This video needs to be at the top of the search list...Not under all those reviews that don't even show the camera in action.......I seriously watched ten videos of them must talking about the features.....Great vid!!
+Medic Jay I'm glad to hear you noticed. I call it "spec sheet reading". Many do not even use the camera, they just read the specs. I prefer more hands on reviews. Thank you for your comment
Thanks for review, been waiting a long time for someone to give a decent feedback, but coming from you is like the top standard testing an opinion. Cheers
The best tests. I don't have much money, and I will buy one of these, it seems the best quality for the money. I even liked the fact that the videos are smaller.
Looking forward to your comparison between this and the nikon d5500. I cant decide, have had issues with nikon auto white balance making things look not natural in the past and hope d5500 not like this.
I totally agree with +Medic Jay, this is the most useful review for this cameras! So, taking in account the refocusing speed between shots at burst mode, which one of this 2 cameras would you recommend? I'm planning on using either the T6i or the T6s for birds photography.
It looks like there are problems with spots on the sensor and Canon may have to recall most of the cameras. Lensrentals also found a bunch of defective units in their stock and Canon is looking into it.
Very nice video! Waiting for a full, in-depth version, especially regarding low-light noise performance and the mysteriously grainy RAW vs. beautiful JPEG ;) Besides, I'm still to decide which one to buy as my first DSLR: T5i or T6i/s. I'd be really glad to get any inputs from you :)
Hi there! Great video! I'm looking at taking the plunge and purchasing my first dSLR and I'm curious about your thoughts on the following kits: T6i and 18-55mm IS STM = $929.99 CDN T6i and 18-135mm IS STM = $1,109.99 CDN T6s and 18-135mm IS STM = $1,199.99 CDN If it helps, I have a long history of Canon point-and-shoot cameras with larger zoom ranges and I'm looking for camera I can grow with for many years. Thanks so much for your time!
Waiting for your epic shoot-out comparison between Canon 760D and Nikon D5500. I have decided to buy Nikon D5500. But I'm a little bit confused now. Please make it quick. And if you are not uploading it this month(June) please help me with a suggestion that which one I should buy for Portrait and Landscape in this price range between Canon 760D and Nikon D5500 and Which one will be good for Low light situation between these two??? Please answer me.
Hey Mike..love your reviews!! I'm waiting for your shootout with T6s and D5500. This will be my first DSLR...and I don't have a lot of money. I was leaning towards the D5500. I like the D5500 because of the dynamic range and picture quality. .but I plan on shooting wildlife...so the Canon's auto focus seems a lot better. Can you help me because it's so hard to choose..and it's giving me a headache!!. I only can buy one or the other.
Well done! I will be using your upcoming epic shoot with the T6i vs D5500 to help make the choice for my first DSLR purchase. Appreciate your effort. Stoked to utilize your other skills you share on your page as well. Much obliged.
Matt Ganz Here is the epic shootout: ruclips.net/video/kMLApH63AgQ/видео.html - also, the battery life is better in the T6i and T6s than what is found in the literature which is 440 shots. I did hundreds more than that on my early morning sports tests.
MichaelTheMentor High Fives! I appreciate you reaching out! Superb, and thorough review, it is great to see you put so much effort, and skill into this. Cheers
Hey Michael, I have been a bit confused about the Ai Servo and AF Tracking focus on the T6s and T6i. Are these two focusing systems actually the same thing or are they different as in focusing in different ways? Thank you. By the way, I really enjoy your great camera teachings.
Bought the t6s two days ago. Very impressed with the ISO. Even 25600 is doable if you really need to get that shot. Handles fine. The extra money over the t5i and t6i is worth it
