*Me after eating a whole meal:* "Alright time for sleep." *Mike Chan after eating a whole meal:* "Let's go eat some more food." 😂😂😂😂 He is so awesome though. 😂😊
When I visited Macau in 2009, the only restaurant near our hotel still open late at night served vegetarian Buddhist food. And as much as I like meat, it was pretty freakin' amazing, probably the best meal we had in Macau. I bet even Mikey would have loved it :-)
Can't believe you came to my home town. If you go there again you should definitely try some Burmese noodles and brisket noodles near Rotunda de Carlos da Maia (三盞燈 in Chinese).
Hi the eggs tars are actually a very traditional and popular Portuguese pastry. If you want to try the original egg tarts, you should came to Portugal( In one part of Lisbon who called Belém that’s were made the original egg tarts). You should definitely come to Portugal and try more portuguese food I think you gonna love it, portuguese food is so delicious 💖💖💖💖💖😋😋😋😋😋🍴🍴🍴🍴🍴🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹🇵🇹
Love to see you come and try Macau's local dishes! We do a lot of food videos in Macau if you are planning on coming back we would love to give a tour of the best secret dishes!
Can I tell you how happy your videos make me?!! No matter what is happening in my life, your videos give me a time to relax , drool and truly enjoy your food adventures! Thank you! 🤗💕
I've been watching your channel for years from Portugal! Great to see you loving some Portuguese cuisine. if you do want some heavy garlic and some great meat, come to Portugal and spend some time in Alentejo :)
Was I in the middle of something? Yes. Yes I was. Did I stop what I was doing in order to watch this video? Yes. Yes I did. Do I pick this video over what I was doing? Yes. Yes I do. ❤️❤️❤️
Oh my Vancouver!! Yes we do have some amazing food! I grew up in Vancouver BC as a child can’t believe that place is abandoned now. Left in 2000, only rich people live in Vancouver now! So I’ve heard!
My Portuguese heart is very happy right now, I'd love to see you try authentic Portuguese food here in Portugal, the pasteis de nata (egg tarts) were not invented in Macau though but by monks a few decades before the colonisation period began.
This video was recommended to me 3 times during my lifetime on RUclips. I rewatch it every time and seeing Mike eating that pork chop bun, makes me feel sad. He went to a tourist area for it. I know a local place where the local cab drivers, construction workers, etc. go to have afternoon tea. Their pork chop bun is the bomb. You can order curry sauce on the side to dip if it's too dry to your liking. Well, if Mike ever plans to revisit Macau after the pandemic, give me a ring. He needs a local to steer him to the local places, hahaha.
Hey Mike. Love your videos! You should come to Portugal! And that place definitely didn't invent the egg tart. It's called a Pastel de Nata and it exists for hundreds of years :D
As a Southerner I can attest to the fact you need a homemade biscuit wrapped around that fried pork chop. Even fast food places here sell it. Delicious
Jus an update for you, Egg Tarts was invented in the 1800s in Lisbon, Portugal. Today there’re many versions in Portugal, Brasil and the Macau's Lords bakery invented just one version of the egg tart, because egg tart itself was invented centuries before
Omg that pork chop sandwich at the beginning looked fantastic, but I’m confided about the bun as well 🥺! I just love all your videos Mikey, you’re a legend. All the food looks amazing, those egg tarts 😍😍🔥
Mike, if you can, will you please provide the names and addresses of these restaurants in Chinese characters (Traditional)? As you know most taxi cab drivers in Macau do not understand English or Portuguese.
Mikey thanks for teaching me things about flavors. “Meaty and fatty good with vinegar”, “dip your bread in soups” and other stuff like that. It really changes my food hunting game.
Mike that was how spain colonized the philippines for 333 years it was because a portuguese was on a expedition around southeast looking for spices to bring to europe and found garlic in the philippines. Now you know haha where it all started it is a long story and phil should be under portugal but that portuguese gave it to spain
OMG, welcome to Macau , I am always hoping that one day you will come to Macau and try all those delicious cuisines, there are many great restaurants in different casinos, you should try some.
Glad to see Portuguese food finally made it on the channel. And yes if you love garlic (and fish) then you will absolutely fall in love with basically all that Portugal has to offer
Ah yes, serradura! I'm Portuguese, we make this all the time. I've never seen a soup like that but it looks delicious too! Looks like a lot of these foods are like a Portuguese-Chinese fusion, I'd love to go to Macau to try them.
I love that he always is honest and still respectful. not like other youtubers who act like they ,,love,, everything, you are real Mikey :D
