    16:50 if you go to the left here (around 30 m), there's also a beautiful gallery with many famous paintings, for example Caravaggio's. :)
    Also, in 17:29 you can see potatoes on Friedrich's grave - people bring them to show their gratitude since it was Friedrich who introduced potatoes to Germany.

    The Summer Palace (Schloss) tour you gave to us was exceptional. Potsdam is very beautiful. Your videography was capturing along with your voice. The light in Potsdam is pure . There are many smaller schloss’s in the surrounding area. They were designed and strategically placed to all be seen when one is at one of the Schloss’s. As in a vortex. Magical place. Thank you 🙏

    What a feast for the eyes and ears that was, and flawlessly able to convey the beauty of this very personal palace.
    Interesting to hear that the much admired French philosopher Voltaire was a guest there. In the run up to my baccalauréat , I was made to write many an essay based on his very perceptive quotations. Thank you for this, Curtis.

    Thank you for the wonderful impressions. :)
    One thing about Nefertiti though:
    I'm German, I adore ancient Egyptian art, and I of course know of the Bust of Nefertiti (Nofretete in German by the way), however most of my countrymen won't. Many might recognize her on an image, but they likely wouldn't know her name, nor would they know where she's even located (in Neues Museum). She's probably one of Berlin's most famous museal attractions, but she is not considered a "symbol of Germany". This is the very first time I have heard someone call her this. She'd deserve it though, since she's such an icon. :)

    • @CurtisRyanWoodside
      @CurtisRyanWoodside  2 года назад

      thanks! Actually I have heard many people call her that, she is exploited quite a lot but the museum I feel.

    Right next to Sanssouci was always where Friedrich II wanted to be buried without a large vermony. This wish was ignored and he was buried right next to his estranged father with a state funeral. Only in the early 90ies his coffin was moved to Potsdam (it was moved from berljn to Southern Germany during world War II) . Now he's resting right next to his his beloved dogs (who are resting in the other graves visible in the video).