I must say I don't mind grain all that much. FoR me it's really acceptable. The t6i and t6s are exactly the same camera on the inside so the results will be identical. Difference between them is just the handeling and some software features.
When you were taking the pictures of the birds what mode were you in and which camera were you using? Do you think it is worth buying the T6s instead of the T6i for sports photography?
Nice review! By the way, I'm really interested to see an ISO performance comparison to that of, say the 70D for low-light. Some reviewers here in youtube are saying its still usable up to 12800 which sounds very promising. I'm into astrophotography and looking for a crop sensor to pair with my Tokina 11-16 for Milky Way shots. I was almost decided to go with the 70D but held back due to center focus issues (I have 4 prime lenses) and the 760D seems like a very good alternative given its a bit cheaper than that 70D having almost the same features like AF. Thanks in advance!
When you were in the video mode checking the tracking, were you using the 50mm f/1.4? Would you say the tracking is better than the dual pixel in the 70D?
I have compared a T6s ISO 3200 RAW image with the D5500 and Nikon still has the edge in image quality in APS-C cameras. Better ISO, colour and dynamic range.
Hi MichaelTheMentor is your 70d still have the problem in the center autofocus point? and can you do a more in depth comparison between the two cameras so everyone can choose between the two. Thanks in advance and nice and clear explaination video about the t6i
I decided to pick up the t6s and I'm curious to what you think would be the best affordable tripod to pair with it for now? Any input would be helpful!
hi Michael your videos are just awesome. Loved to see this Rebel before it's release cleared all my thoughts on 70D which has that center focus point issue. I had one question the lens you used for this shoot 24-70 is it the F4 or the F2.8 ???.
MichaelTheMentor Hi, very much eager to see "The Comparison" Michael as your Comparisions accurately is all about real world testing. I know it takes alot of time to do those tests and come out with the perfect decisions. But Really awaiting for your Upload.😅😅😅.
133faceman I agree, so far there is simply not enough information available to make a good decission. We just don't know enough about this new sensor yet.
Is it posible fr u to make an epic shootout in between Canon T6s and Nikon D5500? i want to buy one from dis two Bro. Please suggest me one. I basically want to do Macro and Portait photography.
I'm a beginner and I'm debating between the t3i, t4i, and t5i. I'm really only looking for a camera to shoot videos while sitting, vlogging, and taking still or slow moving objects. Can you recommend which one to buy? I am only interested in one of the cameras I mentioned. Thanks!
Cesar Villareyna I'm also curious about why someone would buy the 70D especially for video purposes, seeing as the big selling feature for the 70D was the autofocus in video mode with the touch screen and tracking. I'm looking forward to seeing the answer to your question.
Cesar Villareyna This seems to be a common question right now. I'm particularly interested in the difference in the buffer size (RAW + jpg), burst speed, and need for micro focus adjustment. Those seem to be the main 70d advantages. Also, great video. Thanks for putting it together.
i am thinking to buy this camera or the other vs T6S /650D , are they good in low light for stills? does it have HDR ? HDR time lapse option on it ? or normal time lapse ? THANKS
If I get the Canon T6i...Is it compatible with the lens Canon 50mm 1.4? Will it make a lot of noise for focusing on video? I have the Canon EOS rebel sl1 with that lens & its very loud & keeps focusing everytime I move.
Hi Michael, what camera did you use to make this video and did you use a separate sound source ? and how is the sound on theT6s's internal sound recorder with a good plug in mic like a Rode VideoMic Pro for example ?
Thank you very much for your efforts i have one Question I am landscape photography I am using crupe camera and i like to buy full fram camera and i well chose canon or nikon and i completed my way in one of them . what should i buy

