I know they removed that part of the sign off in the early 80s, want to say either 83 or 84. I watched a sign off of WTXF in 1999 during an overnight stay in Philly, and loved seeing that the same video sequence was still used for the Community Calendar from the mid to late 80s.
I never realized this before overall the many years that I've listened to this song but this would be a great song to sing to your children as you were putting them to bed .
