HINT: Place the meds on the back of their tongue, close and gently hold their mouth shut (head up at a 45 degree angle) and rub the throat gently in a downward motion (makes them swallow). Learned this from my Dad, he trained animals for the military and it's has been very successful in treating my fur babies.

As soon as the tongue comes out (dogs or cats) that means they have swallowed.

Just lost my dog a few days ago to Parvo and it was vicious. I wouldn't wish that on my enemy. Wish I would have known about this sooner. But 2 other dogs came down with it so will be ordering. Thanks for sharing!

Our friends dog died from it years ago. The vet told them not to have another dog in the yard for 3 years. But that was 20 years ago now.
Maybe they've w worked out 1 year is sufficient enough time now.

I would seek another vet. We took in a parvo dog from a relative and the vet only charged a few hundred and that was for keeping her a good week and a half at the vets. I could go see her every day to check on her. My pets are my babies. Glad everything worked out for you.

A few years ago (6), my little pup Oliver when he was 4 months old, got Parvo when this girl who lived in this house with other dogs, A crazy amount including his mother and father and four siblings (He is a long haired dachshund, his parents where average size as were his siblings, he was the runt and very tiny 4 inches at the time) Anyway this girl would come over to see him and let him lick her feet, I would constantly tell her to not let him do that. But she didn't listen. (The house where he came from was filthy, dog poop everywhere, I saved him from that horror) a month later he started acting funny, at first I didn't know what was going on with him (never had a dog that had Parvo), he was lethargic, throwing up like crazy, pooping and didn't eat anything.
I was so worried and took him to the vet (350 bucks x 2 because the first doctor didn't do anything (Insert bad word here to reflect my anger toward that doctor), but the second one told me what was wrong) and I was told that he has a severe case of parvo and wouldn't make it through the night, he was bad. But he gave him the shot anyway and I took him home. I forced Pedalight down his throat, kept him warm and next to me. Cried my eyes out and watched how he fought to live as well (He would stumble over, take a drink and puke, take another drink and puke, but he was trying). It took a couple of days, but he made it. And I was told that once they get it, they won't get it again (Vaccination helped) My other puppy started throwing up but didn't go any further than one day since she was vaccinated already. He is now 6 years old and a crazy puppy. Unfortunately, his parents died and all four siblings died (Including the other four dogs that they had in the house) At least I managed to save one and he's been with me ever since. He is now out of the habit of licking feet.
He is a 10 pound, 25 inch long not included his tail, happy little pup and he thinks he's 10 feet tall and bullet proof until someone comes toward him to pet him, then he runs behind me like a coward. :) He howls at the title song from family guy, cases a laser pen and runs when there is a thunder storm. But he's a wonderful guy and full of energy.
Anywho, sorry about rambling on about my dogs Parvo scare. I'm sorry about your little guy that didn't make it, but at least he felt the love you gave him until his last day and that's what matters the most. He went knowing he was loved and cared for and you did a wonderful job with taking care of him. (I am talking about both pups. Max and Gizzie)
Thank you all for sharing your very interesting life on You-tube. I think I watched all of your videos so far. I would love to live there and build me a house in the shape of a sleeping dragon (dream house), smoke from the chimney going out of it's nose. How cool would that be? But the snakes, spiders and scorpions would force me to jump around and run like crazy, humorous as that would be to watch me bolt every time I would see a spider or a scorpion, I'd be up on tables or chairs. I don't know if I could handle seeing them all the time. But I would still love to live there. It sparks my creativity just watching y'all do what you do. Every time, I'm thinking "wow that would make a great wind chime", or "that would be cool as a window", or "I could use that piece of metal to make this or that." or "They used cellulose fiber to insulate the roof and I could use all that to make clay for sculptures." I'm weird I know.
But anyway, Thank you for reading this long comment. And again I apologize for writing a long one. Y'all have a great day.

Omgod, I'm so sorry for your loss. My daughter just went through that. It's so heart breaking. She went to a no kill shelter in Pasco Washington purchased the dog. Took it home after 4 hours it started vomiting. She took it straight to the vet. Called the shelter you know what they said , WE WILL GIVE YOU ANOTHER, DOG! Like it was nothing. That poor dog ended up having a blood transfusion all of it. She was heart broken. After all was said and done it ended up costing her around $700.00 . So thank you so much for the information. I definitely will tell her about the Paxxin.

