best with the pressure of an audience lmao.
Dang, this really reminds me of high school. I remember when these machines first came to my city. Lines and crowds everywhere! And of course your coin on the machine to show you were next.
FUN FACT!: The REAL original version of these songs is a mexican song by the name of "El Cascabel" by Lorenzo Barcelata. FUN FACT 2!: The 'Voyager Golden/Interstellar Record' has a version performed by Antonio Maciel y Las Aguilillas with El Mariachi México de Pepe Villa.(This version is available here in RUclips. Listen to it closely!) .....The More You Know! :V
I would practice everyday that way hahaha with the floor tiles. After a while of playing in the actual machine I could tell when I would miss an arrow on the floor tile. Sounds dumb but it really helps haha
You young bucks have no idea how easy you have it now! I didn't have youtube to practice in my high school and college days, had to use an emulator, download step and music files, then let the game play turning failing off so all the arrows could miss without failing, all just to practice in my room without a dance pad.
I have never agreed so hard in my life. The younger me would play this game for hours and not break a sweat. Now if i even stepped on the mat i would die.
@@akashiseijuro2255 Aye, you two are not alone in this. I wowed many a crowd on DDR in my day... I once scored 4 triple A's in a single game, at Putt-Putt Golf and Games. I was the king, baby! Now... I'm a lowly, poor old fat man, who's pushing 40. I'd be lucky if I could pass "Have You Never Been Mellow" on light mode!
@@ArcaneWorkshop haha i feel u on that one! Im 37 and my "ddr career" days were 02-07 at my mall arcade! Played for hrs on weekends and after school when i didnt work. God i miss those days! My hardest song i beat on a descent grade(c) was paranoia survivor on heavy!
@@Pwilly1984 I'm 38 now, my "DDR Career" spanned 1999-2005. I played so often, my first job was at the arcade itself. I miss those days too! Lots of friends, lots of fun. The hardest song I ever passed was Max 300. I never licked Max Unlimited, only because I refused to be a bar hugger! I did a few tournaments, and even placed in a couple of them. I think this game represented a very rare avenue for confidence building, which was really important at that age. Silly as it sounds to derive confidence by just getting good at a video game, it did! This I think is a really invaluable part of the equation, because it was a foundational exercise in watching yourself slowly get better at something. The payoff, were those BIG crowds! I think my biggest crowd I ever pulled was actually at Universal Studio's, in Orlando Florida. In the Marvel Comics area, they had an arcade next to a burger joint. I played DDR, and every time I turned around at the end of each song, the crowd behind me was bigger. At the end of the 4th song (I saved Trip Machine Luv Mix on Maniac mode for the end) I had a special choreographed thing I did at the end of that song, that I had practiced at home, for maximal wow factor! The room was *PACKED* there were at least 4 camcorders on me, I'm always hoping to find one of those posted to RUclips one day! Part of what makes the DDR era so nostalgic to me, is just how the video games world was. Metal Gear Solid 2 and GTA:3 were releasing, we were SO hyped all the time, all these games made every day feel like Christmas, everyone had some JRPG we were addicted to, and when we met up for DDR, it's all we'd talk about! Incidentally, the thing that sort of killed DDR for me, was just that my friends started moving on (Joining the military, or moving away, etc...). Which really tells me, it wasn't about DDR in the first place. It made for a VERY fun reason to hang out with friends, and I'm sad that hardly any DDR machines are still out there for all these new generations of teens to experience. I read that there's only about 50 machines active in the U.S. currently. The fact that this only existed for a few very golden years just makes it that much more special though. Those of us who lived it are a very exclusive club!
