Hello, I have this printer. I am trying to print on transparancies, but won't work. The HP help chat was no help. The printer just sends the transparency through and prints on the next sheet of regular paper. Do you know anything about how to do this on this printer. Thanks so much.

My brand new HP Smart 6001 scanning bar light blinks continuously and never stops. Not even when in sleep mode. Is this normal for this printer? I have no errors codes.
Yes, that is normal. The flashing green light scanner bar inside the glass bed means it is in standby mode. It's all good. Hope this helps. I have the same printer as well and have done some research on it.

Yes, it is advertised as 'network self-healing' which means it can use both 2.4 and 5 gz channels. I have EERO as well

The setup was awkward and time consuming. (I’ve been around computers for YEARS!). Shortcomings: Desperately needed multi-feed printer…my mistake. Want to scan? Click and pull up a page with several printer operation icon choices. Click on Scan. Waiting 24 seconds to click OK to continue. Waiting another 24 seconds to click for some other innocuous reason. Then it scans with another awkward set of decisions to make. In short, scans are incredibly frustrating. I need to scan multiple sheets often. Next: If idle very long, the printer seems to go to sleep. You click print. No action. Try it again. No action. Printer OFF then ON again. Now it prints the last several unsuccessful print requests. Lots of whirring and noise. Waste more sheets. On some occasions it wouldn’t print at all. Hmmm. Aha. The paper feed tray was half an inch short of full in…had to pull the stack of sheets earlier to print with other stock which did not feed well with ordinary paper. And so on. If I was a violent person, I’d toss this printer out the window. Toying with upgrading to an hp 7301 but really don’t want to invest $290 for another disappointing hp product. Looking into Epson even though it may be slower. I’ve heard that it works.
can it print from a flash drive?
Hi, this printer will not print from a flash drive but will print wirelessly.
Put the flash drive in a computer. You should be able to print then.
Put the flash drive in a Windows PC configured to print on that printer. You should be able to print once the flash drive is mounted in windows.
Stay away from hp printers they break just after warranty is finished and you don't get help from them at all. rubbish!
I have used the same HP printer for years without them breaking. so not all are bad.