MetaDarkness It does not surpass it's competitors at the higher ISO's. it can only reach the same performance from above 800. It can outperform the D800/D810 at the higher ISO's. +Josh Walker I have a 750d. This only happens in live view mode + burst shot mode. If you are using the viewfinder and autofocus mode "AI Servo", then the camera is refocusing between shots as it should.
Hi Michael! I need help with my T3i; it's been working well and I love it but one day just out of the blue it started to take two simultaneous shots at the same time. It means each time I take a picture, another one is automatically taken by the camera without me wanting. I haven't been able to fix that problem so far and then when the flash goes off, it goes twice in a row like I was trying to capture two shots. Can you help me bring it back to its initial settings just when I first bought it? Thank you and keep in mind I haven't done anything to change the settings, it just woke up one day and it was like that for no apparent reason!!!!
i love those guys who talk less and experiment more. you are one of them dude.. thumbs up
Thank you! I appreciate it Jutt

that live view video focusing is phenomenal! I'm very very impressed! This camera is essentially a 70D on the surface but with much less FPS
Bought a t6s and waiting for the arrival on Thursday. This was an awesome quick review!
Love your reviews mate, always on point 👍
Thank you Saf- I really appreciate it!
Your reviews are always so clear. Love them!
Thanks for review, been waiting a long time for someone to give a decent feedback, but coming from you is like the top standard testing an opinion. Cheers
The best tests. I don't have much money, and I will buy one of these, it seems the best quality for the money. I even liked the fact that the videos are smaller.
Hi Michael !
Will you shoot any video for the Nikon D7200? Like a review of an epic shoot?
Have T6i - TTR if you need to increase dynamic range. Does NOT recover shadows well- but can pull down highlights like a champ
great vid Michael but just to give you a heads up the canon t3i can also track focus with magic lantern an it works pretty well
Waiting your comparison between T6i and D5500...
Fabio Gomes de Carvalho Monteiro Here it is: ruclips.net/video/kMLApH63AgQ/видео.html
I had already saw yesterday, very good as usual.
Thank you
I hope to see the battles between 7DM2 and D7200 and A7RM2 and 5DSR...

WAUW!! that JPEG buffer
That's legit my cousin that's modeling
Would be nice testing at low light conditions.
Very nice video! Waiting for a full, in-depth version, especially regarding low-light noise performance and the mysteriously grainy RAW vs. beautiful JPEG ;)

Awesome review, aren't you going to make a t6s one? Which one do you think sharper t6s or D5500?

please do video testing

Whats a tip for the lack of having a flip out screen? Can you suggest a great camera with a flip out screen?
Which Canon camera do you recommend for shooting videos?
Well done! I will be using your upcoming epic shoot with the T6i vs D5500 to help make the choice for my first DSLR purchase. Appreciate your effort.

David Deblaere In the review there is a mention of the grain in RAW shots at ISO 400. How do you find the RAW shots from the t6s
I must say I don't mind grain all that much. FoR me it's really acceptable. The t6i and t6s are exactly the same camera on the inside so the results will be identical. Difference between them is just the handeling and some software features.

Fyan Bagol here is the Epic Shootout: ruclips.net/video/kMLApH63AgQ/видео.html
thanks a lot. ;-)
I like the t6s, I am having one
Do you think the t6i would be good for a beginner photographer?
Nice review, but I'm abit concerned about the grain when shooting in RAW. Are you saying the shots taken in RAW are aggressively grainy??
I'm not sure what to think about that yet, need more tests. I know the jpgs are shockingly good at high ISO
Okay thanks for the reply. I'll be waiting for the full review.
Nice review and Megan is beautiful!

New to cameras. Would this be a good choice for a RUclips video camera? Does the touch screen flip forward for vloging?
hi michael, how long will the 760D battery's last when shooting video?
Amazing review, as always :)
Is the video AF noticeably better on the T6i than the T5i? I'm having trouble deciding between the two, as I would mostly use the camera for video.
+Gevan32 T6i has AF system similar as the one the 70D has (Dual Pixel AF), so yes, it's probably going to be better while shooting video.
Beginner here. I just purchased this product. When filming lets say a music video, should I be filming in "AV" Mode, TV? or M mode?
M

Why ask in a t6i video lol
Get the t5i, but I suggest you save a couple hundred more and get the t6i.
Does canon eos 760d gets heated fast while shooting video???
Which camera do u think is better the Canon T6s or the Canon 70d.
Cesar Villareyna It will be hard to say until I do more tests. Ill have something shortly.

