Goes to show choices in characterization through fabric choices don’t always follow seasonal color theory. The costume designers talked a lot about pulling multiple layers of fabric to create textures and movement and depth that reflect different phases in the characters’ journeys. The dark green is layered on top of a copper intentionally chosen to match her hair. The green is a deliberate choice showing her evolution from Featherington to Bridgerton (yellow to green to blue). Also Pen’s favorite color in the books is sage. As both a seasonal color nerd and amateur costumer I appreciate the give and take this season to give Penelope a wardrobe worthy of her leading lady status.

Yeah, it's tough since she naturally is so cool and soft but has a bright red wig on. I would love to see her with some warmer makeup on to help shift her warmer in the show!

As a Penelope girl, who loves fanfiction more than the show, I am HERE for it! Give me a base for my imaginary outfits for her😂.
P.S. I liked the ones in the show, but I still think her character demands something more sophisticated and dramatic (to reflect the Lady Whistledown part of her), not necessary soft, innocent and airy cuts/colors the show had her to wear. But maybe its just how I see her.
P.S. but come on, there are some fanfics that make her looks so deliciously lush, the show pales in comparison. Also, Im still upset about the dress they chose for her 3epic entrance at the ball. Its was not well fit for her figure, and the color + the overwhelming amount of detail on the bodice, plus the stiff fabric made tge whole look seem TOO MUCH, and not in a good way. Its not Penelope who wore the dress, its the dress who took Penelope along.

The Featheringtons are Yellow. Penelopes sisters became orange this season after they got married, which could mean they matured from yellow to orange. Meanwhile Penelope became green (yellow + bridgerton blue) and then she adopted blue.
