Thank you so much for your well presented tutorial, we purchased one the other day, after watching you demonstrate this vax platinum, I can't wait to get it running around the house, from the accessories it looks like a spot washer /floor combined. Thank you very much again... Happy cleaning 😊
Hi. I bought mine today (Easter discount). I have to say that your video is great, you explain everything clearly and simply, though I'm only just watching several hours after using the machine. I, like you, think that is very good. I'm pleased with the results (shocked at the dirt it pulled from the stairs) and agree that it is a very simple machine that anyone can use. I tried both the attachments and found the other one better for areas around the edges of the staircase. I can happily recommend it.

Absolutely correct!! You need to go real slow, to give the brushes time to rotate over the carpet fibres and slow in the backwards pull to get more water out. You need to go 1/4 speed less (at least) than when hoovering. The slower the better really, with all carpet cleaners. Teddy U.K. x

Brilliant review buddy. This video might sway me towards the vax. I was thinking about the Bissell pet pro. I’ve owned two vax carpet cleaners over the years the older models have always leaked the clean water which irritates the life out of me. And the cleaning the brush bar area is a nightmare. I like the idea of been able to remove the brush bar completely.
I can honestly say it's the best purchase I've made in years. Doesn't leak, leaves carpets clean enough to walk on with socks or bare feet. Just make sure you clean thoroughly before putting away.
Thanks for a great review !! It's the bestmachine we've ever owned....I take your point about the cable getting in the way, think I'll use a cable tie to keep it high on the handle (more out of the way)
Just bought one to replace a Vax model I've had for 10 years. The cleaning on the new one is vastly superior, but the drying of the new one is rubbish compared to the old one. Just had to use one of these for a big coffee spill over carpet and a soft fabric dining chair... it works absurdly well, it's like the ads. Seriously I had no faith it could do what it just did, half an hour later and there's no evidence of black coffee stain.
Thank you for an amazing review. Would you say I need a spotwash as well or this vaccum is good enough with its accessories? I need to get stains out of sofas and stains from spillages.
i guess it depends on the amount of dirt in your carpet, if you do it every 6 months then it should be fine without a spot washer. You could try it with the vax first, get a spot washer if its not enough

Thank you and well done for your demonstration of the use of this carpet washer. The downside is that at times it tends to wet the carpet heavily and even when you select dry only mode and run it over the very wet portion several times, it still feels wet and damp... and boy oh boy, it uses a lot of electricity (or else I would have said "just keep running it over in dry mode until its completely dry") One other issue, I didn't notice even the slightest drop in the level of the antibacterial liquid in the solution bottle even though I washed a big lounge, a hallway and a bedroom. Is it normal not to notice a drop in the level OR should I have pressed the solution bottle much harder and firmly to the base. I'm always weary I'll break something if press too hard 😅
It should be using some solution as you wash the carpet. Check the solution bottle is properly connected, mine slots in and i didnt have to press very hard.
No…it’s NOT normal…the detergent level SHOULD, obviously, decrease as you go along with your Vax.. Carefully check the bottle is firmly pushed into its holder. Press the bottom button to check that liquid is coming out.

Why is it not taking the water in to the tank

Check the dirty water tank lid is fitted correctly, I spent 2 days wondering why it wasn't picking up before I realised that there are two plastic lugs that have to hook into the front of the tank.
Make sure the dirty water tank level is not too much where the float stops it from overfilling. So empty regularly