@@ArcaneWorkshop my man! I smiled reading that... Awesome! I had a few crowds too.. Crowds are always fun! I passed max 300 once with a D lol nvr played it enough to master.. It was pure speed and stamina. Max unlimited i made it to the final jumps before the last "run" but that's it. I nvr used bar.. It hurt more then helped. Wished my arcade didn't close down as soon as it did. Id get back into it if i could, i can still read it for the most part. But ya ill always remember those great days with my ddr groupie as well!
19 year old me could do this. Me now..... I'd probably die from cardiac arrest. I came here from searching for Japanese folk music. Unexpected detour down memory lane
I was around the same age when I had the stamina and could actually read the arrows well enough to pull this off. These days I break a sweat just eating a cheeseburger.
All the long runs in this song are quite logical as long as you are comfortable with crossovers and have the endurance. Compare that with something like Healing Vision Angelic Mix, that ones a tripper.
yeah angelic mix requires single foot transitions and positioning... I love that the songs are just one big conversation between the developers and the players... and when you've learnt all the songs, you've learnt a language. Watching these videos makes me laugh because I remember the story. R&P was a good climax. Later songs were good too, but R&P was a special time.
scuchabas una buena rola, estabas con los cuates, tu cuerpo se ejercitaba, tenias una coordinación increíble entre mente y cuerpo, nada de andar gastándote los dedos en el touch del cel.
Great job bro, I looove all the twist's and crossovers in this song, and as well as the gallops, this is a GREAT warm up song if you plan on doing a heavy round... GOOD SCORE!
nice job brotha! man this takes me back, i was so proud the first time i finished this song at the arcade. subsequently this was one of the songs i ended up playin to put my name on the machine at the mall. this, rhythm and police and captain jack were proly my favorites, too many to get into detail but damn this was a great game. i miss it sometimes
If anyone wants to hear the original version look up Rhythm And Police FFSS. It's originally from the Odoru Daisousasen, a Japanese cop show. Both are pretty good but I think the original is best.
I started playing again last month after a almost a four year hiatus (playing only twice in the four years). It's hard trying to get back in the groove of playing DDR but I'm up for the challenge. I'm going to ace this song again soon! ;D
No. No, no, no. You can get AA without full combo. I mean, maybe not in this version, but definitely in others. Like in DDR Supernova 2, you can get 0,950,000 score, and then stop, and you'll get a AA.
acually, an easire way to tell with aa from a is in super nova, you would need 95000000+ points (the points are always out of 100000000) to get AA, and in MAX i think you only need 90000000.
Me and an old friend were so hardcore on this game, bought the hardmat and all, highest I got was 98 on hard. The part when it says cut the drugs huh and you were just flying around the mat was such an awesome game
@ExtraPimpSlap12345 I, at the age of 14 i was the local champion, but i suffered an injury playing soccer. It´s been like 4 years now and like 2 months ago i picked a mat and started playing. Now i´ve picked up the pace and im gonna get waht is mine, so it´s up to you... You only need willpower
you are really good at this. i would proably be able to do this. it's like one of my fav songs on ddr max .but still you're really good. i'm dead serious.
"AAA" score is perfect. AA is like this; get 5 perfects for each great, and 10 perfects for each combo-breaking step. A is "don't have long miss chains and get long combos", lol
"Not my best though" HAH. I can barely do perfect on standard while you get everything on heavy. I have to say that I am jealous, and this is my favorite song on DDR Max! :D
Its so crazy I remember when I first started playing this game....This song seemed so hard and just seemed to extreme for me and as I look at it today....I wanna slap myself for even thinking that.....Such a great game and its crazy how its all so easy now......
Its not hard, ive AAA this plus most of the songs from 8th mix and under. its all about the way you turn your body and it a plus it you have big feet! "ddr letting grown men dance together since 1998"
how many people do you think like the max series better than the super nova? cause I just don't like super nova cause to many girly song and singing in the backround songs are kind of stupid.