Glad your dogs are getting better. We got hit by Parvo when our dog had pup's. We were giving them away, 1/2 found homes before someone came to pick one out. A few days later the last 4 got sick & died, it happened so fast. Lost the last 4 pup's. Thought it was poison, sent 1 for autopsy, it was Parvo. 2yr's later I saw the lady that got the 4th pup. She then told me that pup died just like the pup she had before. The Vet told me someone could have come on my property, & contaminated my yard. It can be transferred that easy. A person, other animal, some thing brought on to the prop., etc. can bring this deadly virus to your home/yard etc. Catching it early is your only chance.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Immunization doesn't mean that, with a high virus load, an animal can't become infected and show symptoms. It just means that the immune system will respond and crank up the proper antibodies- hopefully in time? I'm so glad you were able to provide care for your four legged family. That took guts. You rock.

    • @eig1979
      @eig1979 5 лет назад

I believe it has more to do with the lack of clinical trial. Without that, there's no way of understanding its effectiveness, and thu, giving it any credibility. Not to say, these things can not, and do not help.
Couple that with the fact, that there is also snake oil within the same market, masquerading as a miracle cure. Using hotwords like "Natural herbs", to feed the notion, that "Natural" somehow means better, it doesn't. "Natural", means raw form. Raw isn't always the best form.
Not to discourage you from using any of these things, only to be wary. In any case, I hope you sustain good health.

  • @GramaB7

So wonderful you found something! I wanted to pass on an even cheaper method that my family has found. Aloe vera (the centers only)/ or the pure liquid, and pedialyte! Using a medicine dosing syringe (no needle) works great for those stubborn pugs!! ( I used to breed them) the aloe coats the stomach, to allow the pedialyte to stay in. Yes, the same every hour a syringe full of each, (first aloe, then lyte) unless vomits again, then repeat once that calms. For me, There is an odd odor a fur baby seems to get with parvo, when I don't smell it anymore, after they eat and drink on their own! I also would make rice for first meals so it's easier on the tummy. I will definitely remember this, to look for it, if I ever run into that again, to add to my arsenal. Hope my info can help someone, thanks!!

I took my baby chihuahua took the vet ER, they gave me an antibiotic, I watched video's and did a little of everyone's suggestions, I used pedialyte, her medication i was told to give twice a day ! ml, She was so small I did every 6 hours I also kept putting pedialyte and chicken and banana gerber baby food , mixed with the pedialyte at room temperature, don't stop with the fluids, every thirty minutes, and extra before you go to bed, It works, EVERY 30 MN, fluids, it was very rough and several times I thought she had did, her heart was rely beating , I just kept gibing her fluids and in some of the fluids I added Karo syrup, because their sugar gets very low, it s day five, she is up walking around and went outside to go to the bathroom and looking better , I even seen her tail wagging, I also prayed every time I gave her fluids or food or her medication, and asked God to not let her die, It all worked, Thank you Jesus,

Subcutaneous fluid administration is not IV (intra venous). Important for people to know that they can learn how to give subcutaneous fluids at home because most people can't afford hospitalization for several days.

  • @Investigativebean

With liquids, sometimes you can administer by holding their mouth shut, and using a syringe to squirt it between the back teeth. Blowing into the nose while rubbing their throat in downward strokes is very effective.

I'm sorry about Gizbert. We had a parvo scare with our pups. Our bigger male first got it and got it the worst. And I had never had to deal with parvo on my own. I left the bigger boy at the vet's, as he was nearly critical and I was afraid that I wouldn't give him the best care possible; while his younger brother wasn't showing any signs
Then, the smaller dog started having dark diarrhea and light vomiting, and I caught the symptoms quickly enough that he was way less critical then his brother. To which my vet gave me sub-Q fluids to go under his skin every four hours.
Both boys are healthy now, but Paxxin sounds like something to have in any future case of Parvo!

I not sure where you live but in Texas,, tractor supply sells parvo shots for around $8-$13. The $8 ones are usually the first shot you give to a puppy. It's cheaper than going to the vet and spending $20 to $30,, just make sure you check the expiration date!

Perhaps the ground around the outbuilding is infected with parvo? I really hope that the puppies stay healthy now. Keep some IV at home if you can. I think it is just glucose and that will keep frosen. I have it for my cats when they get sick and ned fluids. And I keep it in the freeser.