what is the small lens called that you used for the modeling shot?
Nice review! thank you
Sir I am confused between T6i and sl2 pls suggestions me for photography
Does760d gets heated while shooting video???
hi im using 5d mark 2, but wanna add 2nd body just for light and daily videos or maybe vlogging.
which is better 80D or 760D ?
is 760D is OK?
If I get the Canon T6i...Is it compatible with the lens Canon 50mm 1.4? Will it make a lot of noise for focusing on video? I have the Canon EOS rebel sl1 with that lens & its very loud & keeps focusing everytime I move.
Hey, what about sony ilca 68? It has good specs than canon 750d..
Hi Michael, what camera did you use to make this video and did you use a separate sound source ? and how is the sound on theT6s's internal sound recorder with a good plug in mic like a Rode VideoMic Pro for example ?
5d3 with e100 lav mic
Thank you very much for your efforts
i have one Question
I am landscape photography
I am using crupe camera and i like to buy full fram camera and i well chose canon or nikon and i completed my way in one of them . what should i buy
Was this a camera that suffers from the known sensor defect that Canon is addressing??
this wasnt shot near fillmore was it
Can you do a comparison video between the t5i and t6i? Also is the t6i closer to the t5i or 70d?
It feels more like a 70D
MichaelTheMentor so about focusing, what do you say? 70d or t6i
Have you fully tested the video quality of the T6i/T6s against the T5i? I really need to know if it is worse or better or just the same.
Thank you
Felystar Tough question. The moire is really not that good in both of them.
Gracias por el vídeo, es buenísimo
does it have a bodybuilt autofocus motor?
I have an impression that Canon has less dynamic range than other competitors. But is this also really true in cases such as 5D III ?!
oh yeah. Mark iii also has banding issues when you raise the shadows in post. The best canon sensor for noise and DR right now is in a Canon 6d. Keep in mind that Canon is at DR disadvantage only at lower iso. Once you go past 800 it evens out and then even surpasses competition.

excellent reviews I just bought and I have no clue I just subscribe your Channel & thumbs up.
Nice review, gorgeous scenery. Where do you live? it's gorgeous. Looks like hawaii.
It is Hawaii. Maui to be exact. Beautiful place. Everyone who lives there is so lucky.
Which one better 700d or 750d for autofocus ? Anyone help me please..
what camera is the best deal for filming a mountainbike video or car video's but still can take good pictures budget is around 300 or 400 euro's
Idzard Kruizinga Depends if you want a DSLR or a go pro. :)
Why does canon name the same camera differently? T6s/760d? I don't understand this and can't find anything referring to an answer. Pls help
I think its t6s in the US and 760d in other countries. I could be wrong but I am pretty sure thats what I read.
why does this camera drop focus in burst mode but not the 760d? does this also happen in normal mon burst shooting if the object is moving?
+Josh Walker I have a 750d. This only happens in live view mode + burst shot mode. If you are using the viewfinder and autofocus mode "AI Servo", then the camera is refocusing between shots as it should.
I can't decide from 80D, T6s, and EOS M5.
dstefanek1988 I'd go for the 80d 100%
What about the t6s ??
Are u still doing a 750d vs 5500d comparison?
133faceman Yes...almost done!
133faceman All done! Here it is: ruclips.net/video/kMLApH63AgQ/видео.html
I love the place!:)
I am getting the canon 760D or the 750d I don't know which one to choose, which one do u consider?
+Claudia OSullivan 760D, I have it and it's great! You get an extra LCD screen on top and a rear dial.

Can the shooting drive change by itself since I didn't do anything to it?
Chadnoodles If you bump it
Is the focusing system better than 70d .... Or 70d still better
Sajid Assad I have the same question!
+Joao Arrascue Think the 70d is still a little better but not much
+Nicola Jayne I believe they have the same AF system as the 70D.
do u have dvd for shooting with a GH4?
Yes! The link is in the Gh4 vs a7s epic shootout. Thank you!
I live in Maui too
Looks like Arizona to me
Interesting.
You look like Michael Owen