there are metal pads you can order online and hook up via usb bro, cobalt flux and t1000 and the like
Haha I used to do that before I got it for console.

Yes. Spent way too much money at the arcade.
you could really wow a crowd with this one. i learned the steps and could spin around doing the gallops
now, i would keel over and die

This is a remix of a regional Mexican song, on a Japanese game 😂
@@wickedviscus2139this particular song was for a very popular show at the time called odoru daisousasen. Really good buddy cop show.
Probably my favorite stepchart of all time. I could never muster the energy to AA it, but the crossovers were just too damn fun.
Crossover... A word that will forever unite us no matter where we are.
One of my favorite songs I was randomly thinking about from this game
All the long runs in this song are quite logical as long as you are comfortable with crossovers and have the endurance. Compare that with something like Healing Vision Angelic Mix, that ones a tripper.

I learned crossovers for this
Same.
Same. You pretty much have to or you're going to have a bad time.
Crossovers and gallops
Yep same here and exotic ethnic too!
the way to get an A is to get one good since AA is perfect and greats only
Jesus Christ I'm old and can't do this shit anymore

This is the best chart ever.
0:18 "GO! GO! GO!"
That's because the machines had already beaten us at "Chess! Chess! Chess!" back in 1997. Go took until 2016.
I started playing again last month after a almost a four year hiatus (playing only twice in the four years). It's hard trying to get back in the groove of playing DDR but I'm up for the challenge. I'm going to ace this song again soon! ;D

Skipped so many classes to bus down to the movie theater arcade and do this during high school
this song flows so well, one of the few i can do without double stepping and able to do the crossovers

This was probably the best DDR pattern to play

OH GOD RHYTHM AND POLICE! The first song I ever passed on Heavy.
Everytime i watch your video it makes me want to play this song again someday, it was sooooo fun.
This song was soooo much fun.

this is my favorite thing to play on heavy
Cut the drugs up!!!!
First song I played when started DDR.
DAAAANNNGGGGG!!!!!!!!! That song is killing it my gosh! And that person must be Jesus, because they are doing that PERFECTLY!!!!!!!!
I couldn't do this song when I was young and fit. Just watching this makes me feel exhausted.
I've got to say, you're something else. High Voltage songs are my favorite.
i well i wouldnt kno i joined in the ddr krazy during the 7th mix to the release of max around then so i didnt kno

A is "don't have long miss chains and get long combos", lol
This is MAGICAL.
I want to see a video of your feet moving that fast! AMAZING!
aaaahhhhh!!! I love this song!!!!!
Such an amazing chart
It doesn't matter what DDR related video start with. You'll always end up here.
my fav song from max. well done
this is my song!! i love this one!
All comments they say you all used to play DDR. Am I that late to this thing?
Perfect warmup song next to so deep
So deep.....as a warmup??? 😅
yeah i only get to play ddr once a year and only now can i do fast steps.

nice song
Watching this in 2020!
Really hard on a dance mat, I hardly pass it with a b... xD
I wish this song was on DDR A
0:45 The audience sounds like an impending car accident!
Can DDRMAX with rythym and the police and healing vision angelic mix and stuff be found at the arcade?
i use to play this song all the time non-stop with a controller until i got AAA..
I realize that now. You don't have to repeat it again.
This is amazing o.o
Ahh memories. :D
I agree completely..
i always fail at 0:30. the sad thing is i can do most of the song i just mess up on the galloping thing
OH! I almost forgot.
Some of the "Voyager" videos claim it was 'performed' by Lorenzo, which is false. He died in 1943.
Its not hard, ive AAA this plus most of the songs from 8th mix and under. its all about the way you turn your body and it a plus it you have big feet!
"ddr letting grown men dance together since 1998"
could you please put this song for download-to stepmania
wow
omg nice
I actually had to learn how to do this song on Heavy without the safety bar. Guess who busted their shit open?
i get so tired after playing this song
Whatever floats your boat! :D!
Dam is this a tiger sitting ?
I can really do this on a pad, in DDR. It takes practice! I certainly cant AA it though. ;)
los cruces en esa cancion estaban chidos
lmao when he says pah pah pah perfect fking reminds me of dr. rockso from metalocalpse haha
i swear gallops r so freakin hard for me rite now
lov the song tho
i can see and follows the moves .. but i dont think i could do it all with a perfect score ( no pads, feets only)
this is the only song i got an AAAA on :D
TOASTY!
esto parece una plagio del cascabel

Juan Gabriel Gonzalez Hernandez You have to download the announcers hope this helps just search stepmania announcers
How was this not a 10 footer??