I raise rat terriers. I have come to the conclusion the instead of parvo, that it is hookworms. They have the same exact symptoms. Ironically hookworms are in the ground, like parvo. I bought goat wormer from the feed store, with the same meds for hook worms that you can only get from the vet. You have to really cut back on the dosage for the weight of the dog compared to the weight of the goat. Pedialite and goat wormer save 95% of my dogs. Occasionally one of them has had it too long with no symptoms until it is too late, and die. The very first symptom is throwing up mucas, sometimes with grass in it. But with an older dog, I believe that it is hookworms.

I heard what you said about $10,000 for just one for parvo we have for dogs with parvo we caught it early and gateway hospital in Lake City Florida only charged us $1,450 and that was for everything.whatever clinic in any other clinics or hospitals out there that are charging more than that is price gouging and they don't care about the animal. And our dogs have survived the unsurvivable and that was with the best medicine. And they almost all lost their lives but we caught it in time. You said your house smell like a swimming pool we understand that very well cuz I house not like the chlorine factory. I think that clinic and hospitals that you would have gone to which is price gouging and did not care about your animals they say they do but they really don't.

I'm sorry for your loss! FYI,, puppies should be vaccinated several times before they reach 6 month old and if you get a new dog regardless of what the previous owner said you should vaccinate them for parvo,, distemper,, and coronavirus,, besides rabies. We've spent a lifetime rescuing dogs and cats,, the first thing we do is vaccinate then followed by spaying or neutering them.

I can relate to your parvo experience so much! Our puppy got infected when she was only 4 month old and was not vaccinated yet. This sickness is sooo cruel, she went up the walls driven by seizures, tearing up the wallpaper..... She survived, but was left with a tick in her left arm and eventually died with only 8 years cause the illness came back then. So, please vaccinate your puppies, since this illness is one of the cruelest on earth!

  • @gggthsb
    @gggthsb 5 лет назад +1

Glad everyone is fine, but either your dogs were not vaccinated corerctly or it wasn't Parvo. If they were vaccinated correctly it's highly unlikely that they get Parvo and if they had Parvo it's a near miracle that all of them survived. So even though I don't know which test method was used to determine that Gizbert definetely had Parvo, I would recommend you try to bleach as much of your land as possible since (as many stated before) the Virus can survive there for quite some time. Also I would reccomend you to check up on the vaccinations since, as mentioned before, if they are vaccinated correctly they wouldn't come down with Parvo....

Puppy’s are protected because of mother milk, after 5 months they need a vaccination, be careful the sickness can stick around for a long time, Because the white blood cells get very low, they give this antibiotics. Good to here this probiotics also work, quarantine seems no option anymore. I think you’re all so brave, so sad to lose one of your ‘family members ‘ 🐶😘

Not true, puppies should be vaccinated for parvo at 6 weeks with 2 additional boosters 4 weeks apart.

One thign a lot of people don't realize, is that a vaccinated dog can be a CARRIER of the disease, just not show symptoms or have very few. Also many vaccines (at least in people) are live modfied and can allow the person to spread disease to a non vaccinated or immune compromised individual. We used to breed boxers, and our momma dog had the sniffles before she gave birth, as did a few other dogs, and didn't think anything of it. But after giving birth, the puppies refused to nurse and began dropping like flies. After 1 week only 1 of 8 puppies was still alive. I pulled it off the mom and began formula. But it wouldn't thrive, and refused to suckle. When it began having seizures I called the vet and brought itin and they diagnosed it as distemper, and there was NO cure for it. Adult dogs have a marginal recovery rate, but puppies are 100% fatal. Our adult dogs were vaccinated, so it didn't affect them. But the mom still gave it to the puppies. After looking up more about distemper, it sounded a lot like pigeon parvo (not sure if that's similar to dog parvo). Pigeon keepers have good success fighting pigeon parvo with elderberry syrup. I figured I'd give it a shot. added to the puppy formula and syringe fed puppy every 2 hours. After 4 doses the puppy stopped having seizures and after 12 began suckling from a bottle. Pup went on to grow up into a big pup and found a good home! Elderberry is an anti-viral. I have had excellent luck with it on even swine flu. Justsomething else to keep on hand :)

I know I'm late to the party, but last February two of my dogs got parvo. The vet didn't provide us with IV fluids, but I'm a firm believer they lived because we gave them water enemas every few hours. Just a tip for anyone else who can't get the IVs!

