Gansey Knitters is a piece of prose written by Raynor about the skill of knitting fishermen's jumpers and The Dilly Song is a traditional counting song, this Cornish version (Kan Dilly) was notated down by folk song collector Sabine Baring-Gould and published in his book "Songs and Ballads of the West".
Saltlines presents an evocative portrait of the south-west coast path...its landscapes, its wealth of traditions and its natural and social history, through the medium of prose and traditional music and song. The material was researched and curated from material collected from the south-west of England by Cecil Sharp and Sabine Baring-Gould.
The footage was recorded by FolkScape at Sidmouth Folk Week in August 2023.