Posting this was very irresponsible of this channel. I've been in animal medicine for 10 years, and have sadly treated lots (up to 7 in one day) of parvo in hospital. So let me clarify some things.
Get your pets vaccinated! ALL ages of dogs can get parvo, if your pet is unvaccinated- they are at risk. I've treated from a 5 week old to a 7 year old. You should never get another animal that's unvaccinated. It's in your yard, and it's not going away.
Parvo is not affected by antibiotics, It's a virus. We support the body's systems. We don't cure parvo, it has to run its course. Using oral medication is not ideal. Parvo reeks havoc on the gi system. Bad gi system means poor uptake or breakdown of everything, including those oral meds. Your pet dies from multiple factors dehydration, hypoglycemia being big onces. I can tell you now that 85% survival is bullshit. This product your supporting is no different then the handful of other probiotics out there. Guess what, parvo is 50/50 chance when you take home with meds/fluids depending on when they started treatment. In hospital is close to 70-85%, again depending on when they started treatment. I don't know what vet you went too - but $10k is very overly estimate. I can't see this number coming up unless 1)It was an emergency hospital with specialists. Or 2) was for multiple dogs. Most of our parvo treatment are from $1,000- $2,500 for one dog. And that high end is with plasma transfusions and a long stay in hospital. I also live in California, so our prices are higher then other states to begin with. Saying this price tag is just discouraging your viewers from going to a hospital for treatment.
Last thing, There are mobile vaccine clinics for cheap and you can get vaccines at a feed store. It's not ideal and if you are going to do it- do it right!
Puppies need boosters, it's not a one time at 10 weeks and good to go thing. Thanks the pups mom for that. Give vaccines every 3-4 week, starting at 6 -8 weeks old. and continue untill they are 16 weeks old. if your first was at 16 weeks, you should still do a booster. You don't know if that vaccine was stored and handled right by the store and some pups have maternal antibodies longer then others. Extra vaccines doesn't hurt your pet.

Thank god someone on here has a degree of common sense...well spoken Cailany!
I live in the UK and Parvo-virus, once a big issue here before the advent of vaccines is now much better controlled. How come? Public education on the importance of vaccination! I am sorry if I appear sceptical regarding 'Paxxin' but lets look at this scientifically. Parvo-virus is a virus, NOT a bacteria induced condition and all you are doing, by treating Parvo-virus with antibiotics is helping propagate the world problem of antibiotic resistance, how come? Well giving antibiotics to a condition that is virus induced is like pouring hot tea into a chocolate Teapot! It is a waste of time, How many times do people need to be told VIRUS does not respond to antibiotics and to be fair, due to it's non judicious administration in the past, is how we have arrived at a very serious problem for both veterinary and medical practice, i.e. Antibiotic resistance! I am not sure how you are over the states but here in the UK we have a very bad Virus called MRSA that is now non treatable with antibiotics, or very nearly so!.
I too have a background in clinical management and to promote what some may say is a 'snake oil' treatment is indeed irresponsible,
Just out of curiosity, is this channel being sponsored by 'Paxxin' ?
As 'Cailany' says the ONLY way to ensure protection is vaccination and a dog of any age can get Parvo-virus...The responsible dog keeper will quarantine his/her new puppy or new dog away from high risk areas until a course of vaccination is complete and only when assured by your Vet that the animal now has protection.
Dogs and cats, they all need boosters for the various diseases that they can fall foul off, dont forget. Just a puppy or kitten vaccination is not enough! Whilst I, myself am not a great believer in alternative medicine, I do think that treating such a virulent disease such as Parvo-virus with Herbs (what herbs?) and 'Probiotics has no scientific basis. The Gastro-Intestinal track is severely compromised in parvo-virus so even if this mix of Herbs and pro-biotics was potent, it could not be absorbed by a Gut that is raw and leaky!
Please state on your video that this is a non sponsored video and that you still recommend that any severely sick canine should receive the attention of a veterinarian. Thank you.

Vaccines cause auto immune disease and allergies in humans. I'm sure they do the same in animals as we now see a rise in auto immune disease and allergies in pets. It's reckless and irresponsible to say extra vaccines don't hurt.
